Chapter 181: New Wind Base (5)
"Satella, go and get Queenie to help us. One of you, go along with her to fetch my other team to help control the zombie from running loose. As for the others, we'll get over to where the gunfighting is and control the situation."
"Time is an essence, so quickly go and get everything done before it was too late." Zhang Qin Feng said.
"Yes!" one of the trios suggested that he'll guide Satella around.
As for the others, they immediately followed Shaun over to where the Facility Control Tower is located.
"Shaun, while we're on our way, tell me about the Facility Control Tower. Why are the people over there have more guns compare to you guys." Zhang Qin Feng asked. According to the scanner from Luna II, Shaun's group was considered the biggest, with ten people in their group. As for the one over at the Facility Control Tower, there are only five people there.
Why are a group of five all have guns, but not a group of ten?
"The people over there were the closest people to our first boss. They suspect that some of us were the schemer behind the incident, which is why we're separated into a few groups. The key to controls over the entire facility is at their hand, so they can be said to be the group that actually has control over this facility right now." Shaun answered.
"No wonder all of them have guns. Are you able to talk with them peacefully? I hope that we don't get into a fight straight away, especially when the zombies might be pouring out soon." Zhang Qin Feng continued.
"I'll try. I know two from the team very well. Hopefully, these people are willing to listen to us." Shaun replied.
"Good. Then let's do as you say. Let us solve the issue with the zombies before we sit together to have a good talk." Zhang Qin Feng nodded. His group soon reaches the location where the two sides are exchanging fire. But it was evident that their battle wasn't as severe as before.
"Tane! Stop firing! These people are not scavengers!" Shaun shouted from one of the windows on the second floor. Zhang Qin Feng was standing beside him to give any assurance that they're not here to get into a gunfight with them.
"Alex! Stop firing!" Zhang Qin Feng ordered.
The retaliation stopped immediately after Alex and the others heard Zhang Qin Feng's order.
"What the fuck are you doing with them, traitor?" Tane pointed his gun at Shaun. It seems that he was ready to pull the trigger if Shaun answered him with something he doesn't like to hear.
'Stein?' Zhang Qin Feng communicate privately with the system.

Their first exchange made Zhang Qin Feng worried about why Shaun was called a traitor by Tane.
"What is the problem here, Shaun? Can you explain this before the zombies come out?" Zhang Qin Feng set his Centurion Custom aside and point his Phalanx X-02 on Shaun's forehead. If this guy was the one that set everyone up and makes a mess of this facility, Zhang Qin Feng would send him on his way with a bullet.
"I, Tane, and another brother called Charles were as close as brothers when we're still serving under our first leader. But everything changed when our leader was bitten by the zombie and turned into one in front of everyone."
"We've struggled and managed to keep her in control. After a while, we've decided to keep her in the open until we found a solution."
"With our leader gone, the three of us understand that this base couldn't have a day without someone leading us. After negotiation between the three of us, we've decided that Charles would be the next leader with Tane and me supporting him."
"But the worst came after that. Charles was the next to be infected a few days later. Since only Tane and I are by his side, Tane suspects that I am the one scheming all of this. He felt that I am jealous of Charles because I was not chosen as the leader of this base." Shaun explained everything out in detail.
From the indifferent look on Tane's expression, it seems there's nothing wrong with what Shaun said. But the question still remained unanswered.
If both Tane and Shaun were not taking part in infecting the leaders, then who could it be?
Satella and Queenie soon arrived with the remaining people. And the Tyrant finally had enough of her imprisonment too. The Tyrant swung its arms like a sledgehammer and took down the fence from obstructing her path.
"WOAH!" the Tyrant's cry was like a summoning bell that gets the other zombies agitated. It had a slight effect, just like the scream from a screamer.
"Get ready to battle." Zhang Qin Feng ordered. Queenie, Alex, and their team immediately took the vanguard position as they get ready to engage with the zombies from a distance. As for the other local survivors, they're still in a daze from the shout earlier.
"Tane, correct?" Zhang Qin Feng called the name of the guy shooting at Alex and the others earlier.
"Yes. Who are you? And what are you intending to do here?" Tane asked. Based on this alone, Tane seems to be a more fitting leader compared to Shaun. But that quality was also what made him suspected Shaun.
He might have the quality as a leader but not the eyesight to judge a person. At the very least, Zhang Qin Feng finds that Shaun was trustworthy enough. It would be impossible for him to be the one scheming behind everyone.
"Zhang Qin Feng. Leader of Wind Base. I'm here to take over this facility. You're free to think what you like, but do it after getting rid of the zombies in the base." Zhang Qin Feng said.
"I'll leave you to decide if you're going to help, or you're going to protect yourself until everything is over. All I can promise is I will not mistreat everyone that was here from the beginning."
"Decide now. You don't have much time."
"Satella, go up there and get rid of the Tyrant." Zhang Qin Feng kept his Phalanx back into the harness and took the Centurion Custom back in his hand.
