Chapter 158: Trash or Treasure? (3)

"Boss! One moment, please." Victor hurriedly kept Zhang Qin Feng from leaving with the others. There must be something in his mind based on his expression.

Zhang Qin Feng stays where he stands after hearing what Victor just said. Waving his hand at Valerian and Marvin, he signaled them to go without him.

"Alright, Victor. It's just you and me right now. What is in your mind to speak privately with me?" Zhang Qin Feng crossed his arm around his torso as he speaks.

"Boss, this subordinate has a suggestion to make. But it might cost you some fortune. I will continue if you're interested, so please let me know what you think." Victor said. A paper-thin-film was brought out from his back pocket as he was waiting for his answer.

"Fortune? What fortune did you mean? The gold, the food, or the guns?" Zhang Qin Feng asked for further clarification.

Although he would seem materialistic if his concern were all over the precious gold in their inventory, this was a fact that he couldn't deny. While the post-apocalypse problem was all about food, people, and resources, the modern world's issue is money, money, and more money.

As long as gold and money weren't involved in this suggestion, there is no harm done.

"It concerns what we have in our warehouse. We have a lack of building material. I'm afraid that if we're trying to look into manufacturing over a hundred of these weapons, we'll have to start salvaging more things from our neighborhood." Victor said.

"This is why I'm suggesting that we produce a better quality launcher, one that is capable of withstanding the heat multiple times before going out of service. It will take us a while to build one, but it can significantly reduce the cost," he added.

Based on his words, it seems the problem lies between average quality goods and high-quality goods. The base is capable of producing either one, but not without compromising in quality or cost.

One has a lower cost but higher turnover. And the other has lower turnover but higher cost.

"I understand your concern, Victor. But tell me, what is your proposal? I want to listen to what is in your mind." Zhang Qin Feng smiled after listening to the issue brought up by Victor.

Zhang Qin Feng believes that there must be a reason for Victor to bring this matter to his attention.

"Well, since you ask, boss… I'll be honest then…" Victor reluctantly agreed to Zhang Qin Feng's order.

"What's our odd of winning if we were to gamble everything we have to attack the wall of zombies?" asked Victor.

'Stein, what's your answer to Victor's question?' Zhang Qin Feng directed the question to the system. He had a feeling of making a wrong assumption without going through the data from each of their battle.

[Toot…]

[Based on the system's analysis, our chances of winning are merely 33% if we were to attack with what we have right now. The analysis excludes the soon-to-be-completed stockpile of serums, rocket launchers, and other variables]

[The winning percentage would be around 60% to 70% even if we include them. It would be wise to prepare a little more before recklessly moving forward]

The system analytical engine quickly came out with an unbiased answer that he's expecting.

"Boss?" Victor asked because there's no reply from Zhang Qin Feng after waiting for a minute or two.

"What kind of material you're trying to salvage from our surroundings? I might have a solution for you." Zhang Qin Feng said. The corner of his lips curved slightly upward as he came up with a few tricks in mind.

"We need multiple varieties of metal, such as aluminum, magnesium, tin, and iron. As for other chemical elements, we need some sulfur, arsenic, and silica. Gathering them outside using the Reprinter Unit would be advisable. But…" Victor hesitates slightly before finishing what he was going to say.

"Keep talking. I hate to be left hanging in between and have to guess what else you might need." Zhang Qin Feng said.

"One Reprinter Unit is too slow. We can get the survivors to salvage the material and bring them back, but there'll be a lot of work at the back to make them usable."

"To make it easier to understand, we're having a problem with our raw materials." Victor lowered his head and embarrassingly admitted what their problem was.

"These problems won't be a problem. I'll get the material for you tomorrow. Just prepare the workforce needed to start manufacturing the munition and ammunition. If there are no significant changes in our plan, we will make our move at the start of next week." Zhang Qin Feng said.

"Next week?" Zhang Qin Feng's statements surprised Victor. No matter from which direction he's looking, he couldn't find the reason behind Zhang Qin Feng's confidence before answering him.

"Then… I'll go back and get everything arranged! There are still a few days to go before Monday. If we push the production longer, I'm sure we can get everything done before the deadline." Victor looked much more confident than before after Zhang Qin Feng agreed to solve the issue with raw materials on his behalf.

"Let us get back to the main building. I still have something else to do," said Zhang Qin Feng.

The two came back from the shooting range together and went straight into the main building without wasting their time in the square. Alex appeared as he climbs the stairs to the upper floor.

"Did Liam done his moving?" Zhang Qin Feng asked.

"Yes, boss. That guy just moved in. Do you want me to get him?" Alex asked.

"Yes. Get that guy and follow me to Marvin's workshop. I have something there that the two need to work on together." Zhang Qin Feng said and went on his own first.

Victor already brought the machinery Zhang Qin Feng left outside into the workshop when he arrived at the doorstep. It seems that the antiquity of the modern world machinery once again caught Marvin's tinkering obsession.

**Knock - Knock - Knock**

"Boss, is that you?" Marvin answered the door in a hurry. A few parts from the machine were still in his hand when he answered the door.

"Who else? Did you start to play with the machine already?" Zhang Qin Feng asked.
