Chapter 140: Return to Xiyang City

"Satella!" Zhang Qin Feng immediately encircled the vast body of the creature to reach where Satella is.

Luckily, Satella was still around. It appeared to be missing her just by that little, but Zhang Qin Feng knew it was not the case. According to the creature's size, it was more than enough to swallow Satella and the Tyrant together.

Like a snake slithering away, the creature vanishes after Zhang Qin Feng stands guard by her side.

But the most important thing right now all about Satella. After removing what's remain from the Tyrant, Zhang Qin Feng hastily dragged Satella away from this part of the Turbine City and approaches the cliff where they came from.

It was getting later in the afternoon, and in the next hour or two, there will be no longer light to guide them back to Wind Base.

"Satella!"

"Satella!"

Zhang Qin Feng repeatedly called to wake her up. Barely able to comprehend what had just happened, Satella opened her eyes again. In her heart, she secretly smiled because Zhang Qin Feng was giving her a piggy ride on his back.

Unfortunately, their situation wasn't that appropriate for her to crack a joke right now. She gave Zhang Qin Feng's shoulder a pat to indicates she's alright and pointed in the direction they should be heading.

The two soon reached a much gentler slope for mount climbing, and with the help of the equipment on Satella's belt, she went ahead first. A rope was thrown down later for Zhang Qin Feng to pull himself up.

"Do you know what's happening just now? Any idea what is that creature?" Zhang Qin Feng asked. Before leaving, he turned his head back at the spot in this Turbine City. It seems that zombies were just an insignificant part of their worries.

There are more things to be concerned about. The Tyrant, and also this mysterious creature. But while Zhang Qin Feng was looking back at the city, he or Stein did not realize that the mysterious creature was staring at them too.

It was now back on its nest, where Satella crash-landed earlier. The creature was sniffing at the scent that Satella left when she was unconscious. It was seen rolling itself together and took a nap after that sumptuous Tyrant dinner.

"Boss! Vice-Boss! You're back!"

"But… Why do you both look so rugged and wasted?" the guards asked as soon the couple stepped through the door. But all he got was a bread in its packaging shoved into his mouth.

"Ask less stuff and do your job. Leave both of us…" Zhang Qin Feng smiled and continue to follow Satella inside. Many survivors greeted them, but that was the least of their concern right now.

The two searched for a spot inside the building where their penthouse was and sat. They finally relaxed and took a deep breath, as it means they're now much safer than before. Although everything ended up in a single day, it was quite an exciting experience for them both.

This can be said to be their second time, after their first encounter against a Tyrant on the motorway with Marvin accompanying them.

"What do you think, Feng? Is this exciting enough?" Satella asked with a smile on her face. The expression seems to be forced.

"It will give me a heart attack if we're going through something like this daily. Let's start making this place around us safer, so not everyone needs to go through something like this again in the future." Zhang Qin Feng said.

"Future? What is that?" Satella asked.

"That's something we'll look forward to. What you're going to eat tomorrow, what will happen a month later, and many more. That's more exciting than hunting the zombies." Zhang Qin Feng added.

"If that could happen… I would like to see that future as well." her smile was much more honest this time. The two eventually dragged their exhausted body back to the penthouse for a proper shower to clean themselves from the residue of the Tyrant's splattered blood, the grime, and dust.

When they're out of the room, dinner was prepared by the others as they're waiting there for both Zhang Qin Feng and Satella to join them.

"Didn't I say to not wait if we're eating instant noodles? Look at how soggy it looks!" Zhang Qin Feng went and pinched Miriam's cheek because she's the nearest person beside Satella.

They immediately remake the dinner again, but not before Marvin and Victor finished the soggy noodles in their bowl. It was a meal full of preservatives and seasonings, but it was much better than to eat alone back in the modern world.

Perhaps because Satella was quite exhausted from what happened today, she fell asleep almost immediately when they hit the bed. Seeing how deeply asleep she was, Zhang Qin Feng gave her a kiss on her cheek before secretly returning to the modern world.

'Stein, let's continue with the conversation earlier. What're the differences between Satella's Bloodline Status and my Foundation Status?' Zhang Qin Feng asked. After coming back from the post-apocalypse, the first thing he did was to check his smartphone to see if he missed something important.

He was supposed to meet Clara Yu if there are no changes in his schedule. But he still had to get himself prepared as much he could. As long there are no main changes in the interest and the idea, this meeting will be where he's will take the money out from his pocket.

And he needed to get his investment budget ready.

The card given by Wang Yufei before he left Shuiyue City was taken out from his wallet. First thing in the morning tomorrow will be to call this person and speak with him.

[Toot… The system is ready. Would the user like to be briefed right now?]

Stein gives out a polite notice because it sensed that Zhang Qin Feng had something unrelated in his mind.

'Yes. Go ahead. I'm listening.' Zhang Qin Feng replied.

[Noted. The system will start explaining the differences between the user's Foundation and Satella's Bloodline Status]
