Bob was not like the others.

After losing his arm, he used negative magic to stop the bleeding.

He watched from the sidelines, and the chaos that Lenny caused made a cold sweat run down his neck.

"What kind of demons did I provoke? They are slaughtering everyone.

This is bad! This is bad! A demon attack had to happen when Father and the other seniors went to attack the giant shadow werewolves. Shit! I have to tell him otherwise; I'll die here.

Instantly, he used his blood from his wood to write certain runes on the ground as he echoed low incantations.

This was going to be a long-range spell.

These worlds did not have phones. There were no power lines. He was using his bloodline to call his father.

...

Fate worked in mysterious ways because, at around the same time, far off in the desert, a certain group of Magi were attacking a group of werewolves.

These werewolves were not like the other group that came to check the wreckage and had dark fur all over.

These were very different. Their fur was white as snow.

All of them were big and mighty. They ran across the desert with such speed that human eyes would find it difficult to follow.

Their skill was best displayed in regions with corners and shadows, hence their name: Giant Shadow Werewolves.

This particular set of giant shadow werewolves wore bronze armor around their bodies.

Even though the armor looked uneven and loose on their skin, it did not cackle for even a bit as they dashed through the desert.

At the moment, they were rushing through a valley.

After this point, they would finally reach home.

There were four of them in total. This was far less than half their initial number.

On the foremost Werewolf was a young man holding onto his bleeding side as he rode the Werewolf.

"Hurry up, Moses! The witches are catching up."

"Yes, young master Victor! I'm going as fast as I can." The werewolf answered.

These were all guards of the Giant Shadow Werewolf Pack.

And the young man on Moses's back was their young master and last son of the Alpha, also known to have the purest form of the pack's bloodline to have ever been born.

At the moment, they were chased by a coven of senior-ranked Magi that attacked from above with negative fire.

An unfortunate chain of events led to this.

Because of the current state of the Giant Shadow Werewolf pack, the elders of the pack sought out secret ways to remedy the pack's situation.

Fortunately, the problem with the pack was only known to a very select few.

The outside world was not yet aware of this.

Using the illusion that the pack still had great strength, it was decided that a binding with a rival pack just as great would be the solution to protect their fall.

The rival pack was called the Iron-Back Werewolf Pack.

They were a bunch of savage werewolves with ferocity as wild as dogs.

For many generations before the apocalypse, they had been rival packs.

The reason was because of the primordial beast backing them.

These primordial beasts allowed them to even escape the fierce apocalypse and the demons that brought it.

It was for this reason that they were both called Great Packs.

However, tragedy struck, and now the Giant Shadow Werewolf Pack was on the verge of a fall.

To save themselves, they thought it wise to propose a marriage between both packs.

Marriages in werewolf packs were actually a sacred ritual, as a person's mate was chosen by imprinting on the person.

This imprinting process was done without control and was a connection of the soul bonding with that of another, a binding of the souls that cannot be broken unless one or the other dies.

It was only expected that a bond would be created by imprinting.

However, the Giant Shadow Werewolves have a method that they have used for countless years that is well known to all.

It was the same method that had ensured that only the strongest within the pack imprinted with one another and produced offspring that had the best genes.

And this has worked for hundreds of years.

The Giant Shadow Werewolf Pack had become a powerhouse that even the demons respected.

The method for this was a big red orb the size of a soccer ball.

It was blood red and was known as the Eye of a Primordial Beast.

The goal was to use this ancient artifact to force a bond between Victor, the last son of the Alpha and chief of the tribe, and the only daughter of the Alpha of the Iron Back Werewolf pack.

This was not an assignment that Victor liked, but he did it either way. After all, the pack always came before the individual.

Unfortunately, on their way to the Iron Back Werewolf pack, they were ambushed on all sides by pirates, Magi's, and Werewolves.

Without a doubt, it had been a joint, planned attack.

The fight had been fierce, and many died. To give a chance at life to young master Victor, some of the guards stayed behind to fight, and the others helped him escape.

Unfortunately, they were not able to secure the Eye of the Primordial Beast.

Nevertheless, they did manage to escape from the encirclement.

At the moment, they were running back to their pack territory.

After all, once they made it there, they would be safe.

However, the Magi after them were relentless in their pursuit.

It was general knowledge that spells that granted flight were very difficult to both manage and invoke.

Also, they consumed a lot of magic power.

The only people who could afford such power consumption were elder-level witches.

However, these Magi have been pursuing them for a long time over a long distance, even managing to keep up with the speed of the giant shadow wolves.

Without a doubt, these people had been well prepared. It was a trap...

(Author's note: Witches and Magi are the same, except Magi went to school but witches did not... See what I did there?)
