"Yes!" Athena nodded, "I think what we are dealing with here is a Witch. It is the only explanation for what is happening to us right now. Or do you have another explanation for why we have been walking towards a cottage on a hill that only looks about a kilometer but has taken us three days now!?"
Lenny and the others shook their head.
However, they were not really sure of what to think about it.
This was most especially true for Lenny.
Since the night that the negative Spirits took Insect-B, they had been advancing steadily towards the little Cottage in the distance. However, no matter how hard they tried.
They just could not get close to it.
They was also the fact that whenever night fell, they would get Negative spirits as visitors.
Of course, Lenny used his White Flame to fight them off.
However, it had really started to become annoying. This was especially true because he was no longer allowed to rest.
Day time, they would rush for the cottage and at night, they would have to be alert against the negative Spirits.
In that time, their source of food had been demon meat, and water had been it's blood.
By now, no one complained about the food. Most especially Athena.
Then again, there was nothing else to eat.
This forest seemed to have gone lifeless with animals.
For some reason that none could explain, they just could not find wild animals or Mutated beasts anywhere, no matter how hard they looked.
Athena suggested that this was the handy work of a Witch.
Athena had lived for years, and in that time, she had heard many stories from the demons in the Arena.
She had heard of this forest.
It was called the Moving Forest Of Discarded Sufferings.
Just as the name suggested, it was moving.
In fact, it was ever moving.
This forest only apeared outside Spring Town twice a year, and during both times, demons did not go close to it.
In fact, even devils avoided it. The reason was because it was said to belong to a Witch.
This Lush Forest belonged to an Elder Witch called Ciri.
Witches actually existed in this apocalyptic world.
However, they existed unlike one would expect.
Witches were of different ranks. They were actually human beings.
However, those of them that were smart, and knowledgeable about the upcoming apocalypse had made certain deals.
Some said that the deal was with Lucifer himself, and others say that those deals were with the Royal families.
They were even some that said that these deals were done with the gates of Hell itself.
However, the one thing that they all had in common, was the fact that hundreds to thousands of souls had been sacrificed.
Because of these deals, Witches were actually granted immunity from the apocalypse as well as the destruction and mayhem that it brought with it afterwards.
It is said that as long as a witch remains in her own domain, no demon nor devil can come for them.
Of course, they were demons that wanted to test this theory.
The evidence of them being burnt by negative fire the moment they took a foot into the forest had been seen by too many people for the theory to be called an urban myth.
Apparently, regardless of whosoever or whstsoever the deal was made with, one thing was clear, and that was the fact that the Witches and their territory was not to be messed with.
Whether by demons or devils, none Shall try a Witch's territory.
This was regardless of the demon's rank or strength.
It was for this reason that even Momoa would not dare intrude on the forest.
However, Lenny and his teammates were different.
Although they were Half-borns, this particular rule was not restricting for them.
Infact, their existence was kind of a cheat into such a place, after all, they were half human.
However, the believe that they would be able to stand a Witch because they were able to make it alive into the forest something Athena strongly discouraged them about.
Witches used Negative Magic.
This was an entire different form of Magic from the chaos Magic of Devils and the Darkline Magic of demons.
Negative Magic was said to be a twisted corrupt form of creation magic.
It was capable of feeding on both Darkline magic and Chaos magic.
Of course, this was highly dependent on the quality of the two as well as the vast knowledge of individuals involved.
Nevertheless, to not admit it's strength over Darkline magic would be pure foolishness.
However, such was it's power that it came with some pros and cons.
For example, while it could be used to devour Darkline magic, it was extremely difficult to practice and was in need of constant external sustenance.
It was not like Darkline Magic that was generated naturally from the demon's body.
Secondly, those that practiced it could not meet sunlight, as it was a strong bane to their lives.
It suddenly made sense why the trees were so high in this place, and why they blanketed everywhere so much that it looked like evening even when it was midday and the sun was at its brightest.
There were a few other restrictions. However, these were the known few that Athena was currently aware of.
Regardless of the downs of this long walk that left most of them endearing with tiredness and Crusher with frustion about his lover, Lenny happened to have had the good side of the stick.
By the first morning into this place, more parts of the Satan System had been exposed to him.
