It came like water. However, this water was as black as the night and it did not flow on the ground, infact, it hovered just above it.
It moved like it was one with the air, but was very different from it.
It flowed gently, and did not even disturb the blades of grass as it passed through them.
It's movement was incredibly subtle, like the soft carress of skin against skin in passionate mating.
It had an aura of its own. This was aura that Lenny cold feel even though the vile creature was still a fair distance from him.
They were Half-borns and had incredible body temperatures that should normally not be affected by the weather of this world.
However, for some reason, whatsoever that was coming made him feel cold. Or rather, made the environment very cold.
As it approached, the grasses froze. Even the crickets slowly stopped their music as they froze in ice.
The night suddenly became lifeless, except of course for the campers steadily breathing in and out as they slept.
What Lenny felt was not just cold from all around. It was also cold from deep within his soul.
Even with the extra defenses he had on his soul, he could swear that he felt it shiver a little.
If he was feeling this, it was really a wonder what the others were feeling.
However, Lenny soon discovered that this sensitivity was special to just him.
The others seemed to sleep peacefully.
In fact, Perseus and Hector snored in a rhythm that assisted one another.
However, Lenny knew that Crusher and Athena were not at sleep.
The floating mass of ink-black liguid moved steadily.
Firstly, it wrapped around the insect mounts like a blanket, and as if air had blown them away, they were taken without so much as a sound.
Next, it came for them.
Like a big blanket, it slowly hovered above them.

The system had given a series of alerts and Lenny read through all of them.
As he did, he opened his eyes.
There it was: Red eyes like shinning rubies.
These were the only note worthy description about this creature.
The rest of it was all TEETH.
When the Satan system had said that these things had teeth.
That was not at all a joke.
There was black teeth everywhere. Everywhere Lenny looked, aside for the face, was a messy display of teeth dark as the night.
Instantly, Lenny moved his wrist as a Katana appeared and stabbed upwards.
However, he might as well have thrown a stone into water.
It was like he had stabbed through air.
However aside the point he held, the entire top of the blade seemed to have dissolved in the Negative spirit.
Lenny looked at it, and it at him.
*SCREEH!!!*
It screeched loudly as it forced an embrace on Lenny.
Instinctively, Lenny activated his White Flame.
A wide Blast of it rushed at his opponent instantly burning it to nothing.
It's two ruby eyeballs fell on the ground.
Lenny's attack was the whistle that sounded the start of the fight.
Just like Lenny, negative Spirits were all over his teammates.
Instantly, Athena moved.
She swung her blade for the Negative Spirit above her.
However, her blade passed through it, and when it was out, it was gone.
Except the hilt, it was all gone.
"What the FUCK!?" She cursed.
However, a series of loud SCREECHS went out in the air as the negative Spirit made their assaults.
Thinking fast, she grabbed Hector by his arms and rolled over just before the negative Spirit sank it's teeth in him.
Crusher on the other hand, had not been so lucky.
He had tried to punch the negative Spirit.
His hand went into its body and it's teeth clamped down on his arm.
"Ahhh!!!" He screamed as it's teeth sank into his flesh like fork in a plate of freshly made lasagna.
By now, the entire camp had woken up.
Luckily, Perseus had not been too far away from Lenny.
The blast from Lenny's white flames affected the Negative spirit that was over him.
Crusher on the other hand activated his Darkline magic.
However, it seemed as if it accelerated the rate of absorption.
Things happened fast and half of his body was already swallowed in, however, Insect-B held him from being swallowed.
She held him with one hand while the second dug into the ground.
Perseus saw this and rushed to aid.
However, attacks did nothing to this creatures.
It was like trying to cut through water or air.
Insect-B had incredible strength, and she managed to hold Crusher from being swallowed.
Lenny waved his hands as white flame rushed for the negative Spirit.
Lenny's white flame was like acid on paper for these creatures of the dark.
Instantly, it vomited Crusher out.
However, just as it shyed away, a part of it like a smoky rope wrapped around one of Insect-B's leg, and with incredible force, it pulled her into the night.
"NO!!!" Crusher screamed as he rushed after her.
Lenny saw this and grabbed him by the shoulder.
However, Crusher tried to shake him off.
Unfortunately, Lenny was far stronger.
He forcefully pulled him back, straight to the ground.
"Don't go!" Lenny screamed at him.
Crusher still wanted to move but Lenny stepped on his chest so hard that his rips cracked, and he coughed up some blood.
Meanwhile, he waved his hands in all directions and a circle of white flames formed about their camp.
Crusher struggled, but Lenny did not let go.
"Are you crazy!? That thing took Insect-B!" Crusher complained.
However, Lenny could not bother explaining. He grabbed Crusher by the shoulder and gave him a punch to his face that instantly knocked him out...
