Hiana flies over a city in the Vorn empire. A wide grin graced her face. This is the way to get back to that fake demon lord base.

Yes, she will destroy the cities around that base. Then when she is ready, she will ruin Vorn's seat of government.

That demon woman stopped in the middle of the city and stretched out her two arms. She focused on channeling her thoughts to the demon guarding that place. And before long, shapeshifters, minotaurs, and succubi flocked under her.

She chuckled. "Listen to me! I order you to…."

"We're not going to fulfill your orders, bitch!" A minotaur with dark brown fur interrupted the demon woman's words. "You won't be able to control us! We will still have free will!!!"

Hiana's eyes widened, not understanding what was going on. The level of the demons wasn't that high. She should be able to control them easily.

A succubus added, "You underestimate the empire of Vorn! We have plenty of resources to dispel your mind-control magic!"

Is it because of the serum, the new magic, or something? Hiana couldn't pinpoint what really happened, making her even more frustrated.

With facial veins tightening and her face flushed with anger, she growled. "Then, I will destroy this city…."

Explosive sounds were heard from various directions, and Hiana immediately dodged the bullets.

"Shit!" The demon woman chose to fly away because she kept hearing the explosions.

She flew at high speed, increasingly confused by her condition. How could she be frightened by those stun bullets?

She is a demon lord, right?"

"Arrrgggghhh!!!" That demon woman kept flying toward the forest. Then, with her pushing force, she carried out the destruction. Trees were flying, animals were running, and a great earthquake shook the earth.

She kept screaming in frustration.

Karl took a deep breath and rubbed his face with trembling hands. A communications book lay before him. A minotaur stationed in Silkdale city has just given a report.

"I'm also happy, honey." Charlia, the adviser's wife, who now has long brown hair, patted her husband on the shoulder. "Your hometown is fine."

"We are fortunate to have successfully distributed the device that dispels Hiana's influence to Silkdale on time." Xenora, sitting opposite the husband and wife, said. "I hope we can give the object to other areas soon."

"And I had no idea the sound explosion trick would work," Karl added. "It seems that Hiana is already very paranoid. We are not prophets or demon lords, but we can push her like that."

Only two demon-paralyzing rifles were sent to Silkdale because those things were complicated to manufacture. But some magic users use special magic to emulate that weapon's sound.

Xenora looked up at the ceiling of the meeting room. "But I'm not sure a trick like that will last long. In the end, Hiana will do a big attack on us."

"Yeah, that's why Lord Vorn and his wife are so important," Karl added. "Is there no sign of them coming back yet?"

The succubus massaged her forehead. "They should be able to return soon. And since the portal can suck up many individuals, the next ritual must also be the same. Not only 3 individuals can travel, as Ayre estimates. So, they can return home soon…. Hopefully, whatever is holding them back isn't anything major."

"I also hope so." Karl also sounded tired. "The situation here is getting worse. We really need them all."

The atmosphere of the room became silent. They are busy with their own thoughts.

"Yes." Charlia got up from her chair, holding her communication book to her ear. "I see…. This is great news, indeed."

She put the book down and said. "The people at the clinic didn't dare to contact you because they thought you two were busy. So, I will give you the news."

Xenora's brow furrowed. "What happened?"

Karl took a breath. "This isn't something bad, right?"

"Relax, this is good news." Charlia chuckled. "It's official. Ritor became a father."

Silence again.

"What?" Charlia laughed. "Is it too weird?"

Karl leaned slightly towards his wife. "So, are their baby a furry?"

***

Charlia, Xenora, and Karl entered the infirmary. They found Lana holding a small creature wrapped in a white cloth on the bed. Meanwhile, Ritor sat beside the bed, occasionally touching his son's cheek.

And he smiled very broadly. The rare sight made Xenora and the others exchange glances.

"Hey." Lana smiled weakly at the three individuals. "Look at him. Isn't he adorable?"

The three of them checked on the sleeping baby. He was clearly shaped like a normal human.

"He looks nothing like you, Ritor." Karl chuckled. "Except for his hair which is the color of your fur."

"He will be a great warrior like me." Ritor chuckled too, and that set off the chills for the others, except for Lana

The minotaur had never done anything like that either.

Lana uncovered the cloth covering the baby's head. A pair of small horns was on his head, barely visible through the hair. "I think he looks like his father enough."

"Ah, it's a shame Lord Vorn can't come on this historic day," Xenora commented.

A nurse then came in and said. "I'm sorry, this baby and mother need to get checked. Please come out."

After saying goodbye and Ritor kissing his wife's forehead, they left the room, leaving Lana and her son alone.

"I'll prepare something in a moment." The nurse started making something on a table, turning her back on Lana.

"Sure, and thank you." Lana looked at her baby's face with a smile.

But that smile only lasted a few seconds. Something appeared above the baby's head, floated in the air, took the form of a large ring, and emitted light.

A halo.

Lana's body shook. With stiff movements, she turned her head to the nurse, who still wasn't facing her.

This is a dire situation, especially if the nurse knows.

Lana didn't know what to do yet, but the nurse turned around.

Luckily the halo above the baby's head had already disappeared.

"What's wrong, Miss Lana?" The nurse raised an eyebrow at the woman's tense expression.

Lana forced a smile on her face. "Nothing. I'm just grateful my son was born safely."
