I saw that woman dart so fast toward me. I had to jump by pulling Velvet. I didn't have time to maneuver with my bike.

A loud rumble echoed as that woman slammed into the bike, smashing it to pieces. She then stopped midair almost instantly.

"You can't fly, can you?" She raised an eyebrow, gliding by using her fast-moving insect wings. Her clothes were tattered and dirty. "Then I'm also not going to fly to make this more interesting."

Her wings disappeared, then she landed on both feet and started walking towards me.

Velvet and I put up our stances, ready to fight. I raised my fists in front of my face, and my wife engaged the blade mode of her weapon.

"Why are you wearing armor?" She spread her hands. "And why did you bring in a reinforcement?"

She had moved and strangled Velvet with super fast movements, then threw the former prophet into a building. Like before, the building collapsed and raised a large cloud of dust.

I can't even follow her moves.

Full of rage, I punched that woman in the stomach. Then I gave her a combination of punches and kicks to her body.

"By the way, my name is Hiana." She stayed where she was, seemingly unfazed by all my attacks.

Impossible.

I increased the intensity of my strike, but the result was the same.

"Oh, dragon power, huh?" She followed the movement of my fiery orange fist. "Interesting, but this just tickles me."

My fists only burned the woman's clothes without giving any significant effect.

"Is this all you're capable of?" She muttered. "You're boring, Vorn. I was looking forward to this."

That woman caught my hands and twisted them. I was utterly powerless despite exerting all my strength.

"Do you have anything else?" she sneered. "Perhaps you can take your underlings from my control? Or you can cast some interesting magic for me?"

I kept trying to fight her powers, but I couldn't. My gaze landed on her name, which was written above her head.

The name is red, indicating that her level is far above mine.

I'd known that from the first time I saw her, but I was reckless because I was too eager to shake off this discomfort. I thought by taking the initiative to attack first, I could win.

Why am I being this stupid?

Suddenly she caught my head, then slammed her knee into my face. My body instantly bounced high, and my face felt like it was crushed.

Shit.

My body dived down, and Hiana was already getting ready on the ground.

I was speechless when she thrust her hand into my chest. When I looked down, I found so much blood. Her hand had penetrated me.

I coughed violently, making my mouth fill with the reek of blood. My breath suddenly stopped, and I felt a strange sensation different from the discomfort.

I can't feel my heart beating anymore.

Hiana pulled her hand, making me fall to the ground. And miraculously, my pain disappeared instantly.

I saw Hiana holding something red and beating in my increasingly blurry vision.

A heart?

Is that my heart?

Shit.

I want to get up, swear, and attack her again. But I can only spit blood from my mouth. My nose can't even breathe anymore.

What keeps me alive is my power as a demon lord.

Hiana squeezed my heart until it popped, then laughed like crazy. I can only give her a sharp look.

You're gonna get more than this, bitch.

"Oh, you're still holding on, huh?" Hiana looked in one direction, and I could immediately guess who she was talking to.

With the last of my strength, I tried to crawl toward Velvet. She was walking from the ruins of the building.

"No…." I managed to force my voice out. "Run…."

"Arrrghhh!!!!" Velvet raised her sword, about to attack. I desperately waved my hand, motioning for her not to do anything.

"Hey…." Hiana chuckled. "I only realized it now. You are the prophet of this era, right? You have the same aura as Orrian, Lyra, and your other predecessors."

Velvet jumped up and swung her sword, but Hiana caught her hand easily.

"Unfortunately, you are still green." Hiana hissed enthusiastically. "You still need some time before you can be on par with me. Well, I'll be waiting for you. You'll be more fun than this shit."

Hiana kicked Velvet to the ground, then started flying using her wings. When Velvet was about to shoot the rope from the device on her arm, I held her leg.

"That's enough, Velvet." I'm having a hard time talking.

Hiana flew higher and higher, then shot away at high speed, leaving us.

"My lord..." Velvet took off her helmet, crouched near me, and supported my body with her hands. Her tears fell a lot.

"Hold my hand…." I raised my trembling hands.

Velvet held my hand tightly, crying even more. She seemed to be speaking, but my hearing had diminished. I don't know what she's talking about.

"Take back the dragon power that is in me…. Please, don't ask….. Just do it…." I desperately maintained my consciousness. "After this, just contact Ayre…."

She wiped away the tears, froze for a moment, then nodded. Slowly, I felt warm energy flow from my chest and transfer to Velvet's hands.

My eyelids are getting heavy. I can't keep it from opening.

Everything went dark, and I didn't feel anything anymore.

[Game Over]

And under the text, there are two options.

[Reborn]

[Exit]

If I choose to be reborn, I will jump hundreds of years into the future, and not all of my current underlings are still alive. I also have to fight from the bottom again, building everything from scratch.

So, I chose [Exit].

After turning off my console from the following option, I took off my VR helmet. I straightened my body with a ragged breath and cold sweat that kept flowing.

It was all like an absolute nightmare. I checked my chest to make sure there wasn't a hole there. The impact of that incident was so significant for me.

But it's not over yet.

I got off my bed, sat on my study chair, then concentrated on imagining Ayre, trying to connect my mind with her, going through dimensions and time.

Ayre didn't know if that would help. But it's better than doing nothing.

Having no power in this situation was really frustrating, but I had no other choice.

My hope is in you, Ayre. I'll come back and beat up that bitch.
