Bran walks alone, wearing thick clothes. The former kingdom's mage soldier took a deep breath and looked at the individuals playing mini soccer, then at the minotaurs grappling not far away.

"Tsk." He continued walking, unable to understand why they would do such an activity in this cold.

And their laughter irritated him.

"Hey, Bran!" A blue-haired succubus landed in front of that man. "Let's have fun! We haven't done that in a while! This time I'm willing to be the horse!"

"I'm not in the mood, Mhyra." Bran sighed as he continued walking. "Begone."

Mhyra snorted and tugged at the man's hand. "Oh, come on. You always say yes."

Bran shook off the woman's hand. "Leave me alone, bitch."

The succubus puffed her cheeks, then flew away from Bran, who took another step.

"You don't usually refuse a succubus. You're the one chasing them, right?" With a wooden box in both hands, Robyn stopped in her tracks with Lexi.

Bran looked at that woman, then answered coldly. "That is none of your business."

"You've just been walking around with a glum face lately." Robyn approached the man. "You really don't like women anymore? Isn't this what you want, relaxing every day, eating, sleeping, having sex…."

"I told you, this is none of your business." Bran interrupted Robyn through gritted teeth.

Robyn flashed a sinister smile. "I know why you are like this. You feel useless for not doing anything. Even the kids are helping others or practicing. You want to have a role here."

Bran spread his arms and let out a bitter laugh. "Is there anything else I can do!? Those shapeshifters can already open pocket dimension portals! They can also teach their juniors more efficiently!"

"But you love magic, Bran." Lexi, who had been silent all this time, finally joined in. "I see it from the way you teach them. You are really passionate about explaining every detail."

"But, I think he's a jerk when he's a teacher." Robyn raised an eyebrow. "Luckily, those shapeshifters don't like to complain."

"That doesn't answer my question!" Bran is increasingly frustrated with the situation. He thought it might be better to be a government soldier. Despite being discriminated against, he has a role in the army. "I don't have the ability to do research like you, Doc! I can't make devil's grains like that!"

He was referring to the dark purple grains in the wooden boxes Robyn and Lexi had brought.

"You know that these are devil's grains?" Lexi tilted her head. "Very few people know about this."

Bran looked away. "The purple color is not perfect, maybe because it is still in the research stage, but those are definitely devil's grains. It was a crop that was the main food for demons, had a short harvest time, and was poisonous if eaten by non-demons."

Suddenly Lexi jogged closer to Bran. The doctor's eyes lit up. "You studied demonology too?"

Bran frowned at Lexi's sudden enthusiasm. "Well, I don't study demons specifically. I just enjoy reading about lost magic knowledge and technology."

"Ah…." Lexi adjusted her glasses. "Perhaps there is something that will suit you."

"Suit me?" That man frowned. "Like what?"

[Vorn's POV]

Because many things happened after the fight against the fairy, I haven't chosen my newest skill after leveling up. So, now I'm sitting on the throne, scrolling through the list of skills I can choose.

Meanwhile, John–now disguised as Henry, the commander–was reporting to me via long-distance communication.

When I reached the bottom of the list, I found four skill icons with 'new' written next to each. Those skills choices only appeared after I reached level five, like now.

Huh?

My attention was drawn to the last skill, 'Great Sacrifice.'

[You can sacrifice important parts of yourself, be it skills, body parts, etc. However, after that, you cannot recover it. What you sacrifice must also be whole. (For example, you can't offer one eye, but you can sacrifice all of your sights)]

At first, I was baffled by that skill. It would only harm me. However, I remembered Faye's words.

For time travel to be successful, something of value must be sacrificed from a high creature. And the high creature must really lose that something.

But will I need to time travel again in the future though?

"So that's my report, my lord." John ended his speech. "The bottom line is, the Durcia Kingdom isn't going to attack anytime soon, and I was tasked with persuading that neighboring country to send the prophet."

I rubbed my chin, starting to think. Even though I was busy with the skill board, I still listened to what John said.

"Well, I already knew their king was a fool. Otherwise, they would have attacked us again." I muttered. "That greatly benefits us…. Then, regarding the negotiation of the prophet, let me think of a strategy. Now I want to talk to you about something more important."

"What is it, my lord?"

I leaned my back against the throne. "Find out Marco Clarke. A tall man with light brown hair and round glasses. He may work as a government official in research."

It was the name of the person Ayre was discussing yesterday. A man suspected of being a scientist at a secret facility.

"Will do, my lord…." John's words paused, then he lowered his voice. "I must go now, my lord. A government official wants to see me."

"Sure, good luck." I hung up the call just as a succubus brought a man in front of me.

"Good afternoon, my lord. We're sorry to disturb you." The succubus bowed. "He said he wanted to talk to you."

I looked at the buck-toothed man. He looked down, not daring to look at me. "Can I help you, Bran?"

"Forgive me in advance, my lord." He lifted his face, though he still looked frightened. "I just want to say, so far, I have not had any role here."

To be honest, I don't know what job to give him. He had already completed his task of teaching about the pocket dimension portal.

"So you asked for a job? How admirable you are. "I kept watching him. "What's in your mind?"

He gulped. "I heard you kept the fragments of the demon chariot."
