269 Fight (8)

“Cyra!” Blake’s voice traveled through the isolated ground inside the two barriers of pure darkness and dark flames.

As if already knowing what he meant by a simple shout of her name, Cyra kept her eyes locked onto the charging muscular humanoid demon right in front of her.

There’s barely any time for her to move or dodge anywhere outside of the muscular humanoid demon’s reach. He was just too fast for Cyra to be able to outdo him in anything physical related.

However, instead of the almost-sure impending doom right in front of her, Cyra didn’t cower and instead glared at the muscular humanoid demon with an unshakeable resolve written in her eyes. freewebnov(e)l

When the muscular humanoid demon’s palm was about to reach her neck, Cyra didn’t do anything to dodge it and instead willed something in her mind.

And to answer her call, a ball of dark flame, one that looked similar yet different from the usual dark flame fireball, slithered past her back and put itself right in the trajectory of the muscular humanoid demon’s open palm.

The muscular humanoid demon did not feel it before, but now that the dark flame ball was actually right in front of his reach, he could finally sense a massive amount of nether being condensed inside the dark flame ball.

He was ready to take a risk and break the status quo that would end in his doom, but seeing a dark flame ball that contained such a scary amount of nether, even the brave muscular humanoid demon couldn’t ignore the screaming instincts that told him to get away from the dark flame ball as far away as possible.

The muscular humanoid demon didn’t even dare to try and punch the dark flame ball away as the fear of the condensed nether decided to explode at point-blank range to his face wasn’t something that he could afford to happen.

.....

Using his incredibly high physique stat and body control, the muscular humanoid demon was able to break his momentum by doing a spin, and send his body sideways, a step away from the ball of condensed dark flame.

Unfortunately for the muscular humanoid demon though, just a split second after his feet touched the ground, the condensed dark flame fireball suddenly turned bright, showing off demonic runes that weren’t there before on its surface.

It only stayed on the surface of the dark flame ball for a blink of an eye before the muscular humanoid demon felt an abrupt transfer of nether from the condensed ball of dark flame to somewhere else.

And that somewhere else was none other than beneath his own feet.

Glancing downward, the demonic runes that the muscular humanoid demon saw earlier in the dark flame ball suddenly appeared right below him.

Not the same smaller one that he saw on the small ball of dark flame. But it was instead a man-sized one that was enough to hit his whole body. Heck, it was so big that even Cyra herself was still standing above the giant set of runes despite being a few steps away from the muscular humanoid demon.

The alarm that hadn’t stopped ringing in the muscular humanoid demon’s brain rang even louder than before, telling him that whatever kind of spell was about to manifest from the set of runes would be the death of him.

Not even wasting a split second to think about what kind of spell he had to face, the muscular humanoid demon instantly send his nether to his wings to lighten his body and simultaneously kicked his feet against the ground as hard as he could. Even harder than before when he tried to catch Cyra off guard.

Although there was a chance that he would crash straight into the wall of dark flames that isolated the area, the muscular humanoid demon trusted his instinct that told him whatever spell was about to manifest was far more dangerous than the simple wall of the vicious dark flame.

Cyra had just used her new ability that she got after evolving. With how the ability worked, Cyra didn’t need to wait for the loading phase where nether would fill up the runes to manifest the spell contained inside the runes.

She had already done that beforehand by sending her nether through the condensed ball of dark flame. And right now, the spell didn’t need to gather any more nether since Cyra had given it enough nether when it was still contained inside the ball.

As a result, the muscular humanoid demon, who should have gotten at least one second to one and a half seconds to get out of the area lost those precious seconds as the spell almost instantly manifested itself after the set of runes was transferred from the condensed ball of darkness to the ground beneath Cyra and the muscular humanoid demon.

If he had those one second spare time, then the muscular humanoid demon would have definitely escaped unscathed with his powerful kick and his body that had been lightened by his wings.

However, with the one-second spare time gone, the muscular humanoid demon was only able to move so much in that split second, albeit the powerful and explosive movements, that one of his feet was still inside the range of the set of runes when the spell manifested.

From the huge set of runes, a towering pillar of dark flame appeared out of the ground, easily blasting onto the roof of the darkness barrier that Blake had created with his rune formations.

The darkness barrier which should have been able to take a couple of hits from Robus before his evolution, didn’t even stand a chance against the rising pillar of dark flame as it evaporated the darkness barrier out of existence the moment the pillar of dark flame met the darkness barrier.

And even though the muscular humanoid demon’s muscle and flesh were definitely tougher than Blake’s ordinary darkness barrier, muscle and flesh were the things that the dark flame really liked to attach itself to.

In the initial burst of flame, the explosive force of the dark flame pillar was enough to throw the feet upward, sending the muscular humanoid demon’s whole body crashing straight into the ground below even with the initial momentum that his kick had built up.

And not only that, the heat that came out of the dark flame pillar was even more condensed with the dark flame fireballs, eating through the muscular humanoid demon’s flesh almost instantly, only leaving a charred bone that somehow survived the ordeal.

The muscular humanoid demon was quite in a predicament right now, but it was still not the end for him.

With one foot gone from his body, he still has another one. And not to say that his other body parts besides his one foot were still in pristine condition.

He might have lost a foot, but he escaped with his life nonetheless.

Or at least that was what was supposed to happen.

Before the muscular humanoid demon could even raise his face that had been planted onto the ground, another condensed ball appeared right above him.

However, different from the dark flame ball that had a mix of the color red and black, the ball that had just appeared was pure black on all sides, not a single other color existed on its jet-black surface.
