268 Fight (7)

A few moments right when the walls of dark flames and darkness barrier had just been erected, Blake materialized the new ball of darkness that he just got, the one from Cyra’s evolved bloodline ability, and sent it backward.

Moving it slowly and covertly along with the dark flame walls, masking it with the huge presence of the dark flame walls.

The muscular humanoid demon, the one that Blake tried to keep inside by erecting those two barriers, was currently trying to hit Cyra’s head with his fist, something that he wasn’t able to achieve since Cyra could simply phase through the wall of dark flame and hide behind it.

And for someone who had a taste of how vicious those flames were, there was no other better deterrence for the muscular humanoid demon other than a towering wall of dark flames, one that was even taller than himself.

They had been playing the hit and run battle ever since the barriers were erected. And even though Blake and Cyra didn’t have a single wound on their bodies yet even when fighting the muscular humanoid demon for a long time, the same could be said for the muscular humanoid demon as he was also currently unscathed.

Ever since knowing each other’s abilities, the three of them had been playing it rather safely all this time.

Blake knew that he would be in a world of pain if he was ever touched by the muscular humanoid demon’s body as it could paralyze him, which was something that he wouldn’t want to happen considering how many punches the muscular humanoid demon with his strong physique could do in just a second of him being paralyzed.

Even after evolving, Blake still found the muscular humanoid demon’s speed to be very fast.

Blake could catch his movements now rather than just seeing a blur, but if he dared to take his eyes off of the muscular humanoid demon for a second, then he could expect the muscular demon to suddenly appear right in front of his face from a dozen meters away.

.....

The same goes for Cyra, even harder for her considering she was even more spirit stat focused compared to Blake.

While Blake could still manage to respond to the muscular humanoid demon’s attack by dodging sideways or even drawing a spell to disrupt his flow, Cyra wouldn’t even hesitate for a second to go behind the wall of dark flames the second she realized a blur was coming in her direction.

For the muscular humanoid demon, he already knew about the dark flames that would literally eat his whole being alive even if only a teeny tiny spark caught onto him. He would not save up his nether and instantly coat his fists with his bloodline power if he knew that he couldn’t dodge an attack coming from Blake or Cyra.

He also made sure to keep watch on Blake and his hands. Particularly when the jet-black humanoid demon was reaching into the pouch tied to his waist.

He still remembered the rune formation that the jet-black humanoid demon had. Although it wasn’t as grand as the scrawny humanoid demon’s usual rune formation, a rune formation was still a rune formation, it could give a huge impact on the battle, just like last time when he was caught off guard by the sudden appearance of a huge manhole under his feet.

That single moment was all it took for him to be tied up with darkness tendrils and almost got his soul reaped out of his body if not for his almost suicidal decision to let the dark flame fireball hit his body and disintegrate the darkness tendrils holding his huge body down.

The muscular humanoid demon did not want such things to ever happen again. Hence why he threw out his usual aggressive fighting style, putting caution into it and taking fewer gambles than he would usually take.

As a result of the two sides’ approach to the fight, the fight wasn’t going anywhere other than the two sides emptying their nether reserves.

But if it continues to be like this, it would be unfortunate for the muscular humanoid demon considering his two enemies were monsters in terms of nether capacity.

One was a flame variant demon that could already throw dozens of fireballs in half a minute without hurting her nether reserve even before she made a covenant with Blake and evolved.

While the other was a demon with nether capacity so high and high quality that he could cast two second realm darkness spells while still in the first demon realm, something that not even the scrawny humanoid demon or Vera could do.

The muscular humanoid demon, of course, didn’t know about those two facts. He had never seen the two of them do any of those things. Even when fighting him before and almost killing him, Blake didn’t use any second realm darkness spells and Cyra didn’t just spam her skills wantonly and instead followed Blake’s instructions to help him trap the muscular humanoid demon with his rune formations.

However, what the muscular humanoid demon knew was that his nether capacity was limited and the fight so far had been constantly eating through his not-so-high reserves while not producing any kind of worthwhile results.

Knowing what would happen to him if he ran out of nether and lost the ability to punch the dark flames out of existence, the muscular humanoid demon knew that he needed to be the one that broke the status quo.

And considering how dangerous, annoying, and cunning his enemies were, the muscular humanoid demon wouldn’t simply change his gears and went back to his usual aggressive battle style. He would need to take his time, waiting for the perfect moment for him to act and create the chance to do significant damage.

The muscular humanoid demon was once again being kited around by the two demons, and after failing to hit Blake once again after chasing him and dodging another dark flame fireball by Cyra, the muscular humanoid demon saw how close Cyra was to him.

With a single powerful kick against the ground, the muscular humanoid demon flew in Cyra’s direction and arrived right in front of her almost in a blink of an eye.

It caught both Blake and Cyra off-guard since Cyra had never moved so close to the muscular humanoid demon for the past minutes the two sides were exchanging attacks with each other.

Blake had told her about what they should do earlier in the fight with the muscular humanoid demon. And although it wasn’t a detailed plan like he used to tell her, it should be clear enough about what she should and should not do when fighting against the muscular humanoid demon.

However, evaluation could come later as right now, Cyra had a predicament that she had to deal with lest she wants her skull to be crushed by the muscular humanoid demon’s huge and powerful fist.

With the distance between Cyra and the muscular humanoid demon being literally an arm’s length away, Cyra quickly sends a burst of her fiery nether forward, in hopes of shooting herself backward and also deterring the muscular humanoid demon from getting closer to her.

Knowing how afraid the muscular humanoid demon was of the dark flames and how he had been very cautious about it, she thought that it would be enough to keep the muscular humanoid demon away while she was on her way to hide behind the tall wall of dark flames.

However, Cyra did not expect that the muscular humanoid demon didn’t retreat and instead kept his eyes locked onto hers as if wanting to swallow her whole.

Right after he kicked his feet against the ground, the muscular humanoid demon had already poured more nether into the runes on his back, sending his bloodline power to his fists as he flew straight towards Cyra.

Knowing the abilities of the dark flame variant demon, the muscular humanoid demon already had several guesses about what the demon would do if he suddenly charged straight against her.

Fortunately for him, Cyra panicking and bursting her fiery nether to the front was one of the guesses that he had made earlier.

So when he saw the dark flames start manifesting in front of him, the muscular humanoid demon instantly clapped his two hands together.

With the fists overfilled with his bloodline power and his own intentions to send his bloodline power outside his body, the bloodline power that was only supposed to work when it made contact with its target traveled outward from the center of the clapping palms.

The spread out bloodline power of the muscular humanoid demon spread outward, destroying the dark flames before too many of them could manifest themselves, erasing them before they could even touch his body.

However, the bloodline power shockwave didn’t just stop there.

With the explosion that supposedly sent her flying suddenly erased, Cyra wasn’t able to get away quick enough and was hit by the muscular humanoid demon’s bloodline power, freezing her whole body from head to toe, unable to move a single finger as the bloodline power coursed through her.
