256 Cyra’s New Ability (2)

Blake had never had the problem of manually controlling the darkness elements to realize his complicated spells since the runes that he drew did all the complicated nether manipulation he needed, enabling him to cast a complex spell such as the mass marking spell to mark his enemies and the myriad of darkness tendril spell to only target those who had his mark.

But for Cyra to be able to do the same thing, it would take a lot of her mental prowess to do that.

In order for Cyra to cast the dark flame pillar without her new ability, she would need to gather a massive amount of nether, an amount that she would need almost all of her attention to control, suppress them in one spot, before then releasing them all in one direction to make sure that the flames didn’t spread out everywhere.

It would be possible for Cyra to do that due to her naturally high innate ability to control her nether. But it would certainly be considerably harder to do than what she had just done with her new ability and it would also take her a much longer time to manifest the spell.

However, with the new ability of her bloodline power that enabled her to store a spell that she wanted, Cyra could do all that by just simply sending enough nether to the ball of dark flame that floated beside her.

How the floating ball works were by Cyra learning a set of runes or sending her intention towards it so that the ball could copy it inside itself and later it would be able to use the nether sent to it to realize the copied spell inside.

Since Cyra had never used such a spell before, it was Blake and Vera who taught her how to cast the darkness pillar flame by teaching her the runes.

It took her about a dozen times before succeeding to store the spell properly inside the dark flame ball due to the spell’s quite complex runes, but they had a lot of time while traveling through the wilderness of the main continent, enough for Cyra to be able to try as much as she wanted until she finally got it.

And now, seeing she succeeded in casting the spell in a fight properly, defeating the huge snake in one simple move, Blake couldn’t help but smile proudly at the demoness who seemed to have only grown stronger each day they were together.

.....

Moreover, seeing the usefulness of the new power Cyra got from her bloodline power, Blake himself was also excited about it.

Why not? He was also able to use the same bloodline power as her, even the evolved version of it just like how he was also able to make a dark earth spear using Robus’ evolved bloodline power.

And although he hadn’t put any kind of spell inside his darkness elemental ball, Blake was already capable of summoning the little floating ball due to watching Cyra when she first struggled to get used to it.

‘What spell should I put here…?’ Blake thought to himself as he stared at the pitch-black ball floating near his head.

Even though it was completely black in color, Blake had already tested it before by adding simple spells such as the darkness bullet spell, a simple fireball spell, and an earth spike spell, and they all worked just fine. Blake wasn’t constrained by any kind of affinities in terms of the spell that he could store despite the appearance of the floating ball literally screaming it was made only of the darkness element.

He had a plethora of options, which was both a blessing and a curse since it meant that Blake had a lot of spells that he could incorporate and different kinds of strategies that he could use in different situations, but he also didn’t know which one that he could use to get the most benefits with.

He could go with the simplest, safest option, and that was to put complicated spells such as the flame pillar spell or even the second realm darkness tendril spell since those spells took Blake more than a whole second to cast and manifest into the world and simply sending his nether to the floating black ball to activate those kinds of spell would definitely benefit him.

However, with so many options, Blake shelved that choice for now and began to think about the many other spells that he had, even the ones that looked very simple to try and think about whether he could gain an exploit by copying such spells instead.

‘Wait, this ball can be moved right?’ Blake suddenly thought as he commanded the ball to move forward, away from him.

And just as he willed, the floating black ball shot forward, going into the exact position where Blake wanted it to be. Even the speed of the floating ball was very fast, only slightly slower compared to the darkness bullet spell.

‘If it’s like this… Then I can probably use it to..’

“Brother! There’s something over there!” Cyra shouted as she take a good look at their surroundings from on top of Robus’ back after eating the soul of the giant snake.

Hearing Cyra’s shout, Blake turned his head towards her before then followed her pointed fingers to look in a certain direction, the same direction that their souls were telling them to go.

His mind was too occupied with the giant snake and what kind of spell he would store inside the floating black ball that Blake had forgotten about their destination for a good minute or two.

And when he saw what Vera was pointing at, Blake finally realized that they were already close to their destination.

On the edge of the horizon, tall black walls that were barely visible from his location stood stall, possibly keeping the actual destination that he and his group needed to go to behind those tall black walls.

“Let’s let loose a little bit folks,” Blake said as the group started making their way towards what was most likely another base of the humanoid demons from the second realm.

If it was before he, Cyra, and Robus evolved, then Blake would certainly not say those words as going in with blind confidence would only result in him possibly losing his life.

But now with his whole group evolved, and with Vera’s knowledge telling them that those demons from the second realm had their real strength forcibly sealed away to be able to exist in the first demon realm, Blake knew that his current confidence wasn’t misplaced.

Moreover, there were 4 of them right now instead of only three. If they had to fight multiple enemies, then certainly an addition of another rune master, one that belonged to even deeper realms compared to the humanoid demons they were fighting with would benefit BLake so much that he could tone down his carefulness several levels down.

But still, toning it down and completely erasing it were totally different things. Blake still took his steps forward towards the humanoid demon’s base with several preparations in mind.

And one of them, of course, was to choose the spell that he wanted to store at his floating black ball from Cyra’s bloodline power. And additional preparations were also done by making more rune formations that Blake thought might be useful in another fight with the humanoid demons.

Blake could use the trees that were available all over their path towards the base, but with Vera around, Blake didn’t need to do arts and crafts first to create the medium for his rune formations as Vera was prepared with more wooden boxes, ones that looked very similar to the wooden boxes that she used to store in the whirlwind spell and the fire pillar spell.

It took the group another hour before finally arrived right in front of the tall black walls that towered even Robus. Seeing it up close, Blake could understand how the humanoid demons could feel safer inside the walls that looked sturdy and strong enough to maybe even hold out against more than several of Robus’ punches.

When the group neared the base, Blake planned to observe the base first from all sides, wanting to see whether there were any exploits that he could do first such as destroying a rune formation inscribed on the tall black walls just like in the second humanoid demon base.

However, before Blake could even observe the base properly from afar, Blake found out that the front entrance of the base was already wide open, and not a single humanoid demon was standing near the gate or even anywhere outside the tall black walls.

The unmanned front gate that opened tall and wide seemed to be inviting Blake and his group to come inside, something that Blake certainly did not expect when he visited a humanoid demon’s base.

And as if to prove his thought correct, when Blake and the group finally got close enough to see the inside of the gate properly, what they saw were three humanoid demons standing tall, staring back at them some distance back from behind the opened-up front gate.
