Chapter 346: Racing

I was not fazed at all. “Miss Mai Qi, before you say anything, you do know that villains die from talking too much.”

Mai Qi was angry, but she couldn’t say anything because Jing Ni had moved to cover her mouth.

“Calm down and be nice. Remember, disaster comes from the mouth. But most importantly, she still controls the steering wheel!” Jing Ni told Mai Qi seriously.

Mai Qi pushed Jing Ni’s hand away and growled. “Jing Ni, tomorrow, we’ll start preparing for our driver’s licenses too. In the future, we can drive ourselves. That way, we won’t need to worry about our personal safety and suffer this girl’s torment anymore!”

I laughed wickedly.

Jing Ni sighed helplessly and muttered, “Nanxing, please watch the road!”

I shrugged her off. “Don’t worry, my dear. I’m a very skilled driver!”

However, just as I said that a car materialized from behind us. It moved to drive beside me. The passenger window rolled down, and a young man with dyed hair whistled and shouted something.

I lowered my window slightly, and the voice carried over in the wind, “Hey, pretty lady. Nice car, care to play?”

I glanced at him, rolled up the window, and stepped on the gas pedal.

“Ah!” The two people in the back seat screamed and crashed into the car seat.

I was apologetic. “Sorry, I should have warned you. This was an emergency, and I didn’t have time.”

Mai Qi covered her face and yelled, “Nanxing, you better be careful! Thankfully this face is real. If it’s filled with silicon, it would have burst already!”

I chuckled.

Jing Ni was gentler in her response. She rubbed her nose, and she carefully said, “Nanxing, dear, we’re in a four-wheel vehicle, not a bicycle. As they say, a car is a moving death trap. A small mistake, and we’d kill someone. I really wish for us to reach home alive.”

I looked through the rearview mirror and saw the dyed-hair man was still sticking close to us. He had his hand out the window and was waving it around.

I kept my foot on the gas. I noticed that when I was going really fast, my control of the car became steadier and my limbs more coordinated. It looks like I was quite a racer. I took note of this in my heart.

Mai Qi grabbed the handrail of the door. “Na-Nanxing, we’re in no hurry to get home. Can you slow down? Ah! Slow down!”

Jing Ni added, “That’s right, Nanxing. Please slow down so Mai Qi and I can appreciate the scenery along the way. Alright?”

I retorted, “What is there to appreciate? We use this route every day. You know every single telephone pole on this stretch of the road.”

Mai Qi couldn’t take it anymore. “Nanxing, this is your first day on the road. You don’t want to be caught by the police so soon, right? If you keep doing this, the police are going to be notified!”

I forgot about that! Since our villas were far from the city, the road became wide after we left the city. There was no car on the road. It was perfect for drag racing but of course, that was illegal.

How could I forget about that? With that in mind, I slowed down.

I looked at the rearview mirror and said, “But that bastard and his friends are annoying. They’re following us.”

Mai Qi and Jing Ni saw the man too. Jing Ni said, “Ignore them. Our safety is more important.”

Mai Qi nodded. “Yes, they’re just a bunch of little bastards. Why lower ourselves to their level?”
