Khal followed the old Berserker from behind and listened to what he was telling him.
"I have many Martial Techniques from movement and martial skills all the way to weapon techniques while also having support techniques such as this little baby here." the Berserker picked up a white scroll and showed it to Khal with a smile.
"Although this is only a Mortal Grade technique, this Body Reinforcement Skill is capable of turning your muscles and tendons as hard as steel which could come in handy any time."
Khal examined the scroll and pondered. According to the Record of All Realms, every Martial Technique can be learned if given the time, but one also has to meet the requirements such as the Cultivation Stage.
For instance, while Mortal Grade techniques can be learned by anyone, Earth Grade Martial Techniques can be used if one reached the Second Stage, the Body Refiner Stage!
Meanwhile, Heaven Grade techniques required one to be at the Third, at the Body Temperer Stage while Celestial Grade ones could be learned only by those that reached the Fourth Cultivation Stage, the Limit Breaker Stage!
As for Peak Celestial Grade techniques, which were quite rare to find in the Second Realm, one needs to reach the final stage and become an Ascender just to have the chance to practice it much less use it!
So, as far as Khal could see it, his threshold right now was an Earth Grade technique and one that only at the Low Level. Any more than that would be meaningless as his body was not strong enough yet.
"Is there any Earth Grade movement technique that is below the High Level?"
Khal asked after a moment of silence.
"Earth Grade? But isn't the Young Master only an Awakened? I hope Young Master knows Awakened ones cannot learn Earth Grade Techniques." the Berserker asked with a raised brow.
Khal nodded and raised his hand before crimson flames started to dance around his fingers that seemed both dangerous and serine at the same time.
"B-Body Refiner!?" the berserker looked shocked, and took half a step back unconsciously.
Khal just simply smiled at the reaction and clenched his fingers into a fist, extinguishing the flames in a flash.
"So? Do you have any movement techniques?"
The Berserker snapped out his daze and quickly nodded, "S-Sure! Let me show Young Master right away."
Leading the way now with quicker steps, the Berserker took down several silver scrolls and put them on a desk before Khal.
"These are the best Earth Grade movement techniques that are below the High Level. Take your time to inspect them."
Khal nodded and picked up one of the scrolls and opened it. However, as there was a seal on it, preventing anyone from learning the techniques in the store without paying for it, Khal was able to get only a glimpse of what it was capable of.
"That skill is called the Calm Flow. It's quite a good movement technique for an ambush as it makes its user approach their enemies without a sound." the Berserker explained while he wiped thick, bean-sized sweat drops from his forehead.
He was still under the immense shock that Khal was a Body Refiner, and now finally understood just how big a mistake he did with trying to fool Khal.
As Planet Katrov was not a globe filled with experts, if Khal wished for it, he could have easily cut off his head and escaped without anyone noticing it. Right now, he could bless the gods above that his life was still intact and Khal had no malicious intents.
Khal looked at the scroll with a pondering look and shook his head before placing it back onto the desk and grabbing another one.
"That one is a good one too, but I wouldn't call that a movement technique."
"Why?" Khal asked without raising his gaze away from the scroll.
"Cause it's just way too loud and brutal." the Berserker explained and continued, "In my opinion, movement techniques should allow their users to move swiftly, quietly, and smoothly. Like a single leaf dancing during autumn in a breeze."
"However, although this technique makes one move fast, exceptionally fast, it's as loud as thunder! Using this during a fight is akin to telling the enemy where you are!"
'So that is why it's called Lightning Steps...' Khal thought and without exclaiming his thought, he examined the rest of the scrolls on the desk.
But it seemed that the rest of the Martial Techniques didn't make his interest piqued, thus he didn't hesitate and grabbed the scroll which was the Lightning Step.
"I will choose this."
"A-Are you sure about this? There are more movement techniques, each of them having better potential and usage than that one." The Berserker asked, a little hesitant.
"Yeah, I am rock solid. I will choose this and like you have said, I can take this free, right?" Khal asked with a curved mouth.
The Berserker's brow twitched seeing Khal's smile, but quickly remember just what his strength was thus quickly swallowed down what he wished to say together with his pride and nodded.
"N-Naturally! I am a man so it's also true I will keep my words. If I said you can choose one Martial Technique freely, then I will allow you to do that." the Berserker forced a smile, pretending that it didn't hurt him at all that one of his Martial Techniques had been sold out for free.
"Perfect!" Khal smiled brightly and put the scroll into his spatial ring before he glanced around once again and asked, "Anyways, can you show me weapon-associated skills?"
'...'
Hearing that the Berserker didn't respond and just stood still Khal sighed and said, "Don't worry, I will pay this time. I am not that shameless after all..."
"H-Huh? N-No, I apologize, I didn't mean like that!" the Berserker waved his hands around quickly, feeling even more anxious than before, but as he didn't wish to sell any more Martial Techniques for free nor did he wish to anger Khal, he placed the scrolls from the desk back to their original spot before leading Khal into a new room.
