Khal watched as Jas confronted the beast head-on even after knowing the difference in strength, feeling a tinge of worry.
But his worry was fairly short-lived. Just a second later as Jas's fist could have come into contact with the beast's body, a figure holding a deep crimson sword suddenly appeared between the two.
"Logan!?" Khal was surprised to see Logan's fast movement which was almost on par with the Moonlight Rabbit's, but the following scene shocked him even deeper.
Swinging his crimson weapon just in time, Khal watched as Logan deflected the creature's attack and was sent flying into the distance just like he was previously, his fate completely unknown.
Although Khal survived the assault from the beast and the impact, it didn't mean Logan was capable of surviving such a strong blow with his body being not tempered and refined as such as his.
However, Khal couldn't worry about Logan's well-being as exactly because of this sacrifice of his Jas was able to get next to the rabbit's side and land a perfect blow on its body.
Swish!
BOOOM!
A perfect fit at the perfect time. Jas' fist buried itself into the Moonlight Rabbit's side, crushing several ribs inside of its body before slamming its body away like a ragdoll.
Khal showed a grin as he knew this strike was definitely enough to kill the beast. Or even if not, Khal was pretty sure the Moonlight Rabbit was severely damaged, both internally and externally, so it was only a matter of time before they will kill it.
However, reality sometimes fails to be as we plan it to be, and this was the case too. The moment the creature's body crashed into the side, silver light exploded forth from the crevice before the rabbit's figure emerged from among dust and debris, its entire body enveloped in a silver glow.
"What is happening?" Khal raised his head at the darkening sky above but his face immediately paled upon realization and snapped his head toward Jas, ready to warn him.
But it was already too late, and he couldn't even mutter a single sound before he watched blood spill before his eyes.
"Argh!" Jas clenched his teeth together and placed his right hand on his left shoulder and watched his left hand lying before his feet in the distance.
Just now, if it weren't for his years of life and death fights which honed his senses to tremendous heights, he wouldn't have been able to stand in one piece where he was for sure.
"This creature is just way too scary... Even though I have reacted in time I still lost one of my arms..." Jas groaned with pain and watched as the Moonlight Rabbit stood in the distance, its bloodlust-filled gaze fixed on him. It was obvious it held a grudge against him because of his previous strike.
But at the same time, it was impossible to not notice the deep and frozen wound on the creature's side that Jas caused with his strike. This made Khal sigh with relief and know that their chance for victory maybe was not absolute, it was still very high.
'Though, to think this Moonlight Rabbit unlocked its hidden ability and used it at this moment... We are extremely lucky it has such a huge weakness or else we would stand by chance at all.' sighed Khal inwardly.
According to his book, Moonlight Rabbits' ability was their extreme speed, but there was this minuscule possibility where they unlock another one, known as Moon Summoning.
When they use Moon Summoning, no matter if it was during daytime or not, their strength will be doubled immediately for a short period. This meant, if they were to fight this beast during the night while it also used its Moon Summoning ability, its strength would become four times that of its original, making it an existence that no one can rival in the First Realm!
'Luckily, it has already reached its limit.' thought Khal and unsummoned his weapons.
"It's about time to end this."
After taking a deep breath, Khal dashed forward and in a split second appeared before the wounded beast.
The Moonlight Rabbit noticed Khal's approach and was about to move when Khal's body suddenly expanded and shifted while a suffocating presence broke out of him, making its body froze up on the spot from sheer fear!
Swish!
BOOOM!
With a huge and powerful bite, Khal swallowed the whole beast together with a large portion of the ground down with a single gulp and quickly changed back to his human form.
'...'
Jas stared at Khal with slacked jaw, feeling as though he just hallucinated a second ago. Did Khal really just turn into a huge serpent and gulp the beast down in whole or did he go insane? Since when did Khal acquire such a ridiculous ability?
Of course, it was only natural for Jas to have such a reaction as Khal didn't tell him about him obtaining a Beast Core after killing the World Devourer.
Khal just shook his head feeling the gaze on the skin, but knowing there was something much important to take care of the vanished and reappeared at the spot where Logan crashed.
Tossing the huge stone pieces to the side as though they weight nothing, Khal brought Logan's body out from the debris and examined his condition.
And a second later he sighed with relief and stood up.
"He is alive, but if he does not get treatment shortly his life will be in danger."
"I will bring him back to Moon City, you wait here until then," Jas said and after putting Logan's unconscious body over his shoulder he teleported away.
Khal seeing as he was left alone fell onto his butt and sighed deeply. Although he would say the fight was easier than he first believed it to be, it was still a hard-fought fight that cost way too much.
Not only did Jas lose one of his arms during their fight while he sustained several internal injuries from the blow from the beast with his enhanced physical strength, but even Logan was put before death's door from where he was lucky enough to come back with who knows what miracle.
Khal was pretty sure Logan used some kind of trick to save his life at the very last moment, but what method he did was currently unknown. Everything happened just way too fast, even with his Heaven's Eyes active.
While Khal waited in silence, suddenly he felt a familiar feeling wash through his body out of nowhere.
"This..." Khal snapped his eyes open, seemingly in disbelief.
