Time passed in silence and the three replenished their strength and energy until dawn.
Once the sun was visible on the horizon, the three slowly opened their eyes simultaneously and stood up.
"Ready?"
Logan and Khal nodded hearing Jas' question, their whole being emitting a kind of profound aura that showed only confidence.
"Perfect. Then let's do as we have discussed."
With that, the three entered the cave with Khal being on the front, Jas being in the middle, and Logan walking at the rear.
The three walked in silence and once they were deep inside, Jas took out a cube from his spatial ring and tossed it into the air.
Swish!
Immediately, the cube floated above the three and lit up with white light, enveloping their surroundings in bright light.
At the same time as the path in front of him became visible, Khal activated his Heaven's Eyes and summoned his Devil Fangs into his right while his Life and Death Sword into his left hand.
"Let's go," Khal said quietly once he took a deep breath and proceeded to walk forward with steps that carried caution.
Jas and Logan seemed to be on the edge too, but knowing that Khal was capable of detecting every movement around them from all angles and from a huge distance, they didn't fear getting ambushed like last time when they visited this place.
The cave was obviously man-made as the curved walls and ceiling were curved and way too smooth to be formed through natural means. What's more, the entire path was unnaturally huge, to the point where twenty people could have easily stood beside each other, and even then there would be space for a carriage to pass by without hitting anyone.
However, the biggest problem was not the huge open space which will only make the battle much harder as that meant the Moonlight Rabbit will have more area to move around and attack, but the several holes at the bottom which seemed to be formed as tunnels.
Khal was told that when Jas and Logan first fought with the creature, the Moonlight Rabbit used these tunnels as a way to escape and assault them. And with its insane speed, such a method of attacking was extremely hard to counter to the point where Jas and Logan had to retreat after only a few seconds.
Though, it didn't mean Khal felt nervous or scared. He was confident in his Heaven's Eyes, particularly after he reached the Ninth Stage. No matter how fast the creature was, Khal was pretty confident he will be able to track its movement and warn the two behind him when it appears. Also, he had his Bloodshed Touch which helps him see the creature even through walls, so he felt rather soothed.
Khal led the way forward with cautious steps and it wasn't long before he noticed something in the distance. It was a silver gate with several white symbols carved atop its surface while in its very center a blue gem representing a full moon was etched.
Khal inspected the gate with a nonchalant expression, but soon his eyes snapped to the side and shouted, "From the right!"
Jas who stood behind Khal reacted in a split second and jumped several meters backward, only to see a silver flash pass through the spot where he was a second ago and vanish in one of the tunnels on the side!
"So you try to run, huh?" Khal smiled and without a second thought used his Hell Blaze and fired at the tunnel where the Moon Rabbit vanished into.
BAM!
The moment the crimson fire filled the tunnel, pillars of flames started to explode out from the rest of the shafts while the silver creature flashed out and quickly vanished inside the tunnels on the other side.
"Do it!" Khal shouted, and watched as Logan summoned his black flames and fired pillars of fire at the holes in the same manner as Khal did.
Swish!
And just as they thought, this was enough to lure the beast out and once it was outside Jas moved with lightning speed and swung his fist.
Swish!
BOOOM!
Jas' punch shook the entire surroundings while it left a deep pit on the ground, but unfortunately, it still missed its target.
The creature has avoided his attack just a second before Jas' fist could have smashed its body into a bloody mess, and retreated several meters away from the three, staring at them from distance with its white eye with obvious bloodlust.
"It is indeed fast," Khal said calmly.
Although he had his Heaven's Eyes and everything in his sight moved with snail slow speed, the creature's movements were still difficult to follow!
"But that doesn't mean we can't kill!" Khal then followed and raised his Devil Fang before he smiled coldly and said, "The stage has been set... Let's dance!"
Swish!
Khal waved his weapon horizontally, causing the several wind blades, which floated invisibly around the beast until this very moment, emerged and exploded one by one!
BAM!
BOOOM!
The creature noticing the immediate threat moved and wanted to vanish into one of the tunnels on the side, but was halted by one of the wind blades that exploded right before the entrance!
Swish!
However, this attack failed to hit the creature too as the rabbit changed directions and started to run toward the tunnels on the other side. But just like previously, the moment the beast was about to enter the hole, a wind blade exploded just in time changing the creature's path once again!
Khal seeing this smiled slightly.
Although the Moonlight Rabbit was a terrifying beast that was capable of traveling almost with the speed of light and destroying mountains with its claws, its defense was not outstanding at all. Just a single strike from a cultivator from the Eighth Cultivation Stage could end its life, so it was obvious why it didn't dare to take his attacks head-on and decided to avoid them instead!
And exactly because of knowing this, Khal made sure to use this to his advantage, luring the beast to the spot where they will be able to start their plan for real.
"Let's retreat!" said Khal and without hesitation started to jump backward with Jas and Logan doing the same.
