Chapter 24: Remaining 'Statuses'
Walking back to the orphanage to get the small amount of stuff they had and needed, Khal walked into his room and looked around.
“As I can see, there is not so much thing that I can take away with me.”, said Khal quietly as he looked at the almost empty room before him.
Except for the diary, a few books on the shelf, and the picture on the table, Khal couldn’t see anything at all which should be important enough to take with him.
“Well, at least I don’t really have to think about what should I bring with me.”
As he said that, Khal grabbed the ragged bag in the corner of the room, and without any hesitation, he started to put ‘his’ stuff into it one by one.
After putting the few books, clothes, the diary, and the family picture about the original Khal and Liza into the bag, Khal put the bag down before him and looked at the door behind him.
Seeing that it was closed enough to let him be covered, Khal sat down slowly onto the bed and looked at the bracelet on his wrist.
“Now that I have a bit of time, let’s see what the other ‘Statuses’ could show me.”
Back in the hospital, Khal was able to learn that the ‘Personal’ Status notified him about his Talent, Hidden Talent, and Cultivation Grade, which was stated he had none of them.
How great, right?
Unfortunately, after he inspected that ‘Status’, he had no time to check the other three, so this was the perfect time to examine them until Liza was busy with her stuff in her own room.
“Let’s see then… Um… Open ‘Status’?”, asked Khal with a frown, not sure if that would help the bracelet to activate for him.
However, he didn’t need to get nervous at all, because instantly as he said that, the bracelet on his wrist lit up.
Just like back in the hospital, around his wrist, four different titles of ‘Status’ appeared, formed out of pure white light, and started to slowly float around the bracelet next to each other.
“It works!”, said Khal with brightened eyes, and after calming down he said, “Open ‘Essence’ Status.”
Instantly as he said that the lights before him moved and formed words before his eyes one by one.

• Body Essence: 100
• Beast Essence: 0
[Warning! Using all ‘Body’ Essence results in ‘Exhaustion’! High possibility of death!]
When Khal read the pieces of information he was a bit confused.
He knew what the Beast Essence could mean, but as to what the use of the Body Essence was he didn’t have a clue at all.
“Wait… If I can remember right, back when they tried to kill me, this thing told to me it can use a power called ‘Magnetism’, but for it to work, it needed the essence from my body.”
As he thought about this, Khal opened the ‘Obtainer’ Status and looked at the information there.
{‘Obtainer’ Status}
• Magnetism: Able to obtain ‘Power Cores’, which are out of the ‘Obtainer’s’ radius in exchange for ‘Body’ Essence.
• Detector: An automatic function, able to detect ‘Power Cores’ in the close vicinity. (Can be used manually also and able to detect further ‘Power Cores’.)
• Power Core Holder: (Not yet obtained. Need 1000 ‘Body’ Essence to activate!”

“Just as I have thought.”, murmured Khal quietly as he looked at the words before him.
“So Body Essence can strengthen this bracelet’s power, while Beast Essence possibly helps in my Talent’s cultivation. But to be sure, let’s check it.”
With that, Khal opened his last Status, the ‘Power Core’ Status, and started to read the pieces of information there.

Khal reading the information nodded and was about to say he was right, but suddenly his eyes went round because of surprise and looked at the sentences again.
“Wait… What?”
Reading the notification again before him, Khal instantly found something extremely shocking.

“Each obtained Power Core’s… EACH??! What should this even mean?!”
Even though he didn’t quite understand a lot of things yet, Khal clearly understood that his power came from a Power Core.
That small sky blue stone in the middle of his bracelet was the one thing that gave him the power which was called Heaven’s Eyes.
However, as he could see, the small crystal-like stone was stiffly placed inside the bracelet’s hole. Even Khal wasn’t able to take it out, making him believe that it will be inside there for all eternity.
But after seeing the word ‘each’ Khal realized that he was completely wrong.
“Wait a minute… Then… Then there is a way for me to obtain not one, not two, but more Talents?! Is that really possible?”
If what Khal thought about was really true, then he felt like the bracelet was the goddam jackpot!
It seemed, he was the owner of a priceless treasure!
“But wait… I first need to find out if this is true or not. But how should I do it?”, mumbled Khal with a deep frown and started to think.
“First, I need a way to locate another Power Core, but how?”, thought Khal, but it was not so long when suddenly an idea popped up in his head.
“Use ‘Detector’!”
[‘Detector’ activated!]
[Searching for ‘Power Cores’ in close proximity…]
Hearing the familiar robotic sound in his head, Khal looked satisfied, but only until the voice appeared again in his head.
[Found 0 ‘Power Core’…]
When Khal heard this, his satisfied smile vanished and what appeared on his face was a deep frown.
“Now that I think about it, what is a Power Core’s true origin? It’s obviously a stone, but where will I be able to find another one like this?”, thought Khal with confusion as he looked at the sky blue stone in the middle of his bracelet.
However, just as he could have had the chance to think about it, suddenly a gentle knock sounded from the side, making him to flinch slightly.
“Khal? Are you okay?”, asked Liza quietly as she opened the door slowly.
Getting surprised by Liza’s sudden appearance, Khal jumped up instantly from the bed and after picking up his bag from the ground, he walked out hurriedly.
“Yeah. I have just finished packing my stuff, so let’s go.”, said Khal and after glancing back for one last time at his room, he sighed slightly and closed the room’s door.
“Let’s go to Moon Academy!”
