"So? What do you say?" Khal asked Alde with a grin that represented a snake's.
Alde stared at Khal with trembling eyes, but as the weapon pressing against his neck stopped him from saying the words he wanted to say, he gulped down his saliva gently and asked, "W-What secret do you want to know?"
Khal stopped his weapon from slitting Alde's throat open and smiled coldly, "What do you know about the incident that took place several years ago? Where all noble people died in and around Moon City? Why is that no one talks about it nor remembers when I ask people?"
Indeed, during his free time, Khal asked several people about the incident that changed Neo's and Liza's life completely, but no one seemed to remember about such an event which was weird.
If hundreds of noble and influential people, all with powerful backgrounds suddenly died, it was simply impossible to hide it from the people. As a matter of fact, people around the world would try to obtain their past wealth such as their territories, money, treasures, Secret Arts, and a lot more. Yet, when Khal searched in libraries to see what happened, he found nothing but only that the Ourvi Family's power suddenly rose to greater heights under a single night which was ridiculous!
Thus, Khal could only think of one possibility, but neither seemed feasible as that would only mean the Ourvi Family had someone that could literally control the whole world by himself!
'Let's hope my guess is wrong as things could become even more serious as they are now.' thought Khal and stared daggers at Alde to make him talk.
When Alde heard the question his eyes seemed to tremble slightly, but only for a split second, but that was enough for Khal to know Alde indeed knew something thus smile even colder.
"It seems you indeed know something, so talk," Khal smiled at Alde, but the next second his complexion turned deadly serious and added, "But don't even try to think about lying or say you don't know a thing as I will make sure to severe all your limbs right here and now before slitting your throat wide open."
"!?"
Once Alde felt the killing intent in Khal's gaze his body began to tremble unwittingly before quickly nodding his head.
"Perfect, now speak. I don't plan on staying here all day nor you do."
Alde gritted his teeth as he felt the dagger on his neck, but as he heard Khal will spare his life if he told him the truth he was more than willing to talk.
"Okay, I will speak." sighed Alde and began to spill the beans like an obedient little kid before his parent who just scolded him.
Khal listened intently to all the words Alde told him, but after the very few words, his complexion turned stiffer and stiffer while the feeling that was deep in his heart grew bigger and bigger.
It seemed his thoughts were right, which meant extremely huge problems!
After about half an hour later, Alde stopped talking and asked, "And this is all I know, I swear on my life! Now let me go as you have promised!"
Yet, it seemed Khal didn't even hear him as his complexion showed he was in deep thoughts, while his eyes changed several times under not more but a few seconds!
'This is a bigger problem than I have first believed... If what this rat just told me is true, then the whole Southern... No! The entire surface of this planet is in great danger!' Khal thought, his back slowly forming thick and cold sweat drops just from imagining what could possibly happen.
What Alde told him was exactly what he believed, and wished not to be the case, that someone erased and altered all memories of every human on this planet!
Alde told him that the Ourvi Family had an expert Cultivator, similar to Master Adam from Heaven Academy, on the Ninth Cultivation Stage who had a Talent that was able to influence others' brains to an almost absolute extent!
And with him, with such a terrifying expert that could easily rule over an entire continent if not the whole world, Alde's family decided to demolish all the noble families in Moon City and around its wide proximity before acquiring their property, their wealth, their treasures and everything else that seemed important while destroying anything else that they seemed useless!
However, such a Talent, which seemed to rival even God's, had its own flaws and weaknesses too, or at least Khal hoped so, thus asked Alde about it after several minutes of silence.
"Why is it that you only decided to dominate the areas around Moon City instead of the entire Southern Continent or even all the four main Continents? Is there a specific reason?"
"Are you an idi-" Alde started to ask Khal if he was an idiot, but instantly realized his position in this conversation so quickly swallowed back down his words before calming himself down.
"Because she can't alter anyone's memories at will as she needs to prepare beforehand as she needs to meet special requirements. Also, the more individual's mind she does plan to alter or erase, the stronger her Cultivation Base needs to be, alas, with her peak Cultivation Stage in the First Realm this is the most she could achieve."
The moment Khal heard this answer he immediately sighed with relief as it meant world domination will be truly impossible, but still, he had several questions that made the story quite foggy.
For example, what about the people that were in connections with the noble people and were far away when this entire incident happened? They must have noticed when suddenly their old connections were severed, right? Or the people that knew about or at least heard about these noble people but suddenly found out they died?
But when he asked this question, Alde simply just laughed coldly before he answered, "Of course we thought about this and as a result, we killed those that showed signs of trouble toward us while destroying all pieces of information. Naturally, we did it step by step since the start to avoid unnecessary problems, and even now as we talk, people all around the world from my family make sure to keep this a secret."
"What? How is that even possible?" asked Khal, hardly believing what Alde just said.
