Chapter 156: Chameleon Armor
Raven extended her arms toward Khal with a friendly smile, seemingly no hidden ulterior motive toward him.
“The name is Khal from Moon City and he is Theon from Skywave Academy. We were about to go and collect our rewards, would you like to come with us?”
Khal knew that even though he could have defended against Seila’s attack relatively easily, he didn’t want to throw this opportunity into the trash, hence asked Raven if she would like to come with them.
A chance where one could form various connections with experts didn’t come easy, especially not if the individual was on a higher Stage than him. Thus, this was the perfect time to throw his shot and befriend with her who seemed to be on an already terrifying level of Cultivation Base and fighting skills.
“Sure. I already planned to go there, so I don’t seem to find a reason why I shouldn’t join.”
Khal heard her answer and a smile even formed on his face, while he nodded his head mildly, “Great!”

After walking back to their hotel while talking and getting to know each other better, the three arrived before the building’s entrance, a woman in similar attire as Madam Snow stood straight, welcoming them with a blossoming smile.
“Welcome back to Resort of Paradise Esteemed Guests, please feel free to enjoy your stay.”
Opening the door, the three walked inside and watched as three other women appeared from the sides, all holding a shiny silver card in their hands in a gracious manner.
“What is this?” asked Khal, but he had a hunch what they were quite obviously from the Cultivator’s Organization thanks to the emblem on its surface.
“Dear Cultivators, here are your rewards.”

In a blink, three holographic screens appeared before the three, each having their respected rewards from the tournament they were qualified to obtain.

• 15 High-Quality Essence Pills {Collect}
• 1 Secret Art below Cultivator Level {Collect}
• 1 weapon/armor below Flawless Tier {Collect}
Khal read all the prizes’ information to see if they matched with the ones in his head, but soon a frown formed on his face, the exact same reaction that Raven and Theon had on his side.
The woman that handed Khal the card seemed to notice their sudden confusion hence just smiled and began to explain, “The Transfer Station is not on the list as you have automatically collected them. In the following week, you and all the participants that reached the final 50 will receive the device without any mishap.”
“I see, so that’s why.” nodded Khal, and without hesitation touched the first ‘collect’ sign on the card.

Khal immediately felt the urge to cry toward the sky and roar thank you as loudly as he could as he wouldn’t have imagined he would ever see so much money in his possession much less have it!
Thus, didn’t hesitate at all and collected his next reward. A second later, 15 yellowish pills with an alluring presence materialized before him in the air.
“15 High-quality Essence Pills. With this much and a bit of luck, breaking into the Fifth Stage won’t pose a problem.” thought Khal and proceeded on.

However, when he saw what the next reward was he seemed to be a bit hesitant as he couldn’t think of a Secret Art that could improve his strength at all.
However, because he could finally choose his first a lever Expert Level Art he decided to ignore it for the time being as he didn’t want rush thing unnecessarily; instead went and collected his next reward as he already had an idea in mind for that.
Pressing the collect sign, before Khal a screen popped up, and several exotic, luxurious, and powerful-looking items and objects appeared one by one, each described in detail.
However, despite how appealing the weapons seemed to be Khal ignored them and went into the categories and chose armors.

Immediately after more than half of the choices vanished, leaving only armors on the screen, each having various shapes, colors, looks, and material that they were forged and crafted from.
“I must get a proper armor as my Diamond Skin starts to lose its effect and soon it will be useless.”
Khal knew that his Diamond Skin was powerful but against enemies or attacks such as Seila and her World Devouring Strike it did not protect him at all.
And because his Diamond Skin was not like his Devil Fangs that grew in power together with him, what he needed now was not a weapon but armor; a powerful one that has the capability of keeping him alive at least from attacks from the Fifth Cultivation Stage.
“Let’s see what we got here. Armors below the Flawless Tier must be pretty powerful, right?” thought Khal and began to check all the armors in great detail.
[Mist Crystal Armor]
• Tier: Refined Tier
• Description: An armor made out of a rare material known as Mist Crystal that is capable of releasing mist around the body upon powerful contact.
“Even though its usage is usage seems pretty useful, against enemies with greater perception and even Talents such as mine, this armor is useless.” Khal didn’t hesitate even for a second and continued finding armor.
And to make things way easier for him to find the best he needed, Khal set the category once again, changing the screen to only show ones with Tier on the Refined Level.

And just as he thought, the numbers decreased rapidly, leaving only a few that could be counted on two hands and even leaving a few free.
“Just this many? How about the Flawless Tier or even the ones over it? Is there even any?” Khal seemed shocked by this, as he didn’t really believe only this much was available in a huge city such as Haven City.
“There are indeed only this much available but not because we are low on stock but because they are all top quality products among their Tiers.” explained one of the women next to Khal, seemingly as if she somehow felt his suspicion.
“Oh, I see, I didn’t know this. Thank you,” said Khal, causing the woman’s face to blossom into a beautiful smile.
Feeling as his face turned a bit red from the woman’s surprisingly beautiful smile, and with an awkward cough shifted his gaze back at the screen.
However, when he did his gaze grabbed the image of the 5th armor that was presented on the screen and his interest was piqued immediately.
It was an armor that was thin, full-body armor covering every inch of the wearer. It was made out of several kinds of strange green materials akin to scales, resulting in its surface not being smooth but rigid.
Though, what caught Khal’s eyes wasn’t its majestic design but its name and its description which was a bit absurd.
[Chameleon Armor]
• Tier: Refined
• Description: An armor made out of the scales of the Thousand Skin Chameleon that grants the armor to change its material upon touch.
Khal seemed to be speechless upon reading the description as it was something he wouldn’t have expected to see from an item only on the Refined Tier.
The capability of this armor seemed weak at first sight as who would want such an item if they can buy something way better, but Khal thought otherwise thus tapped on the ‘collect’ sign without hesitation.
