Chapter 155: Raven

Right now no Cultivator was present that had either an indifferent or calm face as none of them were able to hold back their emotions upon seeing the rewards.

There were even some that grieved in poor regret and remorse as they couldn’t reach at least the top 50 as the rewards just there seemed to be heaven-defying!

When Master Adam saw the many startling expressions before him a slight curve emerged onto his face and said, “And this is all I can provide for the winners of this competition. I hope you can find this amount satisfactory and I also expect you to learn from your previous mistakes and strive for greater heights.”

After his speech, Master Adam waved his hand and all the screens turned black while the space around the participants twisted again, sending everyone back to the hall filled with pillars.

“Now then, you are free to go and collect your rewards inside your residents. Also, if you have any questions to ask, please feel free to ask any of the available staff in Paradise Hotel as they are there to help you anytime.” said Master Adam and after a brief pause continued, “Also, I hope you will stay in Haven City for one more day as I wish to invite all of you presently here for a final Banquet in Hotel Paradise!”

All the Cultivators roared up with a boisterous cheer as they couldn’t have wished for better. Obviously, the loudest about this were the ones from the top 50 while the rest just simply clapped their hands as they still felt sad they couldn’t grab a spot at least in the top 50.

After explaining the exact time and location for the participants, Khal and Theon, who finished on the 5th and 24th place respectively, decided to walk back to the hotel and collect their rewards, but who would have guessed just as they were about to leave, a girl topped them from doing so.

And it was no one else but Seila, the one they fought their last battle in the Thousand Life Tournament!

“Umm… How can we he-“

“Fight me. You can even come at me at the same time if you wish, I don’t care.” without even waiting for Khal to finish his question, Seila summoned her sword into her grasp, showing her thirst for battle and revenge!

Since her loss could be said was because of them as they were the ones that weakened her to such a pathetic state in the end game, she didn’t want anything more but to vent her anger on either Khal or Theon or maybe on both of them!

Khal and Theon on the other hand seemed surprised by this and looked at each other in speechlessness as they didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Just how brave one needed to be to initiate a fight right before several hundred Cultivators that even had a powerful expert in their numbers?!

In Khal’s opinion, their boldness must certainly be bigger than the sky that is for sure!

“So? Will you fight me or not?” asked Seila, emitting a suffocating presence that was now at its peak as she wasn’t injured or weakened like the previous time.

This caused many to turn their head toward them, including Madam Snow and Master Adam too, and wait for what will happen.

“I will just go ahead and wait for you outside.” Logan’s calm voice sounded from the side and Khal watched as his Master after patting him on the shoulder walked away, seemingly indifferent about the current happenings.

Khal shifted his gaze from Seila at Logan then back at her, but after pondering for a while he just shook his head and said, “There is no need for that, I will come too.”

When Theon saw that Khal followed Logan from behind and passed by Seila with an indifferent gaze, he was still a bit hesitant but still followed suit and walked beside Khal in silence.

He knew clearly that staying and fighting would only attract unwanted dangers and unnecessary problems, thus the best option here was to ignore Seila even though she seemed angered.

However, Khal didn’t decide solely because he wanted to avoid unnecessary problems but because he knew he can’t offend her unless he didn’t want to die.

Seila was exactly like Alde, but in a way more dangerous way. She not only was stronger, but even her cultivation growth and origin seemed to be exceptionally unique, as Heaven City was the second strongest City in the Federation.

Those that didn’t fear to cause a ruckus in front of a powerful expert such as Master Adam definitely must have strong support from behind the curtains.

Trying to fight with her and even beating her would only be an act akin to throwing oil onto the fire; a stupid mistake just like how he did previously.

“You… Courting death!” Seila however thought otherwise and swung her sword toward Khal’s neck without thinking about the consequences.

She didn’t care if Khal and Theon agreed to fight with her or not, today she will definitely collect her debt no matter what!

Khal noticed the cold flash and wanted to act, but it seemed he didn’t have to as his eyes have already caught something quite interesting, hence decided not to move.

Swish!

Clang!

A black dagger that had golden carvings along its blade appeared out of thin air, stopping and even pushing Seila’s sword to the side with an easy trust.

“It’s you!” Seila’s eyes contracted in tremor as she stared at the girl before her, her dagger once again inches away from her throat again.

“Indeed.” nodded the girl that killed Seila back in the Digital World and just like the previous time her smile was still on her pretty face as if it didn’t vanish ever since then.

Her silk smooth blond hair seemed to flutter behind her back, falling onto the middle of her back like a river fall, while her pair of ice-blue eyes stared firmly into Seila’s that held nothing but hatred and grudge.

“You shouldn’t cause ruckus just because you have wished for it or try to take revenge. Just because you are from Heaven City, it does not mean you can do whatever you desire, or at least not in my presence that’s for sure.”

When others heard this, a sense of awe swept through the entirety of the hall as no one would have imagined the girl say something so bold before so many people.

If it were anyone else they would have definitely laughed out loud, but as the one before them was a Sixt Stage Cultivator and the sole winner of the Thousand Life Tournament, no one dared to speak nor giggle.

Before this girl, who was the same age as them if not younger, they were just mere ants before a towering giant, ready to be crushed into pieces at any given moment!

“Haha, you really are something else…” Seila’s cold laugh could be heard while the sword in his hand was ready to move.

However, just before things could have gotten out of hand, Master Adam’s figure appeared between the two, his gaze colder than ice itself.

He stared deeply at the two before him with a frozen expression while an invisible and suffocating force began to leak from his body, causing the two before him to halt and think twice before doing anything reckless.

“Put your weapons down now… Both of you.” the calm yet loud voice of Master Adam caused everyone around to stiffen like sculpture, not daring to take a single breath much less moving!

Seila and the girl shifted their gazes onto Master Adam, and from among the two, the latter one was to do as she was told to.

“This junior apologizes for her recklessness. I just didn’t want to see blood spill needlessly thus I acted without any consideration. I am deeply sorry.”

Although angry for her, Master Adam shifted his gaze at Seila, but instead of an apology, what he received was a cold snort.

“Cowards.” with that single word that was directed towards both the girl, Khal, and Theon, Seila lowered her weapon and without any further ado walked away in wide and steady strides, seemingly angered as her plan of revenge failed miserably.

When Khal saw this an unnoticed smile emerged on his face and turned toward the girl before him who just happened to save his life from ‘unavoidable’ death.

“I appreciate your help but you shouldn’t have done that. She will definitely find a way to hurt you back, I am quite sure about that.”

“That must be indeed true but I don’t really care. The difference between us is as vast as two continents on this planet; and when I talk about difference, I do not only refer to strength.”

Khal listened to this in silence, but deep inside was shocked to hear that!

Those words seemed to be not only come because of arrogance but thanks to her pure confidence in both of her accumulated prowess and background that seemed even more mysterious than ever!

The girl noticed Khal’s abrupt silence and questioning look hence extended her arm and smiled, “My name is Raven, Cultivator from Eternal Academy and currently on the Sixth Stage. My pleasure to meet with you.”
