Chapter 106: Third Cultivation Stage!
Khal used his Diamond Skin to protect his feet and halt his movement speed at the very last moment, leaving deep and long trenches on the ground with his legs.
“Activate… The Defense System… Now!” Khal stared at the two gatekeepers before him, trying to calm his ragged breathing down as fast as he could.
Just now, his body, especially his legs, had been boosted and healed by Asur, letting him run at full speed like crazy! But because of this, in the end, the burden his legs had to bear was greater too; so even though he just ran for close to 10 minutes with refreshed vitality, because of the tremendous boost his legs got they felt extremely numb.

“Mama! Look! What is that!” a little boy on the other side of the gate nagged her mother’s clothing, pointing her tiny fingers toward the skies into the distance.
Khal and the two guards turned their heads toward where the boy pointed, but instantly their complexion paled and took a step back.
“I told you! Activate the Defense System or Moon City will face a never seen calamity!”
The guy’s brave behavior on the side instantly vanished and without hesitation turned around, ” BEASTS! BEASTS ARE COMING! ACTIVATE THE DEFENSE SYSTEM RIGHT AWAY!”
Immediately after his yell, loud sirens began to sound inside Moon City, while the carvings on the huge walls slowly began to slowly lit up with white light.
Khal upon seeing this smiled and turned happy, but the next second his face stiffened, and said, “Wait, my friends are there too. I was sent ahead to warn you, but they are still chased by those Beasts!”
The guy who just shouted snapped his head back at Khal with an angered expression and shouted, “And you brought those Beasts here?! Did you go insane or what?! You put not only yours, but everyone’s lives in this City into great danger!”
“We had no choice. We would have died if not! Also, who knows what would happen after they successfully kill us. Considering how close we were to Moon City, the chance that they would approach the city would still be high! Also, the Defense System is capable of killing those Beasts without harming them right? So do it!”
Khal’s explanation made sense, so the guard could only snort coldly and turn his head toward the walls, “Aim only at the Beasts in the skies! Avoid killing the people before them at all cost!”
As his voice fell, the carvings lit up with greater light and soon the whole area around Moon City got filled with blinding white light.
“Are those the only Beasts that decided to chase after you?” asked the guard, his gaze firmly fixed on the rapidly approaching flock of Beasts in the skies.
“Yes.”
The guard nodded and raised his arm, “Ready!”
Immediately after, the white light slowly condensed into a mass of white orb above the gate, radiating an aura above the Seventh Cultivation Stage!!
“FIRE!”

A powerful gust of wind swept through the surroundings as a white laser beam erupted forth, visibly splitting the air into two while twisting the space around it a bit.
In a blink of an eye, the power reached the flock of Beasts in the distance, and Khal watched as energy mass exploded into the middle of Ruby Beasts like a nuke, detonating and turning their body into fragments in the air like mere specks of dust.
“Damn…” Khal breathed in a mouthful of cold air and stood still. If he wouldn’t have reached Moon City in time or decided to remain with Marx and the others then that would have been his final choice in his life for sure!
“That power was terrifying!” Khal turned his glance from the skies onto the distance only to see Marx’s rapidly approaching figure with Asur and Merlyn still in his hold.
“Argh… We… did it!” sighed Marx in a hoarse voice quietly, as he fell onto the ground after running with all his might from Moon Mountain.
Right now, the muscles inside his legs were bulging and twitching from time to time while thick veins under his skin were pulsating like crazy as his blood flowed through them like a raging river.
“Heal.” Asur crouched down next to Marx and even though his complexion held great exhaustion he began to use his Talent once again.
“Who is so bold to make such a ruckus?”
Suddenly a dignified voice sounded from the skies, surprising not only Khal and the three, but even the gatekeepers; they instantly saluted as a figure descended from the skies slowly.
The man was wearing a deep blood red uniform with the Cultivators Organization’s emblem was visibly discerned on his chest.
“Respected Elder Elex! We are thoroughly sorr-” began to talk to the gatekeeper on the left, but was unable to finish his sentence because the man called Elder Elex snorted and waved his hand, instantly emitting suffocating presence from the Eight Cultivation Stage!
“I don’t care about useless stuff like your apology so just simply tell me what caused all this huge commotion here. I don’t have enough time to waste so be brief.” sneered the man and tilted his gaze at Khal.
“But before that… Do you wish to explain yourselves?”

After explaining how they accepted a Group Mission, killed a Ruby Beast then got attacked by the flock of Ruby Beasts, the four before Elder Elex together with the two guards on the side remained silent.
“So if I understand it right, you found the Ruby Beasts’ Alpha’s nest where its corpse was found. After killing one Ruby Beast there, out of nowhere, hundreds more appeared and began to chase you?”

Glancing at Khal who was able to reach the City and warn the guards beforehand, Elder Elex hummed slightly and waved his sleeve.
Immediately after, 4 small pulls with a yellow color appeared atop his palm, and threw one at each before him, “Here, as an apology and also a way of gratitude from the Cultivator’s Organization, please take these High-Quality Essence Pills.”

The four extended their hands and grabbed the High-Quality Essence Pills with widened eyes.
While the four were shocked beyond belief by the sudden change of events, the man’s figure turned toward the gatekeepers on the side and gave them a slight nod vanished into thin air.

However, Khal didn’t care about how they looked at them or what they were currently thinking, the only thing he cared about right now that he obtained a High-quality Essence Pill which can give him a total of 100 Beast Essence if he was lucky!
Feeling like he was on cloud nine, Khal put the pill into his mouth without hesitation and swallowed it with a huge ‘gulp’ sound.
