Chapter 1201 Rampaging Demon Beast
Not long after the envoys from the different empires left the territory of the Star Shattering Sect, the powerful envoy that had been sent over by the Onyx Empire left the Falling Star City with a happy expression on his face. Having seemingly had an unexpected and happy outcome from talking with Feng Chen.
Unbeknownst to the fact that he was being secretly followed on his way back by a certain winged lion with someone on top of it as he began taking out his communication talisman to inform his superiors about what had happened while flying back in the direction of the Onyx Empire.
Even though there was a chance for the different empires to attack him on his way to the Star Shattering Sect. Forcing him to constantly be on the lookout on his way there, they had no reason to attack him now that he had already met up with the Star Shattering Sect. Not to mention, he was still someone at the Eighth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm. Only someone at the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm or above would be able to threaten him… and even in such a situation, he could always run away if the opponent was too strong.
The only people who had a chance of killing him would be someone in the Soul Ascension Realm and he doubted those empires would send out someone like that to kill him. Especially now that he had already managed to meet with the Star Shattering Sect.
If they wanted to send someone like that to deal with him, they would have done so before he could reach the Star Shattering Sect, there was absolutely no reason for them to wait until he had already met with them-

Cursing silently to himself as he jumped out of the crater that had been formed on the side of the mountain, the envoy from the Onyx Empire didn't think twice before turning around and rushing in the direction of the Onyx Empire with far greater speed compared to before.
Although he had no idea where such a powerful demon beast had popped up from, he had no intention to stay and find out. After all, the short interaction just now had made it more than clear to him that the demon beast was far stronger than him. Staying behind to fight back would only be killing himself for no reason.

Unfortunately, the demon beast didn't seem intent on allowing him to leave as it flapped its large wings before chasing after him. "This- Why is it targeting me!? Did it perhaps just emerge from the Burning Mountain Range and found me to be the most delicious thing it saw after a long nap or something!?" Not able to stop himself from cursing as he said this, the envoy from the Onyx Empire could not help feeling that the heavens were punishing him with that kind of bad luck.
After all, even though there were countless powerful demon beasts living inside the Burning Mountain Range. Especially the parts of the mountain range that ran through the Blue Sea Empire and other large empires at the core of the continent, it was extremely rare for demon beasts above the Nascent Soul Realm to leave the Burning Mountain Range.
Though the reason for this was unknown, it was commonly agreed upon that Domain Lord Realm demon beasts and above only ever wandered out of the Burning Mountain Range in extremely rare circumstance. Rare to the point that it had only ever happened twice inside the borders of the Sky Empire since the day it had been established…

Only able to think about how bad his luck was as he continued escaping back towards the Onyx Empire while communicating to one of his seniors at the Peak of the Domain Lord Realm about his situation and begging for help, the envoy once again felt the powerful attack of the demon beast landing on him before he was sent flying into a nearby forest. Creating a rather spacious opening in said forest in the process.
"DAMNABLE BEAST! JUST WAIT UNTILL MY SENIOR ARRIVES!" Screaming loudly as he dug himself out of the dirt, the envoy wasted no time before he jumped into the air and continued to run away.
Roar-!
Bang!
"Damn you-"
BANG!"
"I-"
Bang!"
In the end, the chase continued for close to an hour as the envoy from the Onyx empire was beaten to the point where even his parents wouldn't recognize him. Unable to recover due to the severe injuries he had received. Focusing all of his remaining strength on escaping in the direction of the Onyx Empire while silently praying that his senior would show up even though hope was slowly dwindling as his situation continued to worsen…
Rumble~!
"DEMON BEAST! HOW DARE YOU DO THIS!"
However, just as he was about to give up, he heard the voice of his senior in the distance, as he felt someone arriving in front of him before he heard the sound of the terrifying demon beast fighting behind him.

In the end, the battle ended after a few minutes as the demon beast was successfully repelled.
"Junior brother, are you okay?"
"Y-yes… Although I don't have much energy left, I should be able to recover after a few years of closed-door meditation."
Hearing the voice of his senior next to him, the envoy used up the last bit of his strength to say this before the exhaustion from the earlier escape caught up with him-

Muttering this to himself as he began to examine the state of his junior brother, the senior in the Peak of the Domain Lord Relam could not help noticing that there were quite a few more interspatial rings on his junior brethren's hands than normal.
Is it perhaps from the people sent by those people?
Thinking this to himself, the senior could not help curiously taking the interspatial rings from his unconscious junior brother before inspecting them-
"Indeed, although they tried to erase their tracks, the interspatial rings definitely belong to the more covert assassin and infiltration groups of those people!"
And soon concluded that the interspatial rings did indeed belong to the people from the different empires targeting the Onyx Empire.
I should give this to master when I get back and have him take care of it, I will also make sure to send some resources for recovery to junior brother in return for the interspatial rings…
Shaking his head as he thought this to himself, the senior from the Onyx Empire put away the interspatial rings in one of his pockets and grabbed his junior brother firmly before rushing back towards the Onyx Empire. Not caring the slightest bit about where the powerful demon beast went after having escaped. After all, this was not the Onyx Empire, and he had no intention of wasting time hunting down a demon beast that he very well understood was by no means weaker than himself.

At the same time that the two people from the Onyx Empire disappeared in the distance, Pei Yang appeared on top of the winged lion demon beast as he looked in the direction that the two had left.

Although it had no idea why it had been asked to not kill the human earlier and why the terrifying human standing above it had to go with it and only acted once to secretly slip some interspatial rings on to the half dead human's hands while he didn't notice, the winged lion demon beast was just happy knowing about the mountain of spirit stones and roasted spiritual beast meat waiting for it back at the Star Shattering Sect...
