Chapter 404 Chapter 12 - Where are we?
"Where do you think they came from?"
"The wall is sealed. My father was on guard. No one slipped in. I'm not sure how they got in."
"But they must have gotten in one way or another. It's not possible for them to just appear."
"Do one of them have the ability to rip through time?"
"Maybe…."
Soft whisper of the discussion on fell in his ears. Kyle being sensitive to noise frowned slightly in his sleep. 'Did the guards choose me again… but they don't talk much…' he vigilantly opened his eyes only to see a zoomed-in face right in front of him.
"!!!" he quickly kicked the person away.
Stunned, he sat up gaping down at the guy who was assigned to Skyy. 'Kaden right... why is he in my bed?' he looked around.
This was not his room.
The paint was moldy and was peeling off and the door was replaced by a grill-like iron gate.
'The escape pod... we escaped and then what happened?'
the last thing he remembered was fighting with this annoying man and inhaling a bit of that pink smoke.
Gulping Kyle tightly hugged his bent knees. 'We got caught again… shit... where's Skyy.' He looked around the room but he was not able to find anyone else.
By the gate, he spotted a few small heads poking in.
"Whoa, he is awake…"
"He looks good…..."
"now, he looks pale," the three children mumbled ever so softly.
Kyle raised a brow. 'Kids? How are kids here?'
In their base, they had a strict rule. The children born to the pw's will be appended and taken to special centers to be raised. Ones who have the ability to grow up to be in powerful positions butt the children who are born as pw's are returned back to the system to become baby-making machines.
It was completely impossible for them to introduce the children base to the pw's as they fear they would get protective and become rampant.
Kyle silently got out of bed and walked to the gate.
The children scooted down and did carefully.
"Children… where is your assigned trainer?"
One brave little boy poked his head in to look at his face intently. "Daddy is guarding the wall."
"Oh…" Kyle had no clue what this wall was.
"Come with us. I'll show you around," the kids actually opened the door.
Kyle stood there frozen looking at the wide-open door. 'Can they do that won't they be punished?!"
"Wait I'm not supposed to go out. what if they hurt you?"
The young boy grabbed his hand very softly and pulled him out.
Suddenly a man grabbed his other arm and pulled him behind his stiff body.
Grunting Kyle pulled at his hand. "Let go, you ass!"
"don't go anywhere… this place is weird…" Kaden grumbled massaging his aching head. He had hit the ground hard and it took him a while to actually come about.
"what's weird about it? I think it's earth base where they train kids." Kyle mumbled pinching his hand. "Let go,"
"Earth base doesn't look this run down."
"you're saying we are stuck somewhere else?" Kyle pulled away from him massaging his wrists. "Brute, can't you be gentle," he walked to the door. "even more reason to leave." he smiled at one of the kids. "Can you lead me out,"
The kids nodded and happily ran out.
Kyle followed behind him.
As soon as they passed through had a few hallways he was able to get a good look inside the cells. So many people were living here and most of the gates were open. They were chatting and laughing happily.
It was such a strange sight.
Kaden silently followed behind him. "This could be a trafficker base…"
"Would people be happy if they are trafficked?" Kyle whispered to hm ever so softly.
The kids led them to a tall young man who looked about thirty or so. he seemed to be the leader giving orders to the others.
As soon as they got close, the middle-aged man's calm eyes focused on them. "Welcome to our base. I'm Murong shao. Who might you be?"
"I'm Pw32…" Kyle whispered.
The middle-aged man smiled. "Haha, I see that's written on your clothes. I asked for your names."
Kyle touched his shirt. 'So, he didn't want my code name? weird...
"I'm Kyle," he whispered softly.
Kaden stepped up putting him behind his back. "I'm Kaden. Can I know which earth association this is part of? I have never heard of base this run down before." He shook the man's hand.
Weirdly, the guy had a steady and strong grip.
'An ability user...' he became much more vigilant.
"Thank you for helping us out of the crash and for being so considerate to our situation. I would really appreciate it if you can arrange transportation to H district."
The middle-aged man looked at him strangely. "The nearby base is at least a few days away. I'm not sure how you guys got here... but it's not safe out there. The skeletal ones are going rampant. Their abilities are going out of control and they are trying to attack anyone who gets close to their territory," the man gestured for them to follow.
"Murong sir… how do you allow kids to stay in the base," Kyle asked curiously. "aren't the pw's troubles by it,"
Murong shao raised a brow. He did not even know how to answer this question. These two people were weird from the get go. They just appeared on this base campus out of nowhere. their clothes were freaking clean and they looked like they had been sheltered all their lives.
Even when they were talking, they talked by weird code names...
'Did any of the countries do any illegal testing..." he looked at the matching white clothes with code names on it. 'Or maybe they came to from a very rich underground base or some kind that kept their inhabitants hidden from everyone...'
It was highly likely that these two did not even have a clue what was going on outside.
"I think you guys will understand if you take a look outside." He led them out.
Kyle grimaced at the hot sun. "so, sun is this hot?" he mumbled under his breath.
"shh... follow close." Kaden kept a close watch over him. "Did you find anyone else in our same clothing,"
"Yes, he is my friend. His name is Skyy,"
"I'm pretty sure you both were the only ones who appeared here," Murong shao climbed over the stairs of the wall.
The two people hesitated a bit and followed after him.
Standing on the top, Kaden and Kyle froze.
Right below the city wall were thousands of skeletal creatures clawing and banging on the iron walls to get in.
"Shit, I didn't realize earth was this bad..." Kyle mumbled under his breath.
"it's not. This is not the earth I'm familiar with… where on earth did we land?"
