Loud sounds of footsteps were heard nearby. Skyy instantly sat up straight. He had unknowingly fallen asleep on the floor. 'Shit, did I miss it?' he ran to the door and placed his head on it. 'One... two... There are two people. Its Kyle! He is here!'
He gazed back at Kaden. "Hey, can you open the door for one second, please? Please. I'll show you who you have to choose as your partner." He hurriedly whispered.
Kaden who was working all night, looked his way tiredly. he slowly walked up to him and opened the door by scanning his eyes.
Skyy poked his head out. the two people had walked far and were near the other room but he was able to see the shadow of red. "that's Kyle."
Kaden looked out curiously. "that's your friend?"
"Hmm."
By a stroke of luck, Kyle also gazed their way.
Sky anxiously waved at his friend.
"Skyy! Run!!" Kyle screamed and took something from his clothes. It was a match. He set fire to the guard in a second.
The place descended into chaos in just a few seconds.
The guard screamed and rolled around on the ground trying to put out the flames.
"Wow your friend is fiery," Kaden laughed softly.
Skyy was in complete panic. "Kyle!" he grabbed him by his hand and ran.
"Wait! Wait for me!" Kaden ran back to the room and came back carrying the huge cage I one hand and a huge white case stuffed under his other armpit.
They ran down the hallways like a crazy person.
"Who is this guy? Kyle glared back at him.
"Ability user!" Skyy glared back. "Why are you running after us? To catch us?" he shouted at Kaden
"Nah I'm running away too,' the man nonchalantly replied with an expressionless face. only his puffed-up hair and his messed-up clothes proved that he was in a stressful situation.
Skyy glanced up in shock. "Why?"
"As I said, I was forced here. if I don't want to procreate then I won't. I shouldn't be forced. This way," he pulled Skyy to the right hallway.
"don't touch him, you bastard!" Kyle screamed pulling him out of his clothes. "Can he even be trusted!"
Skyy shook his head and nodded. "I don't know." He gripped his best friend's hand tightly. "I just want to leave."
They ran to the emergency capsules that were assigned for the guests.
"This can hold three of us." He scanned his eyes and the door opened.
Skyy was about to run in but Kyle held his back. "How can we trust you? what if you were one of those traffickers trying to steal us and sell us?" he said panting loudly.
Kaden just looked down at him dully. "I am too rich,"
"Fuck, that's not a good enough reason,"
"that's more than enough reason for me. oh, come on Kyle he's rich he doesn't need to sell us for money" Skyy dragged Kyle in. "they are following us! What if they hit us with that laser gun?" he worriedly peered at Kaden.
"Actually, I don't think they will. I have something very precious with us," he held up the rat cage.
Kyle gaped at him like he was looking at a crazy person. "We're dead… we're so dead… a rat is not going to save us from getting shot down!!!"
Kaden adjusted his glasses coldly. "It can,"
"No! it can't! oh my god! Skyy, why did you bring this lunatic along!"
"I don't know. He tagged along!" Skyy shrugged.
"I say we ditch him," Kyle growled loudly.
Kaden just scoffed. "I saved your lives and this is the thanks I get. So mean,"
"Saved our lives, my ass. I saved us!" Kyle shouted trying to charge at him.
Skyy held him back. "Guys, calm down. The first priority is to leave this lunar station,"
"I'm already on it," Kaden started to click some buttons and pull some levers.
Kyle glared at his back intently.
"Come on, isn't this a good thing? We don't know how to fly this thing," he tugged at his shirt.
"I still don't like him. Look at him. he is clearly an ability user! They are not to be trusted." He gripped Skyy's hand tightly. "What if he is trying to trap us in here? what if he is one of those spy guys,"
Their conversation was not that silent to begin with. Kaden heard this and chuckled. "ha-ha this guy is hilarious."
"Shut up!" Kyle growled.
Skyy watched this with a frown. "Kaden, after we get to Earth. how are you going to deal with this? won't the authorities arrest you?"
"Who said I'm going to get arrested? I plan on living in the Amazon forest. they can't catch me there. If you want, you can come along. But I don't think he can survive." He gazed pointedly at Kyle.
"What does that mean?"
"Red is such a flashy color. It is hard to camouflage." Kaden shrugged.
"Oh my god, I'm going to kill him Skyy!"
Suddenly the emergency pod whispered and slowly it detached from the lunar station.
Kyle fell silent. But his glaring eyes never left Kaden as if he was looking at a convicted prisoner.
Their pod slowly moved out into space.
Skyy gazed out the only window in the pod. "They don't seem to be activating any weapons yet? Do you think they noticed us leaving?"
"The fire was a great distraction. With the fire alarms, all the doors were disarmed. It would take them a while to find us out," Kaden said as he pressed a few more buttons.
Kyle scoffed. "of course, because it is my idea," he puffed up his chest.
"at least you have brains,"
"at least? what does that mean?! Hey Skyy this guy is fucking annoying,"
Kaden glanced back coldly. "I hate people who cuss."
"Well, I hate people with glasses! Guess that makes our hate mutual! after we get out of this death trap, we go our own way." Kyle sat down on the ground grumbling. "he's talking as if I only have my brains going for me. Aren't I pretty sky?" he nudged his friend.
Skyy nodded. "Very pretty."
"Yeah, I'm pretty." Kyle puffed up with a smile. Suddenly His eyes fell on a small vent that was puffing out pink smoke. "Is this supposed to do that?"
Kaden's eyes widened showing a rare expression of anxiety. "Shit! They activated the self-protection sequ…."
He fell to the ground limp.
A second later, Kyle collapsed too.
Skyy gazed at him in shock. "Kaden! Kyle!!"
Soon his eyes blurred and he fell to the ground with a loud thud.
The last thing he remembered was a soft touch of furry paws on his face.
