They drove slowly close to their base. All along the way a huge hoard of zombies tried to attack their car but the little Zombie girl ended with them with ease. and every time she went into a feeding frenzy those lotuses will grow on her body. Trexa was the happiest out of all.
She happily squeaked and squealed as she collected all the seeds in her cheeks pouch.
Yue picked her up and squeezed her face slightly. The seeds she had stuck in had miraculously disappeared. "You do have a small space in there, don't you? Wonder how much you can fit?"
"Squeak." Trexa rubbed against his palm.
"She says that she can't fit much. But it is enough for her to store her treasures," Chen translated her squeak for him.
"Oh, that's good then." Yue kissed Trexa's cheeks. "Thank you so much for saving me Trexa."
He had lost his life so many times and every single time Trexa was the one who helped save him. Without her, they would have already perished by now.
Suddenly the car came to a jerky stop.
"What happened?" Yue leaned forward to Shao's seat.
"I don't know…." Shao cranked up the key again and again but the car wouldn't start.
Everyone stiffened up. currently, they were stuck in between a huge crowd of zombies. They would eventually get stomped on and eaten alive if the car wouldn't stop.
"Wait I'll get down and work on it," Shao removed his seat belt.
"No!! don't!!" Chen shouted loudly pulling all their attention on him.
Shao gently smiled at him. "it's okay kid your uncle is strong. I can deal with these zombies with ease," he flexed his muscles.
Trembling Chen shook his head. "no.... dad… we can't go out. He is here."
"Who?" frowning Yue hugged him tightly.
"That.... that zombie… the red jacket," he hugged Yue tightly. "Dad he is close."
Yue gazed at Fan in shock. "We have to leave right away."
Just as he said this the zombie crowd parted like the sea of mosses and a red-clothed figure stood far from them. The creature's red eyes fell on them.
From this angel, Yue could get a good look on his face.
The familiar face made him stunned.
It was no one other than Liwei.
'no… I saw him get torn apart piece by piece... it can't be…'
The zombie grinned widely. The weird stitches on his face morphed terrifyingly. "I will come for you Yue… I will kill everyone who is close to you. I will tear their hearts out right in front of their eyes…. I will enjoy eating them.," he licked his lips
With his keen hearing, Yue caught on to his words.
He tightly hugged Chen close. "Fan…. Fan." He whispered in fear.
"Even he can't help you. After all, I will kill him as well." Liwei mockingly laughed.
Right at that moment their car started. They hurriedly drove out of the crowd.
Weirdly, the zombies gave away.
"Run. Run all you want! I will find you Yue. I will kill everyone you love. and at last, I will skin you alive and kill you." Liwei said in a husky tone.
Only Yue could hear all of this. he tightly hugged Chen and leaned against his husband. 'he… he is out for revenge. I can't let this happen...'
Yue and the others ran to the door in a hurry as they were being chased by a huge group of zombies. He knocked on the door in a hurry. "open up!"
The soldier identified them and instantly they opened the door a sliver. they all had to squeeze through and enter the initial gate.
the zombies that followed froze a few meters by the gate peering at them with drool hanging from their faces.
Yue was in a dazed state gazing at the zombies peering at them. they looked ready to tear into him. but even so, they kept their distance. maybe these zombies seem to fear Lilly. but how could a level ten zombie fear a level seven zombie?
Gritting his teeth, Yue hugged Chen tightly in his embrace.
Their group was stopped by the second gate for a full body checkup. their base had a very systematic approached and also a way to test for infected but since this was a very remote base they don't have the technology. All they could do was check them manually through a full body check.
They all did not have to go through this before as Murong Shao was with them.
But now that they were alone, they had to go through with this.
All through this process Fan was frowning and on the verge of growling watching him undress in front of so many people.
He stood behind him and hid his body with his huge stature so that others couldn't see. only the person checking them could get a clear view.
Yue chuckled softly patting his chest. "Stay back, the guy is going to think you are going to attack,' playfully pinched his chest.
Fan gritted his teeth and backed up. "Quick. Wear your clothes," he hurriedly tossed a huge tshirt at his head.
Giggling, Yue tossed it on.
The others also went through this. thankfully for Tian they had a woman who did the full body checkup. even so, his sister had a very grumpy expression on her face as they entered the base. "we really need to get a testing swab for them... this is too tedious," she arranged her collar.
Yue helped Chen dress up. "that's not important,"
the biggest danger, Liwei was coming their way. they didn't have time to create test swaps or to do anything else except prepare for the attack
"hmm…" grunting Tian speed walked into the base.
Yue sighed. "she's upset,"
"Yeah of course she would be. Her body was seen by a woman other than her lover. Anyone would be pissed," grumbling as he helped arranged his shirt.
his warm touch pulled him out of that panicked state.
His husband's jealous stark had never left him even after so many years of knowing him. It had only become intense. He gently held his hand and pulled him close. "My little vinegar jar,"
Fan slightly blushed. "I'm not jealous.'
"Hmm says the jealous guy who was fuming that someone saw me topless."
"Anyone would be angered. That guy did not have any good intentions,"! Fan growled.
Yue sighed softly. The guy who was checking him did not have any explicit intention in his eyes. The poor guy actually was sweating and trembling gazing at Fan who was looming over his shoulders.
The base was still loud and boisterous with people wining and sobbing in different corners. After regaining his hearing ability Yue could not help grit his teeth at the noise level.
It was even worse than facing a group of zombies, at least they would not whine and shout for unreasonable things.
Cupping his ears, he gazed up at Fan. "its too noisy...."
South to G city was a huge natural reserve but since it was quite far from here they didn't consider moving there. It would at least take ten days naturally to go there but considering the situation it might even change to a month of travel.
Their huge group of travels would not be able to survive such a long trip and they did not have that much food to sustain that type of travel.
The logical decision was to split.
The group had already turned rowdy and looting and murdering was done in secret. Even with the soldier's intervention, they were not able to control the batch. It was better to take the ones who were willing to take the risk with them and leave the rest to their own devices.
Food and other stockpiles would be split to them of course but if they tried to loot them Yue did not plan to be soft-handed.
With a determination in his heart, he walked into the prison base.
The clamoring sounds were too much. every direction he turned he saw some sort of conflict. The people were fighting with the soldiers for something or other.
'we have to leave fast,' he hurried to find his uncle and Hary.
They both were quite easy to find as they were in the middle of the room debating with a couple that rations were allocated for people accordingly. The couple was being unreasonable in requesting another packet of biscuits as theirs got stolen.
Yue griped Fan's hand tightly. this group of survivors is already turning cold-hearted. If they stayed behind with them, it was not assured that they would slit their throats late at night and steal all the food.
He gestured for uncle wen and Hary.
They both came up to the with worried frown. "Where were you? I saw Fan rushing out. Is everything okay?" he gazed at Yue whose hair was slightly wet to Tian who was completely soaked in blood. "Tian are you okay?"
"yeah yeah," she nodded and rushes ahead to a certain corner. Juda was playing with coco with a playful grin.
As soon as she spotted Tian she shot up and held her tightly.
"we should have a meeting right away:"
"An important meeting. Uncle, please call for everyone that you trust to the isolation room."
