Chapter 348: The Everyday Goddess

Qian Meng was going over her emails when Li Min came in to inform her that she had a meeting.

"Is this the one for the bridal collection?" she asked. She had been working for it for some time because the emails just didn't give her as much pleasure as they should have.

"Yes, Boss. It's an update meeting but we are going over the final plan for the marketing, packaging, and design team. So, it's better if you go and see it."

Qian Meng nodded. The season of weddings would hit soon and she wanted to see what her team had in store for her.

She had handed over most of the tasks she micromanaged and started focusing on her other businesses as well. She was slowly working towards having equal time for all her financial investments and that was working out really well for her.

Since she started to be the bad boss who allows their employees to shine, her other sources of income skyrocketed. She was paying more attention to the Bai company, her real-estate flipping and renting business and it just seemed that trying to be the best wife was rewarded with good fortune and wealth.

All thanks to Mo Qingchen and his teachings, of course.

"Let's go!" Qian Meng shot up from her seat. "Did you go over the proposals? How are they looking?" she asked Li Min conspiratorially.

Li Min looked at her boss with a smile. "You will love some of them and you will hate the others, that is all I am going to say," she informed her Boss.

Qian Meng gave her a look of confusion but shook it off.

She entered the room and found her employees looking at her with some level of fear. This was a new development.

"Let's begin, shall we? Don't mind me. I am just sitting in. Do your thing," she told her employees calmly.

Li Min coughed as she guided Qian Meng to the end of the room.

The primary batch of the wedding dresses was almost done and the statistics and quality control reports were being prepared. The first update was on that. It all moved on to the marketing team. Ma Qui got up himself and opened a presentation.

Ma Qui was all about visual aids and showing people exactly how he wanted things to be.

"Usually, a line of wedding dresses is introduced through a fashion show with a grand staircase. As the theme of the line is Goddess, we are thinking of going with the ideals of the company and defining what a Goddess really is."

Qian Meng scrunched her brow as she looked at Ma Qui.

"We will take out the religious aspect of being a goddess and empower the everyday woman. A freshly graduated girl who is marrying her high school sweetheart. The woman in her fifties who is marrying the man of her dreams later in life despite her family's pressure to marry earlier. The housewife who is renewing her vows. The possibilities are endless," Ma Qui said.

Qian Meng made a small note of this.

"We bring out the Goddess in the woman and show her as a Goddess in her own life or that of their significant other," he said.

Qian Meng nodded.

Xiong Fen perked up. "You will have to make a list of models you want to correspond to each person, yes?" she asked.

Ma Qui nodded. "We have prepared a list."

The list came up and Qian Meng looked at it and felt mildly disappointed. "I have a question," she said.

The people in the room became eerily silent and looked over at her.

"Ma Qui, are these professional models?" she asked.

"Yes, Boss."

Qian Meng licked her lips. "If you are advertising the line as the everyday woman being a Goddess, aren't these conventionally beautiful and really popular models going against your message?" she asked.

"Yes, but we can't use non-professionals for the photoshoot and short clips that we will put on the boards and advertisements."

She nodded in understanding. "I am not saying that. I am asking you to make a list of models who are not highly popular. Don't just focus on the beautiful. Go ahead and look for people you would see on the street. Broaden the horizon. Body neutrality should be a focus, in my opinion."

She paused.

"But this is just my opinion. You all can discuss and give me your opinions." She quietened down.

Ma Qui made note of this and moved on. "We'll pull up some other options and send you the list." He looked over the room. "The other option we have is a documentation style advertisement. It won't look like an ad, but like a story that you see unfolding in front of you," he said.

As an example, he showed a wedding video taken at a wedding and uploaded it onto a video streaming site.

Qian Meng looked at the wedding ceremony and smiled. She actually liked this idea.

She was curious about the couple they would choose.

"Boss, this is where I need to propose something outlandish to you," Ma Qui said.

Qian Meng perked up. "What do you want? I am up for unconventional ideas," she said without a shred of hesitation.

"What do you think about having a wedding for the promotion?" he asked.

Qian Meng choked. "Excuse me?"

Ma Qui smiled. "Your love life has been in the public eye for the better part of the year. It started with Bai Ye Qing and you showed how serious you were about your love life. And then there is your rather mysterious relationship with your husband. If you go to your pictures together and see the comments, you will notice that people want to see more of the two of you. See you in love and hear your story."

Qian Meng twirled the pen in her hand. "We are not celebrities. I don't think this is a good idea." She didn't want to say that the romantic environment of a wedding wasn't something Mo Qingchen would want.
