Chapter 247: Take Notes, Mr. Mo

Qian Meng stopped to think about what a huge leap this was. "Which therapist did you go to? Do they have magical powers?" she asked.

Mo Yize glared. "Oh, shut up. Be happy that I apologized to you and didn't spend years eating your ear off."

Qian Meng leaned forward. "It's all in the past now. I want to move forward. I can't say we will be friends like we were in university, but if you prove that you aren't an insufferable bitch again… I'll talk to you civilly, understood?"

Mo Yize smiled. "I won't throw my arms around you in joy. And I definitely don't want you going mushy on me, okay? My therapist is all about meaningful relationships with women in my life. Think of me talking to you as homework."

Qian Meng snorted. Two avid bitches who were on the verge of becoming friends again. What a lovely turn of events. Who would have thought?

"Well, to be honest, we won't be friends… we're sort of sisters now." Qian Meng rolled her eyes. "Do you want to do sister stuff with me?" she asked.

Mo Yize looked at her with mock disgust. "Are we going to talk about boys and braid each other's hair from now on?"

"We did that a lot in university. Nothing new there. You can bitch about your family openly now. I know who they are." Qian Meng smirked. "Apparently, our names are in the same family registry."

"Are you sure you don't have an alternate motive? My brother is tight-lipped, I am sure you are dying to know why he hates dad so much." She snickered. "All three of us dislike him, to be honest. Brother just shows it openly." She shrugged.

"And you won't tell me the reason," Qian Meng guessed.

"Don't drag me into your relationship with my brother. I can barely handle saying sorry to an old friend. It's too high intensity for me." It was all fun and jokes. And then Mo Yize looked at her watch. "Dang, I have a meeting with my team. I need to get going."

Qian Meng stood up along with her. "What do you do for a living again?"

"I do a lot of things," Mo Yize shrugged. And then she continued in detail. "I have a small team of day traders working under me. They make me the money. And I also have a team of professionals. I buy failing restaurants and bars and renovate them. When the business is booming, I sell them off to the highest bidder."

Qian Meng raised her brow. "You can never commit to anything, can you? Is this another way of you fixing up and making money?"

Mo Yize shrugged. "There is no challenge in just having one place to look over. I like the excitement of taking on new challenges and obliterating them."

"Sounds like you," Qian Meng said finally. "Well, you should get going. Thank you for coming over. I really appreciate it."

"You're welcome," Mo Yize answered. "Call me if you want to hang out or something. Lord knows I am bored all the time."

"I might hold you to that," Qian Meng announced.

Qian Meng followed Yize out of the door and watched as she slid into her car.

"Well, that was a short visit," Mo Qingchen said from behind her.

Qian Meng turned around to see him a few steps away from the door.

"Yeah, she has meetings with her team. She just came by to give me presents," Qian Meng said with a small smile.

"I saw that. It was thoughtful." He looked contemplative.

"Take notes, Mr. Mo," she joked.

When she walked back into the house, she felt strange. It was officially their house. Mo Qingchen and hers. And she was used to it. It felt like her own.

Qian Meng saw Mo Qingchen go back towards their bedroom and made her way to the kitchen. She wondered if there was anything to eat at home. Left with only the option of cupcakes, she pulled out a plate and set a few on it before taking it back to the bedroom.

She didn't see Mo Qingchen in there, but she could hear him shuffling in the bathroom. Her bags were lined up neatly against the wall next to the door that led to the bathroom.

But those could wait. She didn't feel the need to deal with them right away.

She plopped down on the bed and noticed that Mo Qingchen had turned on the news on the television. She picked up the remote after watching the news for a minute before she started to skim through the channels and found something that was interesting.

She found a comedy and settled on it.

As she got into the movie, she peeled the paper wrapping of the cupcake and bit into the exposed cake. She let out a satisfied moan and continued to bite into it. She was so engrossed in the movie and her food that she didn't see Mo Qingchen come out of the bathroom.

"Seriously?"

"What?" she mumbled through her mouthful of yummy goodness.

"You're eating cupcakes on the bed?"

She forcefully swallowed and flashed him an angelic smile. "I fed you sandwiches on this bed, too. Don't complain, Mr. Mo."

"But… you're not using your plate properly."

She hummed. "I plan on sleeping with ants today. Don't worry. You can share the bed. It's therapeutic apparently," she joked.

"You're joking right?" he asked.

Qian Meng snorted. "You can't tell?"

"Your mind is a wonderful place. I never know when you have that serious look on your face." He sighed in relief. He began furiously wiping away at the blanket, trying to get rid of the crumbs.

She watched him move around and chuckled.

"Move," he instructed as he nudged her thigh with his sweeping hand.

She sighed and obliged, getting up and taking her food with her so Mo Qingchen could continue to fuss over the blanket.

"I've saved some for you," she called. Her hunger had subsided so she decided to unpack some of her clothes. She walked into the bathroom and couldn't help but smile.
