Chapter 229: Think About Her Every Time He Works

They'd never kissed that way before. His kisses were usually rough, almost savage. This time, his lips were gentle and attentive. It took her off guard.

'What is wrong with my stomach?'

The truth was, the way Mo Qingchen was kissing her gave her butterflies. She was not prepared for it.

She would never know if Mo Qingchen felt the same way. She wasn't even willing to admit it to herself, much less to him. She suspected that it might have the same way for him. At least, that is what she would have liked to think.

His walls were up so high that she dared not ask him if he felt soft and caring towards her.

Qian Meng lifted her arms until her palms were flat against his chest and then she pushed against him. Mo Qingchen pulled his lips away from her. Still, they were dangerously close. She didn't wait for him to step back away from her.

Instead, she slid off his desk, forcing him to move back to give her room. Immediately she moved towards the window to put some space between them. The butterflies in her stomach were not from a feeling of sexual attraction. She could tell the difference.

She didn't want to find out what it meant.

"I briefly considered apologizing but I won't apologize for something you clearly enjoyed." Without thinking, she whipped around to face him. She huffed when she saw his smirk. She wanted to slap it right off his face.

God, it made her want to kiss him again.

"What makes you sure that I enjoyed it?" she challenged.

"You kissed me back… very passionately." The corners of his eyes crinkled with delight.

"You're so full of yourself!" she exclaimed.

"I am not full of myself. I am sure of myself. There is a difference."

Qian Meng sighed and ran her hand through her hair, a habit she had picked up from Mo Qingchen. She walked back to the chairs and sat down, facing the front of Mo Qingchen's desk.

"You don't mind making out with me in your office? The place you work? You'll now think about me every time you sit down to work," she taunted. Mo Qingchen's eyes flashed towards her.

"Who said I didn't want that to happen? It will make me work efficiently and not kill myself over it. I'll remember that I have to take you home and catch some sleep after dinner. Sounds good to me."

Qian Meng blinked. "Do you realize you just said something romantic?" she questioned.

Mo Qingchen glared. "I'm just stating a fact."

Qian Meng shook her head. Maybe she was thinking too deeply into the matter.

"Sure," she mused. "I think I like you better when you're kissing me." She shrugged. Mo Qingchen leaned down, his head looking down at her.

She reached up to cup the back of his neck.

'Don't think about it, Qian Meng.'

She pulled his head down towards her and this time, she initiated the kiss. This kiss was different. It was much like how they usually interacted: trying to one-up one another.

Their lips were insistent and their tongues fought for dominance, each wanting to lead in the dance they were engaged in. Although their lips moved slowly, their actions still felt passionate. Mo Qingchen kept on humming and Qian Meng finally knew that he had taken a page from her techniques.

This scoundrel!

They stayed like that for a long time. By the time Mo Qingchen pulled away, Qian Meng's lips were literally chapped. And he didn't even pull away completely. He kissed down her jaw, her neck, and over to her ear.

"Thank you," he whispered against her skin.

"For what?" Qian Meng whispered back.

"For humoring me and my employees. I'm so glad I am marrying you today."

She sighed and started to nervously chew on the inside of her cheek. "You think so?" she asked.

Mo Qingchen cradled her cheeks and nodded. "Someone's outside talking to Gu Rong. They should be here to take you. Your lipstick is a little faded," he commented.

She glared. "It's transfer-proof!" she countered. Still, she looked at the camera and patted it in. "It looks natural. No issues." She looked at his lips and wiped at the slight smudges on his skin before she was satisfied.

"All done." She grinned.

Finally, there were three knocks on the door.

"Come in," Mo Qingchen called as he put distance between them. Gu Rong peered in. She looked between Qian Meng and Mo Qingchen before shrugging it away.

"Mr. Mo, Cai De is here to bring her down to the club," Gu Rong announced.

Mo Qingchen looked at Qian Meng for a second before nodding.

She bit her lip before heading for the door without looking back. They could go home and finish what they started.

Gu Rong took in her expression and didn't seem surprised. Qian Meng wondered what the others saw on her face.

"I see things went well," Gu Rong teased.

"Just delightful," Qian Meng responded. "What do you think happened?" Her arms were folded tightly.

"He didn't shout at you, that's good. He might have said something offensive. Did he call you his servant?" A masculine voice responded. Qian Meng quickly spun around to see the source of the voice.

"Hi, I am Cai De, VP of Product Management." He waved and smiled politely.

"Nice to meet you. He calls people his servants quite easily, does he?" she asked. "Never mind." She shook her head and smiled weakly. She was still reeling from the feeling of Mo Qingchen's lips on hers.

"Oh, don't feel awkward talking to us! Trust me. We've all been there." He let out an empathetic sigh. "You look very human coming out of the room."

Human, my foot! Qian Meng wanted to protest.

Mo Qingchen's employees seemed to dislike him quite a bit.

Qian Meng actually had to crane her neck to look at the man. Cai De towered over her. She thought Mo Qingchen was tall, but this guy was massive.
