Chapter 142: A Stupid Vow

[Warning: Some sexual content up ahead]

"Because I'm not a nice guy, Qian Meng." He sounded so sincere that it caught her off guard. Her mouth opened, but nothing came out. She just stood there speechless as he strolled across the room.

The man had given everything to his name to her and he dared to argue that he was no good? Sometimes, Qian Meng wondered if there were two parts of him raging inside: one that wanted to do good and the other who wanted to push people away completely.

"I am not a nice girl, either," she swore.

"Excellent. We're a match made in heaven, then." He gave her a slow and lazy smile.

The traumatized waitress cleared her throat beside Qian Meng. "Dessert is served. Please ring that bell if you need me." She pointed to a shiny, silver bell on the table before scurrying off.

So much for showing Mo Qingchen her life. He managed to get exactly the type of treatment he was accustomed to. The table held a cascading fountain of chocolate surrounded by various treats for dipping, a bottle of chilled champagne sat off to the side.

Maybe Mo Qingchen was right. Maybe she should be scared of a man who gets everything he desires.

But she wasn't.

She accepted her masochistic tendencies and dove first in a marriage that might devastate her. However, in her defense, she didn't believe in fairytales or have delusions. Mo Qingchen was honest. He didn't pretend to be Prince Charming and Qian Meng respected that about him.

He sat on the futon watching her, his penetrating stare gripping her all over. It drew her to him. Walking towards him, she repeatedly reminded herself not to kiss him.

He had to make the first move. No way was she going to kiss him first.

The first move was crucial. She certainly wasn't going to make it, no matter how tempting he was laid back on those fluffy cushions with his ruffled hair and dark, brooding eyes. He looked up at her as she stood before him.

"Are you hungry?" She loved teasing the man.

"Famished." His eyes devoured her like a meal.

"Do you want me to feed you?" she asked sweetly.

He pulled her onto his lap in one swift move, the sheer force taking her breath away.

"Until I beg you to stop," he whispered in her ear menacingly, causing her to break out in goosebumps all over.

Straddling his lap in her skirt, she pulled back slightly. She had a feeling this was payback for the little show in the office lobby that morning. His warm breath on her skin was going straight to her hips. Lord knew once she lost control, all bets were off.

She swore the man could speak with his eyes.

"Kiss me," they demanded.

Her lips moved closer to his, wanting nothing more than to violate his mouth until she passed out from the lack of oxygen. Just as their lips nearly touched, she remembered her vow.

He had to kiss her first.

What a stupid vow.

Their heavy breathing filled her ears. His fingers ran up her legs slowly until they reached her hips. He gripped them firmly, holding her in place.

As if she was going anywhere. It was unlikely.

She looked over her shoulder at the fondue.

The wicked thoughts flashed in her mind. Reaching out, she picked up a long steel fork and stabbed a fresh strawberry with it. She contorted her body to dip it into the stream of chocolate, carefully guiding it to his lips. He licked every bit off before sucking the plump strawberry into his mouth.

Warm, chocolaty goodness coated his lips.

"More," he demanded gruffly.

She swallowed hard and turned back to the fondue. This time, she stabbed a marshmallow, covering it completely before bringing it to his mouth, eager to watch him lick it clean.

While his tongue moved, his dingers kneaded her hips, causing them to stir. Shamelessly, she started grinding against him as she watched him do obscene things to a very lucky marshmallow.

Something flashed in his eyes right before his hand moved to the back of her head, guiding her lips towards his. The slow descent nearly drove her insane.

She dropped the fork beside her, never removed her eyes from his.

The moment their lips finally met, she nibbled, licked, and sucked every last bit of the sweet, sticky marshmallow she found on them. The man was delicious, in every sense of the word.

Control was no longer relevant.

She grabbed him by the shoulders, pulling him closer to her. His firm hand remained on the back of her head, holding her in place. Her mouth welcomed his chocolate-coated tongue, as though it was exactly where it belonged.

Not only was he delicious, but he was also talented. Extremely talented. Kissing had never held much interest to her, yet she definitely heard herself moaning and she didn't mean in a small whimper.

Just when she thought she might combust, her hips squirmed in heat.

He grabbed onto them with a vice-like grip, easing back against the cushion, bringing her down with him. Her skirt rode up a little further. The cool air against the newly exposed skin felt good. The noises coming from her mouth would have humiliated her if she had a sound mind.

Biting down on his bottom lip caused him to release a groan so primal that she paused mid-grind. She had to hear it again, so she bit down on his top lip even harder. He growled deep and husky, the sound truly dragon-like, though not nearly a roar. She wanted him to roar.

His eyes ignited as the bulge in his pants become rock solid. Her lips moved along his jaw, biting her way down to his neck. She grazed her teeth along the column of his neck like a little vampire. His deep moans of pleased added fuel to her fire.

Oh, god. What this scoundrel did to her!
