Chapter 127: Apologize to Bai Ye Qing

The other team became silent.

"Shall we begin?" Li Jun announced more than asked.

"We would like to make our demands beforehand," Jiang Hanyu said immediately.

Li Jun arched a brow and Qian Meng leaned back into her chair to watch the scene.

"Speak," Li Jun commanded.

"We don't want to press charges against Miss Yun. Our intention was to discuss the particulars in a civilized fashion like this," Bai Ye Qing spoke when the lawyer remained silent.

Qian Meng scoffed. "You have a weird way of ensuring that. You plastered information about what happened on the news and internet and filed a lawsuit saying I tried to murder you."

"That was not my doing," Bai Ye Qing defended immediately. "My mother asked Jiang Hanyu to help me with this, so I went along. I only wanted to speak to you when you were calm."

Qian Meng broke into laughter. "Okay, I am calm. Tell me, what do you want?" she smirked.

Li Jun gave her a warning look.

"I don't want our personal matters splashed on the internet. I don't mind…"

"We'll withdraw the charges of attempted murder if you pay for the repair of the car. As per estimates, it will cost two million dollars. We will also have you publicly apologize for spreading false rumors and threatening his life." Jiang Hanyu watched his opposition team to gauge how his proposal had been received.

Li Jun shifted in his seat. "So, let me get this straight, you want us to compensate for the car that was broken and apologize to your client?" he asked shortly.

Jiang Hanyu nodded. "You have threatened to file for psychological abuse and stalking. The news has been leaked to the media and there is considerable monetary and reputation damage to the Bai family's company because of this matter." He paused. "We will not consider the monetary loss made, but focus on the damage to our reputation. If your client wants us to withdraw all charges and exonerate her from any legal action, she has to publicly apologize to Mr. Bai and say that he was not the one who manipulated the media."

He took out a few papers clipped together and handed one copy each to Li Jun and Yun Qian Meng.

Both looked over their copies respectively and pulled out their pencils to circle and comment on each. They passed it to each other and read the other's concerns.

They whispered among themselves before Li Jun cleared his throat.

"We have some arguments." His voice was loud. Jiang Hanyu and Bai Ye Qing waited patiently to find out what changes they wanted.

"I am also Miss Mo's representative in this matter and I have full authority to make decisions on her behalf." He produced the papers for the statement and showed them to Jiang Hanyu.

"As per the case filed against your client, he has manipulated Miss Mo into gifting him properties upwards of two million dollars. While this was a gift at the time, the emotional manipulation had hampered her ability to think properly and aided her judgment. Miss Mo doesn't wish to ask for compensation for the treatment she received. Instead, she wants the properties transferred to be used to pay the repair costs."

They knew for a fact that after buying the expensive customized car, Bai Ye Qing had to forego full insurance. The car was trashed and he would hardly get any money from the insurance company because of the circumstances that led to it.

So, this was how they would get away with it. The property he received would need to be sold to save his face and his car. The car he showed off to all the females would be gone, too. Double win.

Qian Meng saw Bai Ye Qing clench his fist. Though he tried to hide his frustration, Qian Meng and everyone else in the room could see it clearly.

Jiang Hanyu whispered to Bai Ye Qing. "I don't accept this."

Looked like the man loved his car more than the women he claimed to cherish with all his life.

Jiang Hanyu slumped back.

"I should remind you that emotional abuse cases and manipulating someone into transferring their property to you can lead to fines and monetary compensation equal to the amount gained plus interest."

Li Jun waited stoically for the response.

"Bai Ye Qing, as much as I want you to suffer, I'll warn you. Li Jun can make it hurt." She smiled sweetly.

"What else?" he gritted through his teeth.

"The properties will remain in your name as Miss Mo doesn't want them back. In return, we will not compensate you for the loss of property on your side," Li Jun said again. "Secondly, Miss Yun will apologize to Mr. Bai in the most public way she can and post all legally related papers alongside the apology."

Jiang Hanyu's eyes widened. "Really?"

The room went silent. "Negotiate," Bai Ye Qing said.

"We will agree to the apology if Miss Yun apologizes on a television show and posts an extended apology on the official website of her company."

Li Jun put the pencil down and turned to Yun Qian Meng.

She thought about it deeply. Apologizing on live television would attract so many eyes that it could ruin her. She needed to find a way out.

"I'll make minor changes to that suggestion," she said after a while. "What if… the apology can come in any form as long as it can be searched on the internet and has a link on the official website of Venus." It was more a suggestion to Li Jun.

Li Jun wrote the notation on the copy he had received.

"Okay, let's go with that. Miss Yun will make a public apology in any form and link it to the official website of Venus. Do you agree?" Li Jun asked.

They spoke and finally agreed.

"I have one more broad clause I want to add," Li Jun admitted after a pause.

"Go ahead," Jiang Hanyu said cautiously.

"Neither Bai Ye Qing nor Jiang Xin will be able to sue Venus, Miss Yun, and Miss Mo ever again. There will be no further demands from these three parties ever again. Lastly, if any unrelated issues come from this agreement, Mr. Bai and Mrs. Jiang will be liable for any consequences and Miss Yun can demand any losses all three opposing parties suffers from them."
