Chapter 126: Show Off Her Power

"Did you vandalize more property?" Li Jun asked, his voice rising.

"No. It's something more personal. You'll know when I send it over."

There was silence on the other end. "Understood," Li Jun said finally. "I have another call coming in. I'll text you the timings shortly."

Yun Qian Meng heard him hang up and groaned. She needed a long shower and then plan out exactly what was happening tomorrow.

If the settlement meeting was tomorrow, would she be left out of getting the full revenge she wanted? To completely destroy Bai Ye Qing's reputation… that was what she wanted.

Soon, a text came in. The meeting was set at eleven in the morning. She groaned. She had to settle this matter before meeting Bai Ye Qing's father. Excellent. Now that would be an uncomfortable situation.

[Mr. Bai, do you still want to meet me? You know that your son has made some heavy charges against me and I don't plan on backing down.] she texted in explanation.

She was working on something important for the next day when her phone pinged.

It was Mr. Bai, responding. [Qian Meng, don't worry about that. Both of us can talk about business and have a relationship separate from our families.]

That comforted Yun Qian Meng. She really liked Mr. Bai and his easy personality. He was a hardworking man with an understanding of the world from a grassroots level.

[Understood. As decided, let's meet at one-thirty in the afternoon. I will order lunch as per your liking.]

With that, she went back to work.

She went to the office especially early the next morning to finish up all her work.

"Li Min, what are the stock prices looking like?" Qian Meng asked after the meetings with executives were over.

"Prices are unstable with large selloffs and people buying in bulk to take the opportunity." She slid the charge over to Yun Qian Meng, who looked at it carefully.

"More people buying shares to help Jiang Xin?" I asked.

"Yes. As per your instructions, I have made note of the transactions and load of shares bought. This is enough to prove market manipulation and buying of stocks illegally. If we add in filing papers in the name of others who can't afford to buy our shares, we have a solid case against her," she said quickly.

Yun Qian Meng nodded. "Hold onto the information for now. We might need it later."

Li Min frowned. "Why don't we use it right now, Boss?" she asked.

"You should know better. Let the snake hide under the plant. Unless we have a reason to rattle her or threaten her, let's not show our hands to her. She shouldn't think of other plans to get back to us." She sighed.

"Noted, Boss," Li Min said quickly. "It's almost time for Mr. Bai Junior to come with his lawyer. Do you want to move to one of the smaller meeting rooms?"

"Just book one for me until 1:30 pm. Order lunch for Mr. Bai and me, as well. We'll have a lunch meeting."

Li Min noted it down. "I'll take my leave then," she said quickly and scurried away.

Yun Qian Meng placed her pen down and took out her cell phone.

[Feeling better?] she texted Mo Qingchen.

He didn't respond for a few minutes. Her office line rang and she picked it up immediately.

"Boss, Mr. Bai has arrived. I have asked someone at the reception to bring him to the room."

"Has Li Jun arrived yet?" she asked absentmindedly as she stared at her phone screen.

"Yes, he arrived fifteen minutes ago. He sent you an email with the demands we can make. He asked you to check."

"Understood," Qian Meng said quickly. She opened her email and laughed. "I'll arrive at the meeting room twenty minutes later," she announced.

"Yes," Li Min acknowledged immediately.

This was a pressure tactic Li Jun wanted to use. In bold, right after the subject of the email, he had asked her to arrive late.

She went through the proposal he had sent and responded with what she wanted out of the meeting and settlement.

She pressed send and then leaned back into the chair.

Mo Qingchen had still not replied. She pulled her drawer open and took out the binoculars. She walked around her table and made her way to the spot from where she could peer into Mo Qingchen's office.

She looked in and saw the lights on. She knew immediately that he was in office at some point in time that day. He did say he would be busy. She sighed.

She flipped through a proposal before her alarm went off.

Perfect time to leave her office and slowly walk to the meeting room. She walked out of the office and Li Min followed wordlessly.

Yun Qian Meng took her sweet time to reach the room. Li Min rushed forward and pushed the door open to let her in. It was another maneuver she used when in contract-related dealings. She didn't like people serving her and opening doors for her, so she kept it for those occasions when she needed to show off how powerful she was.

Because men seemed to only understand this language.

"I got caught up in an important meeting," she said slowly, sounding careless. She was not the one who had to lose anything from this encounter. She could easily overturn public opinion and tell everyone the full story, painting a narrative that would exonerate her, but she didn't want that. She wanted to destroy him by using his own hand.

Why would she have his dirty blood on her hands?

She pulled out the chair and sat beside Li Jun.

"You're Jiang Hanyu, are you not?" Qian Meng spoke.

The other nodded. "Miss Yun, I have heard a great deal about it. It is an honor to meet you."

Qian Meng pressed back her amusement and responded, "It's a shame we are meeting under such circumstances."
