Chapter 122: The Sexual Tension is Thick

Everything about Mo Qingchen was so distinct that she found herself memorizing the rhythm and sound of his steps. He walked over to his bed and settled under the covers without a word.

Qian Meng handed him the plate of food and poured him a glass of water to go with it.

"This is totally unnecessary," he looked down at the food on his plate with trepidation.

"Says the man who collapsed on the floor from exhaustion." Yun Qian Meng grabbed a glass of water for herself and sat in the chair beside him.

"I did not collapse," he huffed.

"Of course, you didn't. You were just acting like Sleeping Beauty on the floor." She closed her eyes in frustration. "You like sleeping on the floor?"

"I don't sleep often," he noted dryly.

"You can't sleep or you choose not to sleep?" Qian Meng found herself asking. "The doctor could prescribe something to help, you know?" She side-eyed him and saw his face harden.

"I am aware of that. I don't need drugs." He lowered his spoon.

"Keep eating," she commanded. "You can't function without sleep for long, Mo Qingchen." Qian Meng tried to get to him but it seemed he was too stubborn to see her point.

"I'm fine," his tone was firm but his eyes were heavy from exhaustion. "I have more meetings tomorrow and I have to settle business in the morning."

"Okay," she said after swallowing her water. "Did you resolve the issue with the contract?"

"Not yet. It will be taken care of." He had a sinister look in his eyes that would paralyze others, but to Qian Meng, it was sort of sexy. Not when he was frightening people. It was the determination to win every time that made him such a good opponent to be pitted against.

It motivated her to do better.

"I have no doubt that it will be. Let me know if you need any help from me." She chuckled. "Are all your negotiations so hostile? I always thought you were calm when facing the enemy."

He began to explain smoothly. "The technology industry is highly competitive. In negotiations, you either dominate or you be dominated."

Qian Meng nodded. "That's my view of business, too. But I have come to learn that people can mutually benefit from deals too." She gave him a pointed look.

"Very few people are worth to be compromised with," he said with a glint of amusement in his eyes.

And of course, Yun Qian Meng was one of them.

"Working together with them instead of against them is always better. You have an ally with you, then."

"Just remember never to trust them too much," Mo Qingchen warned. "Like you did when you just stood in a dark alley waiting to be attacked!" He seemed to have suddenly remembered.

Qian Meng sighed. "I said I will learn how to defend myself!"

"I'll keep barraging you until you start classes," he said softly.

"Well. You like making deals with me, so why don't we make one right now, Mr. Mo?" She tilted her head to the side and waited for his answer.

"What are the conditions?"

She leaned in close. "I promise to learn how to defend myself properly if you promise to eat and rest regularly."

He thought about it. "You already promised to do it in the prenup," he retorted.

Qian Meng shook her head. "I never said when I would start. I'll start training when you start eating and resting."

"Will you be feeding me in bed?" A devious glint lit up his face.

"I don't recall saying I would be feeding you at all!" She squinted, but her lips stretched into a ridiculous smile that she couldn't wipe off her face.

"Pity," he said slowly, dragging the word. "That was the selling point of the deal."

Qian Meng glanced down at his plate of food and noticed that he had finished every bit as well as his glass of water. The distaste for microwaved food had suddenly vanished or he had been famished.

In reality, it was food Qian Meng had brought to him with her own two hands; even if he hated it, he would have had every last morsel. But Yun Qian Meng would never find this truth out. A pity.

"I am sure any one of your 'servants' would gladly feed you in bed," she quipped.

"Yes, they would," he agreed immediately. "But I would prefer you."

'Is he flirting with me?' Qian Meng couldn't be sure. He spoke as though it were a simple fact but his stare at quite intense.

"You prefer me?" she repeated slowly. How did he say such things so smoothly?

"Definitely," he nodded in the same excruciating slowness.

"Why?" she asked, dazed.

"Because of your delicious," he moved in closer and then paused. "microwaving of food," he ended.

"Oh? Was the heat perfect?" she whispered.

"It was hit." His gaze flickered to her lips. "With a kick. Just like I like it."

'He is definitely flirting.' And she wanted to flirt back.

"Do you like it only in bed?" Qian Meng pretended to be innocent.

Mo Qingchen's eyes darkened. "I like it anywhere you will give it to me."

She choked on her breath. His grin was sinful.

Mo Qingchen… he was evil!

"And you don't want anyone else to… feed you?"

Mo Qingchen shook his head. "Just you."

"And would you say you have a large appetite?" she wondered out loud.

"Extremely," the word slipped from his lips like honey.

There was no doubt that they were headed to dangerous territory. Qian Meng couldn't think of anything else. She was simply responding to him.

The sexual tension was so thick that she could barely bear it.

She wanted to kill him. Hell, she wanted to do more than kiss him but she would definitely start with his lips. But he was sick and needed rest.

She couldn't consider these things.

That caught her off guard.
