Chapter 105: Giving Women a Bad Name

How much more could this woman handle before she broke down?

Li Min didn't want to find out. She walked out and closed the door softly behind her so as to not disrupt Yun Qian Meng.

She called her brother. "The Bais filed an FIR and there are articles about the situation already," she told him.

"Yeah, I understand." Li Jun paused. "Don't worry about Miss Yun. She is stronger than you think. And she never does things for short-term gain. Trust in her to know exactly how to reach the end unscathed."

Li Min sighed. "I don't know how she is going to come out unscathed from this," she groaned.

"You've worked for her so long, don't you know how?" Li Jun asked quietly.

Li Min's eyes brightened. "I guess I do."

She felt a small smile play on her lips.

Inside the room, Qian Meng was reading the articles meticulously and making notes.

The titles varied. Some outlets held back in their criticism, while the others went all out. None of them mentioned Mo Yize, so that was a boon.

[Venus CEO Demands Attention With Her Public Breakdown]

[The Fall of Yun Qian Meng]

[Family Dispute turned Lethal: The Powerful Woman Who Tried to Kill her Fiance]

Colorful and all making her out to be the crazy woman who tried to kill someone without reason.

The main points of the article covered how Bai Ye Qing had proposed and how she was emotional and used her power and money to get away with murder.

The comments underneath were even worse.

'Wow. She doesn't look like a psychotic bitch. Turns out, you can't judge by looks!'

'I wonder why she snapped. Did the money get to her head?'

'The car costs upwards of four million dollars. And she destroyed it. These rich brats don't know how precious money is. Down with the rich!'

'Women like these give us a bad name.'

'This is why women need to be put in their place. Who let her out of the kitchen?'

'How does she run a business? Too emotional and irrational. Did she win a lottery or something?'

'Send her to a psychiatric ward. She deserves what is coming to her.'

The comments grew more violent and sexist. She looked at them critically.

The quote mentioned how disrespectful and high and mighty she acted in society. She concluded that it was one of the two: Chen Yue or Jiang Xin.

Or they had worked together to spread the news. One of them contacted the media while the other anonymously slandered her.

Would she press charges of slander? No. That would put fuel on the fire and the news outlets would write more articles. She needed to think carefully.

'Yun Qian Meng, what are you going to do next? Will you go along with the original plan or not?'

She decided that she would. Even if she suffered some grievances in the short-run, the ending would be magnificent. She would see to it.

Her notes were complete and she had written down more headlines that they could use. She would ensure more articles come out. She needed the news channels to come into the picture, too.

"Could you come in?" she asked through the intercom.

"Yes," Li Min answered without emotion. She followed through within the minute and entered.

"Take this paper and look at the points I mentioned. I even wrote down some catchy titles to get more clicks. Call up the celebrity gossip journalists and give them the scoop." She sighed.

"I'll make sure no one knows you made this happen," Li Min ensured. She took the paper Qian Meng was extending towards her and read through it. "Miss Yun!" she gasped.

"Do it," she said firmly.

"Miss Yun, this will make our stock price plummet," she whispered harshly.

"I know," she confirmed. "You need to plummet in front of everyone to rise magnificently." Qian Meng smiled.

Li Min bowed and went out. She looked down at the paper again and felt herself shudder. This method was aggressive. She had seen nothing of the sort before.

Qian Meng made her way to the wall-to-ceiling glass window and stared out for the longest moment. Her eyes drifted towards the direction of Mo Qingchen's office and she wondered what he was doing.

She sprinted to her desk and pulled open the drawer. The binoculars were still there, having been unused for a couple of days. She picked them back and walked back to the window and adjusted the zoom.

She was looking directly into his office, but it looked abandoned. The lights were switched off, which was unlike Mo Qingchen. He kept his office lit up if he was in office, no matter if he left for a while or not

Her suspicion rose. They hadn't spoken in a few days and she hadn't seen him around, too. Had the rejection really hurt him and made him not want to see her? She would understand that.

She pulled out her cellphone and dialed Mo Qingchen's office. They picked up after a few rings. "Hello, this is Dynamic Tech. How may I help you?" came a pleasant voice from the other side.

"I was calling to ask if Mr. Mo is in the office today," she said vaguely.

There was a short silence. "Mr. Mo is not in the office today. He is working from home. Do you have an appointment with him?" she asked.

"No. Do you know when he will come back?" Qian Meng found herself asking.

"No, ma'am. Mr. Mo will be working from home this week due to some personal issues."

Personal issues? What was Mo Qingchen dealing with? Look at the pair of them, dealing with life separately and trudging along because they had to live.

"Okay. Sorry for wasting your time," she replied softly.

"May I ask who I am speaking with? I can set up an appointment with him if you like." The offer was welcome. It showed that Mo Qingchen's employees were well trained.

She was happy he had people he could depend on in his work life.
