Chapter 418: That Name (6)

My reality actualization rate reached a whopping 137%, including a 10% increase in return for the deletion of the level 1100 privilege of coin exchange. It was a whopping 30% increase compared to my previous reality actualization rate of 107%. So my confidence was not arrogance, because a 30% increase in my reality actualization rate was like the huge difference between night and day.

At that moment, the guy opened his mouth again.

[It’s you, right? Yeah, it must be you. Even if he couldn’t use all his capabilities as he had to pass through that narrow hole, it’s never easy to defeat Basel, the ruler of District 4. I would call it a miracle to defeat him.]

Basel was a name I was hearing for the first time, like the name Jiwon Lee.

But I knew immediately who this guy by the name of Basel was. Actually Fashant who was now in front of me mentioned that Basel was the ruler of District 4, and that he could not use all his capabilities as he had to pass through a narrow hole. This meant that he could use all his capabilities here.

So I said right away, “Oh, you mean that black liquid man? I didn’t kill him. There are many more powerful people on the Earth other than me.”

I bluffed like that because I didn’t want Earth to look weak to this guy.

But my bluffing didn’t seem to have paid off.

[Well, obviously the legendary Jiwon Lee put all his energy into making ‘Forgotten Legend’ and ‘Revival Legend’, but I wonder if he could have made more than two strong guys like you among those guys who played Forgotten Legend and the current Revival Legend. No matter how strong Jiwon Lee was, it would be impossible for him to do because it’s something he can’t do under any circumstances. ]

“…”

He mentioned the name Jiwon Lee once again. But his mention of the name this time was unusual because it suggested that Jiwon Lee was the creator of Forgotten Legend and Revival Legend. It was far from ambiguous. He clearly mentioned that Jiwon Lee made Forgotten Legend and Revival Legend.

So I could not help but be more shocked than I was when I first heard him mentioning Jiwon Lee.

Without caring about my shocked expression, he continued.

[Alright. I think this is enough of a gift for you as I’m going to kill you anyway. You’ve been collecting information for a while. But you wouldn’t get this information anywhere because it’s top secret until Kuhana devours the Earth. It’s top secret!]

As soon as Fashant finished talking, something exploded right in front of me.

Bang!

And it wasn’t just one explosion.

[Wind Explosion! Explosion! Explosion!]

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Fashant, called the incarnation of the Spirit King, gestured a few times, and a series of explosions pounded my body that was floating in the air using Fly.

The explosions were powerful.

But I was not weak enough to be overwhelmed by the explosions.

Not only had my reality actualization rate increased from 107% to 137%, but also my skills and stat points, the backbone of my reality actualization rate, had also increased considerably since I cleared the ‘Destroy the Crystal Tower’ quest.

Besides, I got 1,000 remaining stat points just because I got out of the safety zone first after arriving here in Kuhana.

But I didn’t want to respond to Fashant’s massive attacks right from the beginning, so I got out of the striking range of the explosions using Blink with zero cooldown.

Then I counterattacked right away.

“Ice Punishment!”

Bang!

Of course, I had more powerful skills such as level 10 Ice Breath, which was completely in a different league.

I was confident that if I used this skill, Fashant would get cold feet and run away without even looking at me. So I saved it for use at the decisive moment.

I was confident that I would instantly kill him if I laid out the AOE skills Blizzard and Ice Tornado, then attacked him with Ice Punishment and Ice Breath after taking away his health first.

Of course, one thing that bothered me was that he was floating in the air like me.

Because of that, my Ice Field and Multiple Thin Ice would be useless.

But it didn’t matter because I could make up for it with an increase in the damage of all ice-type skills by 7.5% as well as 6000 intellect and 3000 willpower from using the enhanced blue ancient spirit monster imprint.

Anyway my Ice Punishment hit his chest accurately, and at that moment, his flaming body exploded right away, fully exposing his head made of ice and his two legs made of soil as well as his two arms made of wind.

In an instant, a fire broke out in the gaping hole of his body that supported his head, arms, and legs, and Fashant returned to his original form. Then his body started emitting flame again like before.

[Uh? This is not what I expected!]

On the surface, he didn’t seem to have suffered any damage.

But judging from his expression and way of speaking, it seemed that he suffered damage in one way or another. And that was enough for now.

So, with a small smile on my mouth, I charged at him again, shouting, “I haven’t even started attacking you for real yet. I’m sorry if you are already embarrassed like that. Blizzard!”

Puck! Puck! Puck! Puck!

***

There is a saying that if you keep doing something, you will eventually get good at it.

Generally speaking, this is true. But it is not true for most people or everybody.

In other words, there are exceptions.

At least that was the case with me.

I studied really hard to catch up with my elder brother and sister in school, but in the end I failed. I studied really hard. So much so that I got pressure sores on my buttocks because I sat on the chair studying for such long hours, which later scabbed over.

I wanted to study as hard as I could, so I could not make the excuse that I didn’t even try to catch up to them.

But soon I realized that there were things that I couldn’t fulfill no matter how much I tried, so I resorted to games while I was struggling in frustration.

Unlike studying, the game always gave me outstanding results if I put in more time and effort, and the fruits of my labor didn’t disappear.

But the saying, ‘You will eventually become good if you keep at it’ was not necessarily true when it came to games, for there were various types of games.

For example, starting with the role-playing game I enjoyed the most, there were numerous types of games including strategy simulation games and sports games. There were games that required extreme control, while there were games that required less control.

Of course, I didn’t look for role-playing games in the first place.

To be honest, the strategy simulation game called Summoners of the Gorge, which was all the rage at that time, was my first game.

But I suffered defeat after defeat. That’s when I first found out that I wasn’t good at control games at all. Nonetheless, I kept playing games tenaciously without giving up because my sense of defeat turned into anger. I also didn’t want to be overcome by frustration again in games that I considered as something like a way of life, unlike studies that didn’t get me anywhere.

In the end, I didn’t make any progress in control games just like in studying.

So I finally gave up.

After that, I found a role-playing type of game that guaranteed continuity and progression, but the main reason I played it was because such a game didn’t require as much control as other strategy simulation games. Moreover, there was a reason why I chose ranged type and ice-types out of several role-playing games including ‘Forgotten Legend’ and ‘Revival Legend’.
