Chapter 365: Refusal (2)

When I looked at the whole situation, I recalled a certain event in the past.

Together with Mirae Gold, I once broke the crack in the wall within Revigal Legend and crossed the Japanese territory to devastate them. Back then, I acquired quite a lot of rewards for my performance during that one week.

As a matter of fact, I got rid of a considerable number of Japanese users during that one week.

And the quest now was very similar to the quest back then.

When my father, Director Sok and I checked the Judgement Key, Carlos opened his mouth again.

“I don’t think it’s necessary for you to make a big disturbance like they did in Osaka, Japan. Even if you are out there collecting intelligence quietly for 30 days, you will still receive considerable rewards. Of course, if you, Juyoung Hong, want additional compensation, we are also willing to fully accept your request.”

“…”

As Carlos said, it would be beneficial even if I just hid quietly instead of revealing myself. Excluding the considerable rewards that i obtained from the recent Borneche Expedition quest, 3,000 remaining stat points and 30,000 coins were simply too huge for anybody to obtain from any single event or quest. Especially 3000 remaining stat points were tremendous.

So I could understand why Carlos came to me with the key because his guild could never give up the quest. Obviously, they wanted me as their trump card in case of any possible danger.

Of course, I was also greedy about the quest.

Aside from the basic reward, I could purchase not only coins, but also EXP and skill points with the points I would acquire in return for my additional activities.

But I pretended to ponder over his suggestion.

Actually, I thought hard about it.

Watching me lost in serious thought, Carlos said, “If you join us, we are willing to allow five or even seven members of the Myongjin Guild to join us as well.”

Since up to 30 people could participate in this quest, his willingness to accept up to seven Myongjin members was a big concession on their part.

So I quietly opened my mouth.

“Wait a little while, and I’ll give you a definite answer.”

At the No. 3 Study a little later.

My father, brother, sister, Director Sok and Chief Security Commander Jungdae Lim gathered.

All of them looked at me squarely.

The Talagapa Guild only wanted me, and in the end, they said that they would be willing to give up seven slots for Myongjin only if I agreed to participate.

In other words, the success of this deal depended on me.

Of course, this option was not bad for me. Actually, I wanted to go to Argentina.

In particular, my desire to become stronger arose again, and the fastest way for me to satisfy my desire was to go there.

But there was one thing that bothered me. It was none other than the ‘enemy.’

But that was what was exactly written on the Judgement Key. Of course, it may not be a big deal.

Apparently, the system initially confirmed that they, which we mistook for NPCs, were our enemies.

At that moment, I understood why they chose death rather than compromising back when they faced me in Osaka, Japan. It was because I was their enemy.

‘Enemy… Then do I need to fight them now?’

I didn’t want to fight them right now if I had no choice but to confront them.

I wanted to fight them later when I knew their identities and was 100% certain in my victory because I didn’t have to bring about quick or more precisely bad results by confronting them early. What’s more, I had another question.

‘Is it possible for me to go and hide without being revealed for 30 days?’

They really made a big commotion in Osaka, Japan. And even if it was not the exact same, they might have come in a similar way to the way the Talagapa Guild found.

That’s why I could receive a huge reward even if I just stayed quiet.

However, they made such a mess of Osaka that it drew the whole world’s attention.

Of course, the modern weapons that Japan employed were responsible for more than 50% of the city’s ruins.

In any case, they were eventually killed by me, but I wondered if there was something else that caused them to make such a big disturbance other than their hostility.

And there’s no way we would not be tasked with making such a disturbance if we went there.

Moreover, there were six slots for Myongjin except for me.

It was inevitable that not only my family, including my father, but also Director Sok, would be included among them, for unlike coins, there was no way to exchange for remaining stat points, no matter how many golden rings we had.

“Hmm…”

That’s why the participants in the No. 3 Study were agonized over the best possible choice.

But I opened my mouth, watching them carefully.

“I will decline their offer.”

Of course, I may regret my decision later. I would regret it a lot if the Talagapa Guild would return to the Earth safely after 30 days of surviving there.

Nevertheless, I chose to refuse their offer.

Above all, unless they first attacked the Earth first, I felt reluctant to be the first to set my foot on the place designated as an “enemy area” by the system.

When I announced my decision, the participants including my father welcomed it with open hands.

“Good decision!”

“Good job, Juyoung. It’s definitely dangerous. Unlike other quests and events, you don’t have any information at all. I’m not sure if you can really get such big rewards even if you go into hiding for the 30 days like the Talagapa Guild suggested.”

“I agree. Obviously, the reward is sweet, but there is obviously a hidden danger. As you know, ‘Revival Legend’ doesn’t give out considerable rewards for anything trivial.”

Not only my father, but also Director Sok, head of the Intelligence Department of the Myongjin Guild, supported my decision, feeling greatly relieved.

To be honest, I’ve never rejected this kind of offer until now.

Anyway, having made that decision, I went back to the living room where they were waiting.

Then I said to them, who were smiling as if they were certain that I would accept their offer to participate in the quest, “Sorry. I can’t join you because I’ve been so busy lately.”

“What?”

“What did you say?”

Apparently, Carlos and Melina didn’t expect me to turn down their offer.

So I clearly repeated what I just said.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can join you. Your quest seems very interesting, but I have more important things to do right now.”

“…”

“…”

When I repeatedly rejected their offer, they left the living room with a heavy heart.

Watching them quietly, I had no choice but to smack my lips, for even though I didn’t quite regret my choice, I still felt sorry about having to reject such an attractive offer.

Since I had made the decision, however, I erased my regrets from my mind quickly.
