Chapter 275: Juyoung Hong (7)

My battle with Smith’s party was fierce in some respects. However, there was only me and the roots left behind on the battlefield now.

After I killed all the members of Smith’s party, I headed towards a certain place. There were some people there that I should get rid of. They were staying at the Myongjin Shelter without paying a cent, while causing some disorder.

At the main base of Myongjin Shelter No. 3.

Commander Choljin Chung had no choice but to keep his eyes fixed on the road ahead.

Under the current situation, he could not carry out the orders from his boss.

[First, if Asirante does not show up, help Smith’s party detain Chairman Sangman Hong and occupy the Myongjin Shelter.]

[Second, if Asirante shows up, try to win over his loyalty for the last time. If he is not persuaded, let him be killed by Smith’s party. After that, detain Chairman Hong according to our first plan and take over the Myongjin Shelter. (Even if Smith’s party attacks and kills Asirante after he has been won over, don’t intervene and don’t take any issue with it.)]

Commander Chung had received those orders in advance. He was prepared to execute the orders, knowing that there was little possibility that Chairman Hong would listen to him, regardless of whether he was in the first or second situation.

But the situation Commander Chung faced now was neither the first nor the second scenario.

He could not help but be very nervous right now, even frightened. He belatedly realized that he had messed with a person that he never should have.

A short time after he killed Smith and all of his party members without any hesitation, Asirante, Juyoung Hong, walked back towards the Myongjin Shelter. Of course, he was still some distance from the building. He didn’t want to cause any damage to the Shelter, so he had confronted Smith’s party in a place far from the premises and fought them there.

Nonetheless, Commander Chung knew the stranger who was now walking toward him.

“Oh my…” Commander Chung cleared his throat at the stranger’s appearance.

Did he suspect that the stranger was Juyoung Hong? Of course he did.

As was the case with the Shelters managed by other big business groups, the Myongjin Shelter was well managed as a top priority by the Myongjin Group. Besides, it had been very unusual when Chairman Hong appointed Juyoung as the head of the Shelter, instead of his eldest son Kiyoung or elder daughter Suyoung.

But Commander Chung didn’t dwell on it for long. He had rather welcomed Chairman Hong’s decision to promote Juyong to the top position, thinking Hong had made the wrong decision. His judgement was based on the misleading assumption that Juyoung was a son with lots of problems.

Commander Chung briefly thought about what had gone wrong, but he had to stop thinking about it now. He was now clearly convinced that Juyoung was walking toward him. As a matter of fact, Juyoung was now getting quite close to him…

At that moment, Commander Chung felt that the Juyoung approaching him was a huge figure.

He felt it even more every time Juyong took a step toward him, because the huge roots that had overpowered Smith’s party members were moving with Juyoung, as if they were escorting him as his bodyguards.

What’s more, something like the roots sprouted from the ground where Juyoung stepped, then sank back into the ground, as if the god of death that controlled life was approaching.

Commander Chung was staring blankly at Juyoung approaching him, shuddering uncontrollably.

Juyoung stopped before Commander Chung.

***

“…” Commander Chung was shaking visibly.

He used to be arrogant and conceited before me all the time. There was no such attitude in him now, as he stood there and shook. Eyes that were once full of arrogance were now trembling with fear.

I might have laughed at him when I recalled the arrogant attitude that had humiliated me so much. But I didn’t.

Did I want to take revenge on him for having humiliated me so much?

Since I was not a man who was very tolerant, I seriously thought of getting even with him.

But I didn’t intend to kill him for that. Although I had a good reason to kill the members of Smith’s party, Commander Chung and his troops were ordinary citizens and not worth killing. Even if I killed them, it would bring more trouble to me from the repercussions.

To be honest, I didn’t actually feel too upset about the way he had insulted and humiliated me. He was too much of a small fry for me to show my emotions at his reckless actions.

I didn’t express any feelings to him, simply saying, “I think you must feel very sorry that your wicked cooperation with Smith’s party failed.”

Commander Chung did not respond to me. I continued right away because I didn’t expect his reply, anyway.

“I’ll give you two options. You can be killed right here, or you can leave this place right now.”

“I will leave…” Although he replied a bit slowly, Commander Chung quickly decided to leave.

Since I expected that reply from him, I continued, “Good. I won’t hold you because you just said you would leave. Instead, you just have to pay for all your room and board at the Shelter here up until now, right?”

“?” He stared at me blankly.

“Oh, don’t be surprised. I don’t intend to charge you too much. Um… everything you have except for your underpants. Isn’t that cheap?”

When Commander Chung first appeared at the Shelter, he had brought lots of stuff, including dozens of military trucks transporting more than fifteen hundred soldiers, as well as sixty tanks.

Moreover, I knew that he secretly brought in a lot of supplies in order to carry out the secret plan with Smith’s party to get rid of me. In other words, he had brought a massive amount of supplies here.

How could I use the tanks? I had learned from Capt. Jungdae Lim of the security forces of the Myongjin Shelter that there were quite a few people here at the Shelter who could operate military tanks and repair them. In addition, Capt. Lim had found there were lots of experts on tanks while selecting people to prepare for situations at the Shelter.

Anyway, I came to the conclusion that it was much more beneficial to me to confiscate all their belongings except their underpants than killing all of them.

When I issued the final note like that, Commander Chung didn’t answer. I didn’t push him, since he had only one option: leave the Shelter!

As expected, Commander Chung soon replied, “…Okay.”

“Good. One hour should be enough for you to leave this place, right? I’ve told you clearly that when you guys leave, you should be wearing only your underpants. If you don’t want to be humiliated any longer, don’t try to bring any other items with you.”

As soon as I warned him, I passed by him, since I had nothing else to do for now.

What about President Kijung Kim, the mastermind of this whole operation? He was still the President who was protecting Korea!

If I attacked him directly or did something hostile toward him, it would mean my fight was with Korea, not him. Of course, I didn’t even intend to do something like assassinating him sneakily.

He was now standing on a castle of sand, so even if I didn’t attack him, he was going to gradually collapse anyway.

On the other hand, I hoped he would survive long enough to realize how bad his decision to join hands with Smith’s party to get rid of me was!
