Chapter 230: Owl (1)

[Kali: I never expected you would message me first like this!]

I sometimes communicated with Bora Yon, but this was the first time I contacted her first.

By the way, did I contact her to ask the Mirae Guild to gather herding teams for me in the Giant’s Grave?

Of course, I didn’t because that would disgrace the honor of the Myongjin Guild. Besides, it would give Mirae the impression that Myongjin was not big enough to take care of a strong player like me.

In fact, I could hunt in any hunting ground, but my choices were limited because I was looking for one with the best hunting efficiency for me.

Anyway, the reason I contacted Bora Yon was not because of the hunting ground.

Moreover, I wouldn’t have contacted her if I had not been the new head of the Myongjin Shelter.

The real reason I contacted her was because of the military units stationed not only at the Myongjin Shelter but also at the Mirae Shelter under the pretext of protecting the people.

To be honest, I’m confident of handling it by myself no matter what happens to the Myongjin Shelter. But at the same time, I don’t want to pit myself against the government by taking too much initiative to cope with the situation, for such a scenario would please Daesung, Kusan, and Daeyu very much.

Besides, the government would completely isolate Myongjin from the outside by reasoning that Myongjin moved first without consulting them.

So, I wanted to work with the Mirae Shelter because we were allies.

Of course, we Myongjin were being selfish in that we mostly looked at our alliance with Mirae when we needed their help.

[Lumen: I heard that a military unit has moved into your shelter. They also came to the Myongjin Shelter.]

[Kali: Yes, that’s right.]

[Lumen: That’s why I’ve contacted you because I am currently in charge of the Myungjin Shelter.]

[Kali:…]

It was needless to say that the shelter was the last resort and the means where survivors would hold out to the end no matter what happened. So, the head position of the shelter was a pretty important one. Since Mirae had their own shelter, Bora was well aware of the importance of the head position.

Perhaps because of that, she hesitated for a moment, then opened her mouth.

[Kali: Well, I think you are fully qualified for that position. Maybe it’s even a little late that you’ve taken it over just now.]

Bora immediately understood my point.

But I cut to the chase because I didn’t contact her to boast of my new position at the Myongjin Shelter. Besides, she was the future successor of her father Junghwan Yon, Chairman of Mirae Group, and as such she had a strong say in the Mirae Group.

[Lumen: As you know, there were some exchanges of views at the working level of both groups, but I hope we can work together to cope with the government’s measures. Our shelters are close to each other because we’re located in the same Gangwon area, so don’t you think we will be less pressured if we join hands together in response to the government’s action?]

At first, Bora didn’t respond to my suggestion.

But I didn’t rush because this was not a trifling matter. Then she responded as if she had discussed it with somebody else.

[Kali: Good! I, and our Mirae Group, agree with you. We can’t comply with the government’s actions blindly.]

[Lumne: Alright, then. I will assume that we are both on the same page.]

[Kali: Sure. By the way, can I look forward to it?]

[Lumen: What?]

[Kali: I mean, can I expect you to message me like this not only here but in reality as well?.]

[Lumen: Yeah, if need be.]

After that, I ended up exchanging some more messages with her for a little while longer.

Then I informed my father and Director Sok about my conversation with Bora because aside from the contacts of the working level, I could proceed with things more quickly if the top leadership made the decisions.

A little later, I was thinking about which hunting ground I should go to.

“By the way, what should be my next hunting ground?”

I didn’t want to go back to the Sabre Steel Tooth Tiger Habitat.

So, I sorted through the information I knew of hunting grounds level 1000 or higher with the ability to herd hunt as I slowly left the Cunning Vampire Garrison.

“Uh? Are you already leaving?”

“Why are you leaving so early?”

Once I stepped into the hunting ground, I always came out at dawn except for one or two breaks and mealtime, so the Myongjin guards asked me curiously why I was leaving so early. But I didn’t need to explain it to them in detail, so I just told them that I would not come for the time being because I had to take care of something else, then moved to the central

teleport zone. “Move to Olbini Castle.”

[You are moving to Olbini Castle.]

There was something that caught my eye while I was moving to Olbini Castle to discover a new hunting ground.

‘I’ve never seen an owl here before.” Of course, the owl didn’t look unusual, so I paid little attention to it.

I soon arrived at Olbini Castle.

But I had no skills to learn and nothing to buy at Olbini Castle, so I shouted to move again.

“Move to the Harpy Habitat.”

[You are now moving to the Harpy Habitat.]

Needless to say, I could not herd hunt in a place crowded with users. Otherwise, I would have to force them out.

However, I didn’t want to earn a bad reputation because of that, so I chose the Harpy Habitat as my next hunting ground. Users generally voided this place because the flying Harpy monsters fled into the air after suffering a certain amount of damage.

I wanted to try this hunting ground first, and if I liked it, I was going to ask Director Sok to dispatch the top players of the Myongjin Guild to help herd the monsters for me.

Until now I mainly used the hunting grounds managed by Daeyu and Mirae so Myongjin could concentrate on its development. But it was not easy for me to continue to use such

hunting grounds, so I intended to use the Myongjin-managed hunting grounds without any hesitation.

Why? Because I knew that my growth was critical to Myongjin’s growth.

Anyway, the moment I moved to the Harpy Habitat, I thought I saw something again.

It was an owl.

Of course, I might be seeing things, and even if it was an owl, it was not a special bird anyway. But there was no chance that I saw it wrong and it was definitely not a common bird.

Anyway, I didn’t turn my gaze everywhere to look for the owl, and continued moving to the Harpy Habitat.

Tramp- Tramp-

Just as I expected, when I stepped into the Harpy Habitat, it was empty.

And I kept hunting, as usual, using all my usual skills except for Blink.

“Ice Field!”

Pasasasasak!

Of course, Harpies were flying monsters, so Ice Field was not effective at all.

However, I laid not only Ice Field, but also Thin Ice all over the place because although it did not inflict any damage to the Harpies, it still buffed my power by creating an ice terrain.

“Blizzard!”

Wheeieeeeeng-

Puck! Puck! Puck! Puck! Puck!

“Kheeeeeeeeeek!”

“Kieeeeeeeeeek!”

Not only the level 1200 Cunning Vampires, but even the giant monsters in the Giant’s Grave could not withstand the power of level 9 Blizzard. This meant that the level 1000- 1100 Harpies had no chance of withstanding it because they were no different from the Cunning Vampires or giant monsters.

Anyway, the Harpies were dying like that.

Of course, some tried soaring to the air to flee, but Blizzard’s snowstorm poured from top to bottom, so they couldn’t escape from my attack in the end.

“Hmm. Not bad.”

Obviously, the amount of EXP I gained wasn’t bad, considering I was not even level 1000 yet.

However, I had to think twice about my strategy.

“Well, I think I will need a lot of monster herding teams for these guys…”

There were not many harpies, and they were not fast.

In other words, I needed a large group of herders to herd as many Harpies as possible.

“Uh? Why did they stop coming?”
