Even if that particular was just a new member of the cult, a lot of people acknowledged him due to the successive success that he achieved recently.
Those achievements were not known to the public but the higher-ups of different organizations were aware of them which was why they were being wary of the movements of the groups related to Corrupted Cult.
Immortal still had an important position within the cult, though it was rather shaky right now. A few more mistakes and he would lose the role that he was currently playing, not even his previous achievements and special abilities would be able to save him.

These were the main reasons why Immortal started making his own plans as well as the reason why he leaked the information about the Frozen Kingdom and spread the large-scale quest related to it secretly.
First, he was planning to lure those people eyeing his position and let them do all of the hard work. Then he would use the free manpower provided by the cult and take advantage of it to achieve his personal goals.
The Corrupted Cult didn't have much to lose in this, so they would not look deeply into it even though they were suspicious about a couple of things.
Moreover, there were a lot of benefits that they could get from this piece of information, so they overlooked all of the suspicious points along the way.
Meanwhile, Immortal would be making his preparations slowly and steadily. Since the Corrupted Cult was planning to toss him away, then he would take the initiative and toss the cult instead.
