...…

While David and his small group were dealing with the Artificial Mutants created by the Black Serpent Mafia, Shin, and Leonard continued to rush over to the coordinates that David had given them.

And not long after, they finally reached their destination.

They stood in front of an ordinary-looking hut situated in the middle of the mountain forest. And after looking around, Shin was able to discern that this place seemed to be the center of the mountain range. He could even see the peaks of the mountains surrounding the place if he elevated himself and stepped on a higher platform.

He then spread his Spiritual Sense in every direction, looking for any traces of life in the area. He was also doing it to see if he could find any traces of any enemy that could possibly stalk them.

But after spending quite some time, he failed to find anything. But despite that being the case, he did not dare to lower his guard as he did not want to have any unforeseen accidents happen.

He then took out a talisman that David had given him earlier. 'From what Senior Brother has said earlier, the expert within that hut is someone very close to Exalted Realm, if they have not reached it yet.'

'He also said that they are using a powerful Mentalism Technique that can affect one's mind. If I am not careful, I will be bewitched by that power and lose my mind,' he added to his thoughts while tightly holding the talisman.

He then turned to Leonard, who seemed to be acting a little weird, and could not help but asked. "Leo, what's the matter? Is there something wrong?"

Leonard turned back to Shin and smiled awkwardly. "Actually, it is not that serious. I just feel that something is calling inside that hut. It is as if-… I am being summoned."

Shin slightly raised his brows when he heard those words. He had already heard the situation from David, but he still could not help but become a little confused. After all, there were still a couple of things that were not clear to him.

According to David, Leonard seemed to have become a chosen person to receive a powerful inheritance. And this inheritance seemed to be related to a power expert from the past.

David did not explain much after saying that and refused to disclose anything more. But he at least emphasized that it was an important matter, and very safe on top of that. He clarified that it would only bring Leonard a lot of benefits without paying anything or suffering any kind of harm.

But from what David had said, Shin could not help but remember the strange marble that they had received from the Heavenly Taste Restaurant. He had an inkling that this matter seemed to be somewhat related to the thing that the place wanted to tell them.

"The secret hidden within the game," muttered Shin softly.

He still could not figure out what it was, and his strength was also not strong enough for him to learn about that secret, so he could only patiently wait until he had the qualification to learn it.

He then turned to Leonard and said. "Let's go."

At the same time, he also channeled his Mental Energy on the talisman that he was holding before moving toward the mysterious hut.

Swoosh!

They just took a couple of steps when they felt some distortions in the air. They quickly became vigilant and assumed a battle-ready position as they watched their surrounding suddenly changed in a mysterious way.

The ground seemed to have become the surface of the water while the trees and mountain peaks surrounding them suddenly disappeared. The surroundings seemed to have morphed into a mystical place that Shin and Leonard could only find within the game.

The surroundings became empty, leaving only a boundless, starry sky above.

Shin and Leonard could not help but become overwhelmed by a mystical feeling as they stared at the sky above them as well as their surroundings. They could feel the profoundness of the place even with their limited understanding and realm.

While they were looking around, they suddenly heard a calm and gentle voice talking to them.

"You finally here, Descendant of the War God, Warrior of the great Asad Tribe."

Shin and Leonard finally snapped out of their thoughts before quickly turning toward the source of that mystical voice.

Then they saw a woman sitting on her knees in the air in front of the ordinary-looking hut. She was wearing a set of ceremonial clothes while her body was releasing a gentle yet overwhelming flow of energy.

Her hands were resting on her lap while 'observing' the two despite her eyes being closed.

There was also a group of shrine maidens surrounding her, sitting in a similar position while also forming a circular formation around her.

Shin quickly recognized the maidens as they were wearing similar sets of clothes as those maidens that they had seen before in the Shrine Temple at the foot of the fountain.

"Greetings, Head Priestess," greeted Shin and Leonard while giving her a bow. They could already guess the identity of this mysterious lady based on what they had seen.

At the same time, Leonard could not help but have a conflicting feeling about what he just heard. 'Descendant of the War God? Warrior of the Asad Tribe?'

He already heard the situation from David earlier, so he already had an idea of what was going to happen. But what confused them was the words that the Head Priestess had just said. From what he could discern, it seemed like she was aware of his real origins.

He had grown up in the slums along with his little sister. He did not have any recollection of their parents as everything that he could remember was their bitter experiences when living in such an environment.

They might have experienced a couple of fortuitous encounters that made their lives much easier. But life was still hard for such a pair of young siblings to survive in a cruel world. And amidst all of these, he could not help but think of their parents that left them behind. He wanted to understand their reason, or at least to know whether they were still alive or not.

He had a lot of questions that he wanted to be answered.

And from the way the Head Priestess had addressed him, it seemed like she was aware of a lot of things. She might be able to answer him and even tell him a couple of things.

Seemingly able to hear his inner thoughts, the Head Priestess suddenly smiled and said. "You don't have to be anxious. All the answers that you are asking for will be revealed at the right time."

"I can't get involved with you too much since it will form relatively large karma once I do. And when it happens, it will cause a violent ripple in your destiny and can affect your life."

She then paused as she sensed something before pointing at the hut behind her. "We are already running out of time. If we delay any longer, the inheritance of the Thunder Lord will fall on the hands of the wrong people."

"They can cause chaos in everywhere and disturb the balance of the world."

"Enter this hut and some of your questions will be answered. It may not be what exactly you are asking for, but it will at least lead you in the right direction."

Leonard hesitated and was not sure what to do. It was at that moment when he felt a slight pat behind him, making him turn his head.

He saw Shin nodding at him and signaling him to continue.

Shin might not be sure what was happening but given that he was aware of the real organization that was causing the disturbance in this place, he knew that they would not stop taking everything until it was over.

As long as there was hope of achieving their goal, then they would do everything they could and continue extending their arms to get it.

Right now, Leonard was the only one that could prevent those guys from achieving what they wanted, so it was better for him to get the so-called inheritance rather than handing it to those wicked bastards.

Seeing the expression that Shin was making, Leonard could only nod his head and walk toward the hut. And once he entered it, he quickly saw the mysterious and ancient-looking runes drawn on the floor as well as the walls and ceiling.

He could sense the overwhelming mysteries containing those words as well as the sacred power that was sealed within them.

After looking around for a moment, Leonard found an empty spot at the center of the hut before setting crossed-legged on it before starting to meditate.

Right after he closed his eyes, the runes started releasing a blinding light before the whole room was filled with golden lightning.

Leonard did not have any idea of what was happening around him as he was already immersed in his deep meditation.

Outside the hut, Shin sat on the ground a few meters away from the Head Priestess before asking. "It seems like the Head Priestess wanted to tell me something."

Hearing that, the Head Priestess could not help but reveal a smile before saying. "You have a lot of peculiar karmic lines surrounding you, young one. Perhaps, I can help you resolve some of them."

Shin was slightly taken aback before suddenly shaking his head. There was a bitter look on his face as he answered. "There is no need to trouble the Head Priestess about it. I think I have to solve them myself."

This time, there was a hint of surprise on the face of the Head Priestess as she heard those words. "From what you have said. It seems like you can already see those 'lines?'"

See the karmic lines? What a joke!

Those experts that were on the Exalted and Transcendent Realms can see those imaginary lines.

Or perhaps those people, who had a great attainment in terms of reading fate of people through Mentalism Techniques or other strange methods.

For someone like Shin to see those lines? It was completely impossible.

Shin chuckled and said. "I've just deduced it based on what the Head Priestess has said to my friend. And adding a few things that I have personally experienced, I knew that I must solve this myself."

He might not know what exactly the Head Priestess was saying, but he could at least discern a couple of things, especially when he had already met Uno, an alter ego living within him.

The Head Priestess smiled in understanding before saying. "Your friend will take some time to receive the great inheritance. How about we have a little chat while waiting?"

"Perhaps, I can help you resolve some doubts that are bothering you when it comes to Mentalism."
