Right after the group met with David and the other three, everyone quickly reorganized themselves and started moving. They were heading to the exit as fast as possible since they all knew that this base would be swarming with more mutated humans that were coming from the outside.

David and his group just rushed here since they have to rescue these guys before the whole base was filled by those mutated experimental subjects. After all, it was going to be very troublesome once they were stuck here due to those.

During their travel, David asked the others about the situation within the base to understand the overall situation. He also had to inform John about their discoveries while the latter reported to the higher-ups.

His mission was different from the rest of the guys after all. But from the looked of it, he was a little too late for it. But at the very least, he was able to save Shin and Leonard. At the same time, he also secured the sealed inheritance of the Thunder Lord, which was saved for Leonard.

Based on what the Head Priestess had said, the destined host of that inheritance was a descendant of the War God, who was also from the Asad Tribe. And from all the people he knew, Leonard was the only person who fitted the bill.

He knew the background of Leonard since the time he first met the guy. Though, he was not sure about it at that time. But after observing the guy as well as his sister for quite some time, he confirmed his suspicion.

But he was also quite surprised about it.

He did not expect that the children of the guest elder of his clan were actually left on this continent without their parents.

It had been a long time since he had seen that uncle. From what he had remembered, Elder Fireheart left their village within Forbidden Valley alongside his wife, the princess of the Asad Tribe, to look for a cure to a certain curse.

He did not hear any news about them since then. Even his master and her husband did not know where the two went, nor hear anything from them.

He did not expect that he would meet their children here alongside his junior brother. And from his observation, Leonard inherited the bloodline and the battle prowess of their mother while his younger sister, Laura, inherited the talent of their father in terms of Mentalism.

Though, he was also quite confused why these siblings were left behind by their parents.

In the meantime, the three club presidents were chatting with Laurent as they rushed toward the existence of the laboratory.

"So, it is because of Laurent that you have been captured?" asked Laurent before wearing a mocking look. "You three lost against such a weakling? Tsk! Tsk! What a disgrace."

The three glared at him as Laurent refuted. "I can't beat that guy black and blue if it is just him! Even when he transformed into a mutated monster, I still can beat him! He even runs away from me during our last encounter!"

"And you almost lose an arm during the process," countered Laurent.

Before things could turn into an ugly argument, Julieta quickly injected. "It is Butcher, who captured us. We are powerless in front of such an expert."

"Now that I think about it, we never saw that guy as well as Coffin Maker the entire time," muttered Tir from the side before continuing. "The whole base has been torn down and all, but they are still not willing to show themselves."

David, who was listening with them, could not help but wear a deep frown. He also found it strange that those two were not making any appearances. This was giving him quite a headache, he could not figure out what those two experts were plotting in the dark.

Moreover, he was also thinking about the information that Shin had provided. It seemed like all of the personnel and guards of the laboratory were turned into mutated humans just like the failed experimental subjects.

This clearly implied that the other party was not planning to spare everyone within the base. They were all disposable people from the very start.

Their huge group steadily advanced toward the exit. They encountered quite a lot of mutated subjects along the way, and those guys were much stronger than before. It seemed like they were gradually getting stronger the more time passed. This concerned David even more.

Fortunately, their group was quite strong too. With David and the other three people from his group, slaughtering their way out of the base was just a breeze.

Not long after, everyone finally met with the reinforcements that the academy and the military forces sent.

The injured were quickly sent back while the rest, who were willing to fight and help, were left behind. After all, with their addition, their forces were only going to get stronger.

Most of the members of the Student Assistant Association were also set back since the information that they had gathered needed to be sent back to the academy for further studies.

The forces were camped outside, not daring to enter the base within the orders of the higher-ups. After all, there was a powerful monster and its large army of mutated humans inside. Charging in without having any plan would only risk their lives.

Not long after, David informed his small group that he had to bring Shin and Leonard, who were still in their disguise. The three quite realized that it must be for the task that the Head Priestess had entrusted to them.

The destined host must be one of those two – they thought.

The three fell in thought for a moment before exchanging glances with one another. Then they asked David to bring them along.

David did not refuse them. After all, these guys were also tasked by that priestess. And knew that they were curious about the said inheritance, which was one of the wonders of the world, and the opportunities left by the previous era.

These three must have some access to the information about the real purpose of the game, so there was no point hiding this from them.

After informing John and discussing it with the leader of the military and academy forces, their group quickly left.

They were rushing toward the place where they last met the Head Priestess. But during their travel, the four quickly noticed that something was wrong in their surroundings. It felt like they were being observed by something.

David exchanged glances with Vincent before they nodded their heads. Then the latter suddenly disappeared as he headed to scout the surroundings.

On the other hand, Jerimiah wore a serious look on his face while Laurent adjusted his grip over his spear.

Sensing the sudden change in the atmosphere, Shin and Leonard also prepared themselves for the battle.

And not long after, an explosion suddenly erupted ahead of them.

Boom!

The group quickly increased their pace and reached that place within a short time. Then they saw Vincent skidding back while holding his daggers in front of him.

Looking ahead, Shin and the rest saw a mutated human blocking their path.

Shin's eyes contracted a little when he saw that mutated human as he could recognize who it was. It was Shaun, who underwent a mutated transformation earlier and escaped after fighting with Lester.

But compared to earlier, there were some clear changes in this guy. It was easy to tell that its body was much tougher and stronger than before. It seemed like it finished its mutation and reached its perfect state.

David observed the mutated Shaun with his Enlightened Eyes and said. "This is going to be a little troublesome."

"That guy is hosting overwhelming energy within him. And that energy is strange. It is the first I've seen such a potent yet violent energy," he added with a solemn tone.

"It is neither an Internal Qi nor a Mental Energy. It is not an Evil Qi, nor a Demonic Qi either. Just what kind of energy is it?" commented Laurent as he also discovered the same thing as David.

The mutated Shaun, who now had a much taller and bulkier body, as well as purple skin on his arms, stared at the group while holding a pair of short spears. Compared to the rest of the mutated subjects, there seemed to be some intelligence in his eyes, albeit him not showing any signs of being conscious.

"He is giving a feeling of being a mechanical puppet or something," muttered Shin while knitting his brow.

Clank! Clank!

While they were staring at this mutated monster, they heard the clanging sounds of chains coming from the depth of the woods. They could also hear that something was dragging those chains while making its way toward them.

Not long after, they saw another mutated human with a similar body size and structure as Shaun. But this time, instead of its arm being purple, it was its torso and neck which had different shades of that color.

There was also a metal frame attached to its jaws, covering the lower part of its mouth. Its eyes were completely white, but Shin and the rest could tell that it was staring straight at them.

One of its hands was holding a huge scimitar while the other was holding a long chain that wrapped around its arms.

There was a small, rectangular, metal plate attached on its chest, which had the words 'Prototype I' engraved on it.

"It looks like one of the most 'successful' subjects that they have?" commented Jerimiah as he clicked his tongue.

But that was not the end, since another one arrived.

It was another mutated human wearing an old robe slightly in tatters. It also had a similar build to the other two, but it had a pair of horns sticking out on its forehead. Its eyes were closed as it showed some signs of being sewn by metal wires.

It was sitting on its feet on a tree branch while 'looking' at the group. Its arms were resting on its knees, giving off an aura that seemed to be the most intelligent among the three.

There was also a similar-looking metal plate imbued on its arms with a label of 'Subject 007' engraved on it.

Based on the pair of broad swords hanging on its back, it was pretty obvious that it was a sword wielder.

David wore a solemn look on his face as he could tell that each of these mutated subjects was much stronger than any of them in terms of overall features. Even the overwhelming energies within them were much larger than any of them.

Moreover, he also could sense that there was another one, which was similar to these mutant subjects hiding in the depths of the woods.

He turned to Shin and Leonard before saying. "You two continue ahead. Leave these guys to us."

"You will only be a burden," he added as he signaled to others to prepare for battle.
