Chapter 202: Dreams of Dark Stranger
( At the same time. )
[ Richter-Grimshaw House. ]
Duncan is sleeping with Irina in their room, the two shared a bed peacefully as the two sleep with no disturbances for some time.
"( It feels good, I haven't slept well like this. )" Duncan thinks within his mind, despite his technically 'asleep' earlier, his mind however, somehow kept him between the realm of reality and dream despite most of his body already resting.
"( This soft feeling like a pillow, Irina's with me, isn't she? )" Duncan could at least still his wife's body, hugging him hard.
Irina moans with the lowest tone, but Duncan could still manage to hear it. She rubs her skin more to Duncan's chest, as the two are both clothless in their room, covered only by their blanket and bedcover.
"( She's still as soft as ever despite all of that build-up muscle and Dragon Curse stuff. )"
"( Reminds me of the first time we finally could legally rub our skins to each other, after our very marriage. )"
"( Oh, so great. )"
"( Seriously I feel so great, her body is so warm... )" Duncan says after she feels Irina's body, his mind and body begin to fully rest after he feels Irina beside him.
When he finally rests, his mind begins to enter the world of dreams, for Duncan begins to dream about something, something he used to remember ever since.
Before the time he met Irina*.

" Subject DG-525 escaped, Gakhh! " said a person as he screams, in fear and horror, escaping from something dangerous
Screams of horror could be heard, blood splatter and guns blazing happened, as a being growled with anger, killing the people relentlessly, the explosion happened, buildings were destroyed and chaos erupted in the unspecified place
" Subject DG-525 is on the loose, contain him now or else he'll wreak havoc upon the outside world! " said one of the people present at that unspecified moment.
" No, no! " Duncan says within his dream, as he dreams more, the chaos and destruction begin to increase as the dream continues to take a dark turn.
" I have to leave, I will never stay here forever. "
" Get out of my way! " Duncan screams as the screams of the horror of the people inside that dreams begin to increase, so brutal as the chaos and death, the shooting, the blasting, everything is in jeopardy as the people fight against this 'Subject DG-525'.
" I won't be caged again, this time I will be free, this time... " Duncan cries in his dream, he shouts in anger, growling, enraged so much as it happens within his dream.
" The freedom is mine! My life is my own! "
" Hraah!!! " Duncan screams as he then wakes up from his dream, instantly.
Duncan breathes hard, he awakes from his dream with sweats flooding his body, as he wakes, he sees Irina already awake beside him, looking at him with worried eyes as she hugs him tight during that gasping he just did.
" Duncan? " Irina calls him as her hand touches his cheek.
Not just that, Adria, their daughter who sleeps in her own bed near them, cries hard as she wakes up due to Duncan's crazed panic scream.
" Is everything alright!? " Vector the family's butler comes in along with some people who guard the house, he sees Irina hugging Duncan as he also sees Duncan crying.
As it happens, Irina stares at them for just barging in without her permission, she then orders them to get out and leave them be while she calms Duncan down.
" Honey, it's alright, don't be afraid. " Irina hugs him comfortably, trying her best to comfort Duncan's current mental state.
" No, I won't return to that place again, I will not go back... " Duncan says as he shivers at what he sees in his dream.
" That accursed place, I swear that I will not go back, no matter what it takes. "
" I will be free, I... swear... "
" I will be... " Duncan shivers as Irina pats him and leans his head over her chest, she doesn't say anything and just lets Duncan have his time.
As she hugs Duncan, Duncan then holds Irina's hand, he slowly calms down as he looks over Adria.
" The little girl is crying, my dear. " Duncan tells Irina when seeing Adria crying in her bed.
" You should calm her down more than me, she needs to get more sleep, more than us could've gotten. " Duncan tells Irina as he calmly makes Irina's hand un-pat him.
Seeing it, Irina, sees Duncan with worry, realizing that something serious is happening to him right now, something that for years, she saw him like this, having bad dreams.
At this moment, to her, Duncan's behavior is so strange after years of their marriage. Even Irina almost thinks that this must've happened because of outside interference for she quickly uses her Dragon Eye.
[ Magic Dragon Eye: Vision Ray ]
Irina uses it to see around the house, looking for anything that could've caused this, seeing every corner, wondering if Duncan just received a Spell Attack that causes him to have nightmares.
"( Where is it? )" Irina thinks as she inspects every corner that she could see with her Dragon Eye, but...
" Dear, please... " Duncan calls her, asking Irina to focus on Adria, to calm the little girl down.
" Don't worry, wife... " Duncan tells her as he kisses her forehead.
" I'll be alright, it's probably just a random nightmare, a bad dark dream. " Duncan says to Irina she then responds with silence for minutes before agreeing with him.
"Alright. " Irina says while kissing Duncan on the lips.
" Thank goodness it's just a bad dream, honey... " Irina says as she leaves Duncan to take care of Adria, realizing that the girl is not only crying but also peeing on her bed.
As the two leaves for the bathroom, Duncan was left alone as he tries to stabilize his breathing.
" Fuh, hah... " Duncan says as he then pulls out his hand from the blanket, the hand he hides earlier he sees his hand turning black, into a monstrous sharp-long hand.
" What's going on? "
" Why did 'that' had to appear again? " Duncan asks as he tries to turn his hand back to normal, he stands up from his bed, trying to find his [Dimensional Pouch], he opens it and pulls out some kind of pills, he looks at it for a while and takes it in, swallowing it.
" Gah! really can't take a break from this thing, can't I? " Duncan says as he looks at his whole body again, making sure it's normal.
" This should work, time to go back to sleep. " Duncan says after drinking the pills, he breathes for a while before sleeping and then tries to close his eyes as he tries resting again.
For good.
As it happens, from the shadows around the corner of the room, many eyes are watching Duncan as they witness all of the things happening in the room while using their <Link> to share their sights with their Young Master.
" What the... " Donovan asks as he sees the whole thing, he is instantly reminded of what Tenebrae said to him before he returns home.
"( Before he met your mother just like the ones in his biography he always told you about. )"
"( Your father once belongs in the Dungeons, just like you. )"
Donovan remembers after seeing his father's 'hand', realizing that Tenebrae might've told the truth.
" Oh by the Mana, he's saying the truth? " Donovan says while thinking about it.
As Donovan thinks about it in his room, in the parents' room, Duncan who's already fallen asleep once more, finally could sleep normally thanks to the pills he had taken out.
Dreaming about the past, but this time, a more..., favorable one.
*Duncan snores*
