Chapter 172: Escaping Alviheim
( Hours later. )
This is Draven (Donovan), here.
Our group, the rescue group finally rescue my grandfather from his cell in Alvitor prison after I killed the Forest Elf Queen, along with some other 'human hostages' placed in that prison, those whom we can brought home.
I ended her life after seeing her torturing my father, for whatever reason I couldn't forgive.
At first, I really want to discuss her reason with her, but seeing the situation, I immediately thought it is just to immediately end that monstrous plant elf woman on the spot, using the [Vermillion Flame] to effectively deal with that thing.
I know this sounds sadistic to all who see it, but she tortured my father before I came so I gotta give her a payback.
Still, after killing the Queen and Healing my father which almost killed me, Mom kinda has the wrong idea there which is obvious due to my 'healing' method, as I just burned that with the [Vermillion Flame] to let it heal him.
"( It was such a crazy debacle afterward, after I also present myself as 'Draven' to mom. )"
"( Well, that's better... )"
"( After all, after we fought Tenebrae back then*, Mom who sees Dad coming home with Guildmaster Resha kinda had doubts for him ever since, he thinks he cheated on her as he come home with another woman. )"
"( Well, at least I make it clear as one of the witnesses for that matter, and since things had escalated quickly to a better condition... ) " I think to myself regarding it, for I and the others are running to escape the realm, grandpa Hector whom we just freed, told us there's an Elven Gate Portal Controlling Device that the Elf created to manipulate the opening Gates in Alviheim, with that, we all could quickly come home without having to wait for days for a Gate to our home to be opened by nature.
" Are you sure, it's here? " Agniz asks Hector who is currently carried by Duncan and Fernando.
" It's here, in this place. " Hector says while coughing for a bit.
" The [Gatebridge Device] is here, I've heard from the guards who guarded me. "
" [Gatebridge Device]? " I asked Grandpa about it.
" Yes, like the [Transport Pillars] we just used to get here, it is one of the Elves' great crafts of technology that we humans would never create in a short period of time. "
" It is told by the Elf Guards that the [Gatebridge] is currently off, if we could charge it- "
" Does it require a lot of Mana? " I asked Grandpa as we run towards the huge Device, we already get near to it where the place it was put is currently empty, probably because all Elven Guards who guard it had to go to Alvitor Prison which had just been destroyed, everything there and the Region around it is in chaos.
As we approached it, I see it in its inactive mode which I primarily guess I had to share my Mana to activate it.

" Wow, amazing. "
" I didn't know you could even do this. " Guildmaster Resha says to me as I activated it right after sharing my Mana with it.
" Ya all go! " I told them, telling them to go first after the [Gatebridge] is activated.
" What about you, masked one? " Grandpa Hector asked me, and he told me to come with them.
" No, ya all should go first. "
" For someone needs to close the [Gatebridge] behind, before the Elves also get in through this Gate too, a chance ya all wouldn't want. " I simply tell them.
" But could you hold them off, though? " Dad asks me, questioning me if he should also help me to guard our way out.
" No need, I can deal with this. " I told them, releasing my huge Mana Pressure and Aether Aura to scare them.
" Now leave, I still have business here! " I ordered them which they understand due to seeing my ominous pressure towards them, it make them afraid and leave through the [Gatebridge].
< " User Donovan, you should leave too, you- " >
" No, not yet... " I tell the System for I could sense something coming towards my location at such a high speed.
"( I see, it's those guards who teleported themselves using the [Transport Pillars]. )" I think regarding it, as I see the pillar we went through to teleport here glows.
< " User Donovan. are you? " > System asks me to immediately destroy the Pillar before the incoming Elves could transport here, to this very place.
" I'm not taking any chances. " I tell the System.
" In order to make sure we get home, I must make sure that only 'we' that go home, are not pursued by these Elves. " I said to the System as I approached the [Gatebridge].
" If only I... " I asked myself regarding this and suddenly a crazy thought comes into my mind when I checked the <System Map>.
"( This place. ) "

( Meanwhile. )
" Emperor, I have bad news! " said an Elf Soldier.
" What is it? " said the Elf Emperor, coming to Valines for he sees Alvitor prison's remains.
He is so pissed when seeing this, for he then asks the soldier what news he wants to bring.
" It's the soldier we sent, they returned back to us. "
" They said they were all kicked back from the [Transport Space], they told us that they were pulled back to Valines from the [Gatebridge] stronghold. "
" What!? " the Elf Emperor shouts, he is so surprised, wondering how could this happen.
" It couldn't be...? " the Emperor could only guess the possibility.
" Grhhh...! " he gets pissed off, for he could only guess that now they have to go to 'that place' on foot.
" How far do we have to go to the [Gatebridge]? " the Emperor asks the soldiers nearby regarding the numerical distance from Valines to the Gatebridge, as he asks that question, the soldiers then told him that based on their maps, it's...
" It's long, I know! " the Elf Emperor says as the soldiers whom he asked only say 'um' and 'uh' when the Emperor questioned the [Gatebridge's Stronghold]'s actual distance which was located too far from Valines, for it's in the Elven Mountain, hence why the Elves always go there through their [Transport Pillars].
" Great, now we have to get there using the foot. " the Emperor says.
" Should we depart immediately, my liege? " the soldier captain asks.
" It could take days... "
" Even if we used our Flying Creatures, you would probably face the Mountains' sky predators during your journeys. " the Emperor tells them.
" That's why I ordered to put as many pillars in that place as we needed to get to that place and now since it was destroyed one by one. " the Elf Emperor says as he could only think about the situation while looking at the [Gatebridge]s location.
" Whoever did this, I vow to give them their reckoning. " the Emperor could only vow after so many losses happened in one day (Valines is part of the 'Lands of Day', so it never goes night).
While the Emperor curses those who did this, on the other hand, Draven is bringing so many explosives found into the [Gatebridge]s stronghold, he tries to use them to create a 'Time Bomb'.
" Is it correct, System? "
< " It should be per the instructions System gave you. " >
" Then let's go. "

The [Gatebridge Device] then does its purpose and after some time, the time explosive brought nearby the Device exploded as it destroy the Gatebridge, making it obliterated which means, the Elves now must build it again from scratch and thus, could only rely on Natural Gates without able to pinpoint to earth for invasion, thus halting their invasion for now.
Seeing it from afar, the Elf Emperor sees the huge explosion from Valines as he sees the Gatebridge's Stronghold in the Elven Mountains emit huge smoke, which means that it must've been destroyed.
" Those humans... " the Emperor says as he witnesses this, clenching his fists.
While drowning in anger, he sensed a presence, a Dark familiar presence amongst the crowds.
"( Oh, it's him. )" the Emperor says as he suddenly sees Tenebrae amongst the crowds.
"( What does he want? )" he asks while Tenebrae then gets covered by the crowd and disappears before the Emperor's eyes.
" Curse you. " the Emperor says after seeing Tenebrae disappear.
