Chapter 135: Vermillion Flame Part 2

[ The Underground Slave Prison, Under the Vermillion Residence. ]

" Will the Black-Robed mister be alright, Mrs. Elf? " said one of the freed slaves, they asked Tania if it was alright for Draven to go out there alone.

" Do not worry for the Young Master, cute ones," she says while calming the still-afraid freed slave girls.

" Young Master is strong, stronger than any mages you have in your race. "

" He is above us, Young Master in itself is an existence that couldn't be explained in any term, he is a different level of being. " Tania tells them, she expresses her fanaticism over Draven (and his original identity, of course), she expresses her admiration over him, in front of the Slave Girls she tells them that there's nothing to worry about when the Young Master had stated that he will kill the one who makes the slaves like this.

" Are you sure, Mrs. Elf? " said the slave girl as she begins to be influenced, she remembers Draven's persona when he released her with the others in their section earlier, which touches their hearts.

They recount Draven's peaceful yet informal tone which makes him friendlier to them as if he positioned himself at their level. He sounded so natural, despite they knew in their hearts that he probably, for a chance, say that just to comfort them, but still.

"( That shadowy-robed guy, the one that Mrs. Elf here called 'Draven', seems nice, I wonder who he is actually? )" the young slave girl wonders in her mind, wondering who is actually 'Draven' behind that mask of his.

...

( Meanwhile. )

[ Location: Vermillion House Residence, Aile Phénix ]

In the blazing crimson fire, done by Ashford Vermillion, comes the prince of Shadows, Draven.

He confronts him, meeting him on the spot after he managed to wipe out the Black Shadows sent to scour all important people in the place and eliminate them.

But sadly, they were all duped out, for they suddenly met the Boss who comes out from his safety zone to face the fodder Black Shadows, wiping them out in an instant.

" I sense an ominous presence within you..., whoever you are... " Ashford says as he looks at Draven who dares stands in front of him.

" You must be the 'Black Creatures' leader, huh? " Ashford asks Draven.

" Ya must be damn stupid to didn't recognize who I am? "

" To think that a 'should-be-smart' person like you had to take minutes in order to identify me. " Draven says, sighing that he failed to make Ashford realize how powerful he was, he was aiming to make Ashford cower before him in their first encounter.

But fate has another thing in mind, it seems Ashford is not the type that could be intimidated with half-intent pressure, he must be given more.

" Do you realize the difference in power between you and me? " Draven asks Ashford as he shows more of his ominous presence of power.

Realizing it, Ashford begins to respond by unleashing his Mana Presence too, he does not want to be intimidated.

" You 'petit bout de merde' ('little piece of sh*t'), you dare to intimidate me. " Ashford shouts for he wastes no time performing some pressure Clash of mana and goes straight for the attack, swinging his blade imbued with his fire.

" I'll make sure that you'll become ashes in seconds! " Ashford says to Draven as he attacks.

[ Purger Phoenix Slash ]

As he slashes, the fire begins to explode, it was an explosive type of slash, capable of not only slicing a powerful opponent but also burning and incinerating them into ashes, using the unprecedented spark of flames, pouring out from it.

It is a powerful Fire Magic Skill, the fires of the Phoenix, the Vermillion Bird, the bird's very color that the Vermillion family gets their name from.

Once upon a time, the Vermillion's very ancestor founded a stranded Phoenix in their castle. the ancestor treated it with care until the bird is fully restored. When it was restored, the Phoenix decides to repay the ancestor by giving him one of its fiery feathers.

It is said that the Phoenix told the ancestor in his mind that he must eat the fiery feathers to gain more powerful fire magic than the other mages, which the Vermillion ancestor obeyed as he feast upon the feather, gulping its heat as the feather's fire begin to spread upon his body, giving him the 'Vermillion Fire' a fire that never fades as it will set aflame in the darkest of realms and in the deepest of the sea.

This fire is inherited from that ancestor to his very present descendants, the Vermillion House. The same fire that was given from the Phoenix as it sparked the Vermillion descendants for years. Making them not only powerful in magic but also in their spirit, as their hearts are filled with fire, making them always yearn for things that make their blood boil.

Extreme situations, competition, and conquest. This is what the Vermillion lives for, their lives are these things and not for anything other than those. Hence why they simply could not restrain themselves, no self-restraint at all, for they were all trained to always spark their desires like a flame, it is their biology.

" How was that? " Ashford asks.

" This is the Vermillion's most powerful attack, it- "

" Only this? " Draven interrupts as he shows himself, unscathed he holds Ashford's sword with his left hand, using his fingers.

" You, you! " Ashford was so surprised as this happens, for he had never ever in his life to ever seen a person survives the flames of Vermillion.

" Ashford Vermillion, ya have fallen from yar grace... " Draven says as he disses the blade away, pushing Ashford back from his current position.

" Do not tell me that this is what the 'Vermillion Fire' could only offer? "

" I will be disappointed if this really was the case for you, slaver-ish bastard! "

" 'Comment oses-tu' ('How dare you') !? "

" You don't call me bastard, unknown stranger! "

" I am Ashford Vermillion, I am the Current Head of the Vermillion House. "

" In my authority, there's no one that should dare fight against me! "

" But I can..., I really can... " Draven responds to Ashford.

" For I am the Prince of the Blackest Shadows, I am the one who will bring the shadow out into the sun..., and moon. "

" For in every fire, ma shadows will never turn back into ashes, the things that they all were, the ones you destroyed... " Draven tells me as he then summons the Black Shadow Dark Elves again.

< Summoning Black Shadows >

" Hello again, young master... " the Black Shadow Dark Elves were summoned, the ones that Ashford just killed earlier.

" What the!? how is this possible, I destroyed them, obliterate them!? " Ashford says as he becomes more enraged, his Vermillion Fire sparked even more for he becomes more infuriated.

" Fool, no one can destroy the shadows... " Draven says.

< Vague Memory Voices Activated >

"( The shadows are indestructible, it will never be destroyed. )"

"( It is stronger than the darkness, for it always survives against any element. )"

" Even if the darkness burned by the fire and the light, the shadows will always stand. "

" Only fools that think the 'Dark' and the 'Shadow' are the same, it is different. " Draven says while countering every attempt of attack from Ashford's blade.

" So what if it was different? "

" All of it should be destroyed by my 'Vermillion Fire', I shall incinerate it! "

" DO YOU UNDERSTAND*!? " Draven slashes the fiery slash with his might, it created a great shockwave, impressing the summoned Black Shadows.

" Go, young master! hurrah! "

"( Honestly the <Vague Memory Voices> is the one who told me in my head, those random memory voices from who-knows-who, says some slang from a fictional thing that was popular to boys... )"

"( I think it's more of an Easterion thing, I don't know. )" Draven says in his mind, being Donovan for a while as he acts though.

" Yar a type that will never learn, Ashford Vermillion. "

" A shame that ya will never defeat me, with such pathetic of what you call Phoenix Fire. " Draven tells him as he beats Ashford despite him fully using his Vermillion Fire Magic.

He beats the shit up on Ashford, for he still can't believe that his 'Vermillion Fire' would work against Draven at all.

"( It's impossible... )" Ashford says while being beaten, despite his muscular and tall figure than Draven.

Guess appearance doesn't really matter much if you're too weak after all.
