Chapter 175 – Cad Dad Going Home

Early morning in a high school, two Korean students, who came to school early, were watching clips of the Pangu Online game together.

“Dude, the game is nuts.”

“I thought World Two’s story events were insane, but this one takes the cake.”

“Nah, World Two is still better by miles. At least, players can join in the event. But this one is just cinematic purpose.”

The clip showed the battle between a Godzilla and a mysterious green being inside the meteor. As soon as they fought, everything erupted. The nuke-like blast destroyed Siren City. All players, including the clip owner, were killed.

The clip ended, and the two high-school students continued to discuss the game.

“Yuan Empire is done for. By the way, where are you in the game?”

“I’m still loitering in Yeet City.”

“Why are you still hanging around that beginner city? Come with me to Midgard. We have a lot of free hunting grounds here without those nasty gold farmers.”

“But aren’t Midgard ruled by those high-leveled NPCs? Can a player even cross the border to that country?”

“Here’s a trick, dude. You just need to swear allegiance to Asgard, and you can get access to Midgard and other vessel states.”

“You can do that?!”

The two students got louder as they talked. They continued chatting in the classroom while they were waiting for the class to begin.

In the first row of the class, a tall male student sat at his desk, dozing off and snoring. As he had a good dream, he drooled and giggled.

While the guy was enjoying his beauty sleep, a female student stomped toward him and kicked his chair.

“Jungwoo-Oppa! Where were you last night?! Why did you suddenly leave me in the karaoke?!”

Because of the powerful kick, the chair was bent. However, the male student didn’t seem to be hurt as he slowly opened his eyes and yawned.

“Oh, good morning, Tae Ran.”

Seo Jungwoo stretched, revealing his toned physique and his handsome face. He rubbed his eyes and lazily gazed at his childhood friend, who was attending the same school.

Jungwoo blinked several times. He faintly saw a game status menu behind his eyelids, but he got used to it. He smiled at Kang Tae Ran.

The girl had a similar name to the player that had exchanged the Chameleon skill book from Xiaomao. However, she was not the same player.

“Don’t good morning me?! You were supposed to stick around with me until the party was over. Where did you run off to last night?” Tae Ran pouted and lightly punched Jungwoo.

Jungwoo wryly smiled and blocked the jabs with his palms. His hands were full of callus, which was the result of his Kendo training.

“My bad, Tae Ran. I had something urgent to do.”

Tae Ran pouted. She pinched his cheek, “You didn’t go and see some girls, did you?”

“Of course not! I have no time for girlfriends. If I have that much free time, I would have used it for my sword practice!”

For an unknown reason, Tae Ran was still mad at him. She squeezed his cheek as hard as she could and stomped away.

“You sword maniac! Stay single forever! Hmph!”

“…”

Looking at Tae Ran’s back. Jungwoo sighed. He rubbed his red cheek that was pinched, but it instantly healed. Because of the slight pain and heartache, Jungwoo was now fully awake.

He brought out his phone and browsed the game’s website. After he had logged in with his main account, he could see his game character’s profile, detail, and items in possession.

Ran Tae

Jungwoo bitterly smiled as he watched the character, whom he named after his childhood friend’s name. He rubbed the numb cheek and thought to himself.

‘I guess I should confess to her one of these days. But if we start going out, I won’t have enough time to play with swords or the game anymore. Sword, game, or a girlfriend… what should I choose?’

Jungwoo closed his eyes, and the game menu behind his eyelids became clearer. In addition, one of his unique skills sent him a message.

[Byakko Instinct]: “What do you think your girlfriend prefers, a limp sword or HARDEN SWORD? HAHAHAHA!”

‘Shut it, Byakko!’

Jungwoo scratched his head and opened his eyes. He also brought out a black crochet hat to wear, hiding the itching white tiger ears on his head.

After adjusting his chair and desk, Jungwoo thought of the event today. He was relieved that he logged out early yesterday to prepare for today’s exams.

‘Once the tests are over, I’ll go back to the forest and explore Tian Yuan Mountain.’

.

Meanwhile, Xiaomao and his crew already adapted to the brand-new ship. Although they lost some of their supplies, gunpowder, and food, everybody was happy with Titanic II.

The cabins were clean and fully furnished, unlike the moldy and rusty ones in the old ship. The hull’s painting was still fresh and bright, and there were no patched parts, which was pleasant to look at.

Andrew was the one with the brightest smile when he saw the glossy cannons. He hugged and caressed one of the cannons as if he was appreciating a new toy.

Shepherd and Magdalene couldn’t stop staring at the new sail clothes and ropes. They looked firm, stable, and strong to the point that they had the urge to summon another windstorm to accelerate the ship.

Peter, on the other hand, explored the bottom deck. He found an empty room at the back of the ship. Instead of ignoring it, he brought out a crayon and began measuring the size, width, and length of the area as if he had planned to install something here.

James and John didn’t wander around much. They found a set of chess pieces and a chess board, so they sat in a cabin, playing chess to kill time.

Xiaomao, Lucky, Mimir, and Taotie remained at the captain’s cabin. They discussed a new plan for their journey while they were looking at the sea map, which came with the ship.

Xiaomao drew a path from Siren City Sea to the Northwestern Peninsula Sea, where Comet Mansion was. Then, he drew a line from the northwest sea to the island chain, north of Seaside Town.

“Quite a detour trip,” Taotie grumbled. “At this rate, it will take days to reach your destination. Shouldn’t we use our magic and fly the ship in a straight line?”

Mimir rolled his eyes, “That will attract too much attention toward us. Right now, we’re fugitives. If we rush to the islands, we will expose our current location and our destinations. At least, when we’re in the sea, nobody can tell where we’re going.”

Lucky looked at her master.

“So, we’re going back to the dungeon?”

Xiaomao’s eyes brightened. He looked at everybody.

“Senior Mimir, Senior Taotie, do you know that I’m a dungeon master?”

“And?” Mimir and Taotie were aware of Xiaomao’s classes and skills. They were curious about what the kitty had in mind.

“We’ll visit Cernun first. Then, I’ll introduce you to my new base of operation. Also, if possible, I would like to consult you regarding another calamity-class monster under my dungeon.”
