Chapter 337 Making up for it
There were only Jiang Jingcheng and Assistant Liu in the room after Gu Yan left. Looking at Jiang Jingcheng who was drowsy, Assistant Liu couldn’t bear to ignore him. She needed to take care of him for he was drunk.
Her anger went away at once. Exactly, women were fickle.
Around five hours later, Jiang Jingcheng finally woke up.
Looking at strange surroundings and the unfamiliar bed he slept on, Jiang Jingcheng uncovered the quilt only to find that he was wearing a brand new set of pajamas. “What happened? Did someone change the clothes for me?” He thought confusedly.
So he just got out of bed, put on slippers and went to the door lightly，looking around curiously at the door. At that moment, Jiang Jingcheng smelt a delicious smell. Someone was cooking.
He came to the kitchen following the odor of food and saw a familiar figure. It was Assistant Liu. Jiang Jingcheng was confused why he was in her home. He patted his head and tried to recollect what exactly happened, but failed.
When Jiang Jingcheng saw Assistant Liu was about to come out with a bowl of noodles in her hands, he ran gently back to bedroom and jumped on the bed, pretending to fall asleep.
Assistant Liu came in with a bowl of noodles and a pair of chopsticks in her hands. She glanced at the misplaced slippers and saw Jiang Jingcheng, who covered all his body with the quilt, snored and pretended to sleep.
So Assistant Liu cleared her throat and said, “Save it. I got you! I made a bowl of noodles for you. You can go after having it.” She left the noodles and a pair of chopsticks on the chair behind the table and looked at him again. But Jiang Jingcheng made no response.
Assistant Liu didn’t say anything and decided to leave. After all, the relationship between them was not so close as before.
“Liu, do you have any questions for me?”
Jiang Jingcheng finally got out of bed, staring at her back with eyes full of guilt and expectations. He knew exactly it was him who got many people in trouble, including Gu Yan. He longed to be forgiven.
“You owe me an explanation, don’t you?” Assistant Liu turned back and looked angry. She looked at Jiang Jingcheng disgustedly.
Jiang Jingcheng was more frustrated and guiltier. He said with his head down, “Liu, come here. I want to talk to you.”
Jiang Jingcheng reached out to pull her over. Actually Assistant Liu was curious that what was it that made him force himself to fall in love with a woman he didn’t love for half a month.
“You get ten minutes to explain it to me.” Assistant Liu sat on the bed and lowered her head. She dared not to look into Jiang Jingcheng’s eyes because she was afraid to forgive him easily. After all, she loved him more than herself, but she couldn’t stand betrayal and lies.
The intense curiosity compelled her to sit here and listen to all the incredible things that had happened to this man.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that. But you know what, I was forced. I didn’t want to hurt you. Trust me. I really hope you can find a man who loves you in the future. You won’t be happy with me. Sorry, I deceived you but I would like to make up for you. I will give you whatever you want. I really hope you can forgive me.”
The every single word from Jiang Jingcheng hurt Assistant Liu so much.
Assistant Liu gritted her teeth and finally asked the question she had been brooding about, “Have you had any crush on me, even a little?”
Jiang Jingcheng lowered his head without a word. He knew it had a moment he got those feelings to Assistant Liu, but he couldn’t tell her because he didn’t want to hurt her again. She was innocent and she deserved true love.
Assistant Liu got frustrated when she saw his indifferent expression. She couldn’t help crying and her tears ran down from her cheeks.
“Interesting...” Assistant Liu sneered. It was all just a dream. She thought she was the happiest woman in the world. But now, she was the poorest one. Assistant Liu laughed louder.
“Come on, Liu. Calm down please. You have to move on. It’s not worth breaking your heart for me. I don’t deserve you. You will meet your Mr. Right.”
Assistant Liu felt more ridiculous. The muscles at her mouth were twitching. It occurred to her that she had overlooked the most important thing. That was the reason why Jiang Jingcheng did that.
“Why did you do that? Did you leak the project plan of our studio?” Assistant Liu stood up and asked him.
Jiang Jingcheng looked up and saw her sharp eyes. With a long sigh, he decided to confess. Everything was because of him, so he had to face it and admit his mistakes.
“Yes, it’s me. I was on the wrong side of the tracks when I stepped into the studio from the very beginning. I thought I was right but now it looks like I screwed up. I have ruined my reputation.” Jiang Jingcheng shrugged his shoulder and sighed.
“So your purpose is to take the studio down?” Assistant Liu’s tone was more satirical.
“Yes.”
“So why? President Gu is so kind to you. Although you are a new comer in our studio, President Gu gets you promoted regardless of others’ objections because she thinks you are capable and talented. Is that how you thanked her?”
“Do you have a conscience? What kind of advantages you can get from doing it? Do you know how big troubles we are in now? We can’t hold out much longer. Thanks to you, now our colleagues are going to lose their jobs. Do you feel better now?”
Assistant Liu was getting more and more excited. She kept scolding Jiang Jingcheng and said, “Jiang Jingcheng, you are an ungrateful man.”
“It was selfish of me to believe others’ words for my own purposes. It was my fault. I won’t make excuses to hide it. I know you are not going to forgive me, but I’ll try hard to make up for it.” Jiang Jingcheng was excited, too. He almost lost his mind and his voice was almost hoarse. He was falling apart.
“How can you make up for what you have done? You have nothing. The apology doesn’t work at all.” Assistant Liu thought the man subverted her perception of him. She knew nothing about what he thought in his mind and did. The man she had been in love with all along was just a doll!
For a moment, they were both fell silent, and the atmosphere was cold to the extreme.
