“All right. You can keep working if you think everything is OK. But just let me know if you are too tired. I will let you go home and rest.”
Gu Yan looked up at Jiang Jingcheng and found that the man was thinking of something. Gu Yan thought that the man in front of her suddenly became more stable than ever. It seemed that Jiang Jingcheng was not the one who used to naturally engage with people and who could share everything with her.
“President Gu, how about the project plan? Is there anything that I should modify? I can do it if necessary.” Jiang Jingcheng pointed at the files in Gu Yan’s hand again.
“It’s very good, but you ignored some crucial details. Come on, I have some new ideas. Let’s talk about that...” Gu Yan stood up, came to Jiang Jingcheng and sat down on the sofa with him.
“First of all, it is not appropriate at here. It should be...”
Gu Yan started to explain her views and Jiang Jingcheng listened carefully. He sometimes nodded his head patiently and sometimes expressed his ideas. They had discussed for two hours, which was an intense but harmonious scene.
“Okay, that’s it. You can add what we have talked on the plan and I will make the last review. After that, we can just send it to Part A company.”
“Jingcheng, you are really the person who has ideas and abilities. Continue to work hard and I have faith in you.” Gu Yan was satisfied and smiled at Jiang Jingcheng, “I will train you. You will be a successful man in the future.” Gu Yan said lightly.
“No problem, President Gu. I’ll go to modify the project plan if you don’t need me.” Jiang Jingcheng said without any expression. His eyes were gloomier, full of disgust when looking at Gu Yan. But Gu Yan didn’t notice that.
Jiang Jingcheng started to modify the files on the computer once he came back to his seat. Suddenly, a vibration of his mobile phone stopped him.
“How is that going, Jingcheng? Did you get the project plan? Could you give it to me at noon? My mom wants you to come for lunch? Are you free then?”
When Jiang Jingcheng looked at the message, he was a little frustrated about the series of questions. He looked around carefully and noticed that nobody looked at him so he picked up his mobile phone and sent the message, “Qian, it’s almost there. Wait for me at home at noon.”
“Who are you texting? What plan?”
Jiang Jingcheng jumped to his feet in fright and turned around at once. He only found that Assistant Liu who was staring at him fiercely was standing behind him. He felt breathless and his legs were trembling unconsciously.
“Did she catch me?” Jiang Jingcheng thought.
Jiang Jingcheng had a brainwave and a good idea came to him.
“It’s you, Liu. You scared your sweetie heart. When did you stand behind me? I didn’t even notice.” Jiang Jingcheng hugged Assistant Liu who was in a sulk in front of him.
Assistant Liu still pouted angrily, staring at Jiang Jingcheng, “Who are you texting? You asked someone to wait for you at home. Who? What exactly is your relationship?” She said loudly.
For Assistant Liu questioned him urgently, Jiang Jingcheng had to told another lie, “Liu, it’s my sister. She works for a design company. You know that recently we have had a new project in our studio. She is more experienced than me, so I just ask her some complex questions related to the project for help.”
Jiang Jingcheng took his cup, took a sip of water, pretending to be calm, and then said unhurriedly, “I haven’t been home for a long time. My sister told me that my parents missed me so much so they let me go home for lunch. This is what happens.”
“Really?” Assistant Liu looked at Jiang Jingcheng with doubts.
“Are you jealous, Dear?” A glamorous smile evoked in the corners of Jiang Jingcheng’s eyes. He gently touched Assistant Liu’s pretty nose, and looked at Assistant Liu indulgently.
“Be serious! I haven’t forgiven you yet.” Assistant Liu was blushed immediately, standing beside Jiang Jingcheng and looking lovable.
“Alright, calm down. Please do not be angry. I’ll take you out for dinner tonight to express my apologies. How is that?” Jiang Jingcheng sat down and gently grabbed her sleeve, acting in a spoiled way.
“Great. That’s a deal. Just remember take enough money.”
“Okay, you can go back to work now. I have some files to modify. President Gu is waiting. Let’s talk it later, dear.” Jiang Jingcheng started to focus on the files after those words, instead of looking at Assistant Liu next to him.
Assistant Liu was about to speak, but she saw Jiang Jingcheng had turned away. She had to shut up and come back to work reluctantly.
Jiang Jingcheng modified the project plan quickly and he printed out two copies of it stealthily. Then he put one in his bag when his colleagues didn’t pay attention to him and handed the other to Gu Yan.
“You have finished it?” Gu Yan paged through the project plan and glanced at Jiang Jingcheng unbelievably.
“Yes. I heard that you had to hand it at noon. So I finished it as soon as possible. Please check it again. Is there anything else to revise?”
“Great. Nice work. Nothing should be modified. Keep up the good work.” Gu Yan was so satisfied with Jiang Jingcheng’s work. Gu Yan thought Jiang Jingcheng was a valuable acquisition to her studio for he made a new project plan which was much better than the previous one in less than half an hour.
“So...President Gu, I am going back to work if you don’t need me.” Jiang Jingcheng said carefully. Clenching his fists on his chest, he was a little nervous because he was afraid Gu Yan could read his mind. Finally he got relived because of GuYan’s smile.
“OK, please help me call Assistant Liu to come.”
“No problem.” Jiang Jingcheng came out of the office and closed the door softly. He took a long breath when he saw the expression of Gu Yan at the moment of closing the door.
Soon Assistant Liu knocked on the door and walked in Gu Yan’s office.
“Liu, you have to send the project plan to Part A company immediately. Remember to be fast and keep it secret.” Gu Yan told Assistant Liu. She was afraid that something bad would happen. It was a large order. Gu Yan knew the project plan was crucial for the studio. So she just reminded Assistant Liu carefully and patiently.
“No problem. President Gu, Please rest assured.”
Assistant Liu took the plan and hustled out of the office.
Gu Yan thought of Xiangyan when she saw Assistant Liu go out. She had been working for days and never had a chance to see him. Mo Yichen was also unavailable. Mo Xiangyan must be bored. Gu Yan glanced at her watch. It was almost twelve o’clock.
It was a lovely day. Gu Yan had almost finished all her work. So she thought it was a good time to take Xiangyan out to see the scenery outside for relaxing.
She tidied up her desk, locked the door of her office and drove away.
