Chapter 34: You're the B*stard
Pei Xin heaved a sigh of relief knowing Ling Lin was going to the hospital to get treated.
For some reason, although Lu Huai and Lu Li were brothers, she still placed her trust in Lu Huai.
She lowered her head and picked up the football at her feet. She looked around the room for Sun Che, he was standing in the corner uneasily.
"Did you hit him with this ball? Didn't your mother teach you about what is right and what is wrong?" Ling Lin was Pei Xin's weak spot. When she saw Ling Lin's tattered face, she immediately regretted her cowardice and tolerance toward Lu Li.
Some people were born to be evil. They found pleasure in others' suffering, so tolerating them would not solve any problems. If they barked, one would have to bark louder than them. These people thought they were above the law, and that killing others was the solution to many of their problems.
Pei Xin had been protected too well previously. She was innocent and kind. When she was bullied, she would only grit her teeth and swallow it. She always thought that if she endured it, they would eventually let it go. If she had resisted earlier, perhaps she would not have ended up in this state.
"You b*tch, what do you plan to do? That b*stard can die for all I care. That'll be the best outcome! If you dare to touch Sun Che, 'll return the favor tenfold!" Lu Li saw through Pei Xin's intentions and quickly barked. He was about to go over and subdue Pei Xin, but Lu Huai blocked him.
"What are you doing? Sun Che is also your nephew and a member of the Lu family!"
"Since he's a member of the Lu family, he needs to be taught a lesson as well. If you and Lu Nan can't teach him well, someone else should do it instead." Lu Huai said coldly.
Without any worries, Pei Xin continued to stare at the trembling child. "You like to play with balls, right? I'll play with you."
As she spoke, she raised the ball in her hand and threw it at Sun Che with all her strength.
No matter how vicious Sun Che was, he was only a five-year-old child. His legs had already turned to jelly from fear and he couldn't find the courage to run. As for the nanny beside him, she did not dare to move if Lu Huai did not say anything.
The moment Pei Xin threw the ball, Sun Che burst into tears, "Mommy, Daddy, save me! She's... Wahh!!"
The ball grazed his face and bounced onto the ground. Pei Xin couldn't leave a heavy mark on the five-year-old child, but it was enough to make him cower.
When Lu Li saw the ball rolling on the ground, he breathed a sigh of relief and shouted at the nanny, "What are you doing just standing there? Does this look like a place for children? Hurry up and bring Sun Che back to my room."
The nanny glanced at Lu Huai. Seeing that the latter did not object, she hurriedly picked Sun Che up and ran out.
Pei Xin turned to look at Lu Li as Lu Huai stepped aside. This woman's performance had surprised him. Was this what a mother should do? He was looking forward to what she would do next.
Lu Li saw that Lu Huai had made way for her, so he took the initiative to mock her. "Pei Xin, do you have a death wish today?"
"Isn't it heartbreaking? Sun Che is a child, but my child isn't?" Pei Xin's voice didn't falter, and Lu Li felt the stab.
"Since you let your nephew run loose, I'll have my revenge and return the favor. Once it happens, remember that all of this happened because you did not teach that child properly!"
"There's a difference. You have a b*stard son. Does it look like he deserves to live? "Lu Li mocked.
Pei Xin sneered. How did she ever think he was a kind person? He was evil to the core! "What right do you have to call him a b*stard?"
"When you were in a relationship with me, you slept with another man and got pregnant. If he's not a b*stard child, what is he?" Lu Li said.
"What about you?" Pei Xin remained composed. Her tone was calm and she smiled a little. "You and Lu Nan were born when your mother was pregnant with President Lu's family. Does that make you an illegitimate child?"
Lu Li's background wasn't a secret. As a former member of this circle, Pei Xin naturally knew about his history as well.
She used to think that Lu Li's mother was immoral, but still stood by Lu Li's side saying that he was innocent. Therefore, she would always comfort him when he complained.
She knew that Lu Li cared a lot about this part of him, so now she was using it to her advantage. She was stabbing him just like how he was stabbing her in the past.
"You really are waiting to die!"
Sure enough, Lu Li turned furious from being ridiculed. He walked closer, lifted his arm, and slapped her. However, just as he was about to hit Pei Xin, someone grabbed his arm. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't break free.
"D*mn it, Lu Huai, let go of me!"
