Chapter 32: Lu Huai's Abnormal Behavior
"How dare you assume that Mr. Lu kidnapped your son?! Are you crazy? Get lost, lady!"
The originally sympathetic guard stopped being kind and harshly forced her to back away. When he heard her blatantly spewing lies about the Lu family, he was sure that this woman was here to spread rumors for attention. He had no idea where this lunatic came from.
If she continued to make a fuss, his salary would definitely be deducted. Hence, he lost his pity and patience and pushed Pei Xin away, forcing her to stagger several steps back.
Pei Xin fell to the ground, but she immediately crawled forward in desperation. She wanted to enter from the gap below but was kicked away by the security guard.
"Don't test me!" The security guard was obviously angry.

The car window rolled down. Lu Huai — who was in the back seat — looked at Pei Xin with a frown. She was still kneeling at the door and begging to be let in.
When the security guard saw Lu Huai's expression, he immediately took action. He grabbed Pei Xin's clothes, picked her up, and threw her aside.
Pei Xin ignored the pain of falling to the ground and saw Lu Huai.
"Mr. Lu, please help me. Lu Li... He took my son away. I'm here to find my son. Please, please let me in."
Pei Xin got up and ran toward Lu Huai, but she instinctively stopped a distance away from him.
"The f*ck lady, how many times have I told you. You need to-"
Lu Huai raised his hand to stop the security guard from continuing. His eyes were fixed on Pei Xin. It was a little odd that this woman has been appearing more frequently in his life.
"Get in the car." Lu Huai pondered for a moment then motioned for Pei Xin to get into the car.
He hated meddling in other people's affairs and he never interfered in Lu Li's. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't ignore this woman in front of him for some reason.
Although Pei Xin was brimming with anxiety, her remaining rationality still reminded her that she could not sit in the same car as Lu Huai. "N-no it's okay, I can walk."
The Lu residence was humongous. There was still a long way to go from the main gate to the mansion. If she walked, it would probably take a long while.
"Weren't you in a hurry to find your son?" Lu Huai looked straight ahead and said indifferently.
Xu Nuo got down from the front passenger seat and opened the back door. "Ms. Pei, please get in the car."
Pei Xin knew that she couldn't reject his command anymore, so she carefully got into the car and sat close to the door. She was afraid that she would bump into Lu Huai if the car turned too abruptly.
Silence filled the air the moment Xu Nuo drove. Once again, Lu Huai felt like he recognized this scent.
He turned his head to look at Pei Xin, only to see the latter huddled up in the seat beside him. She was skinny and small. She almost looked like a frightened puppy, pitiful and helpless.
Pei Xin's appearance reminded him of something. She reminded him of the figure that often appeared in his dreams.
"CEO Lu, we're here." Xu Nuo's voice brought Lu Huai back to his senses. He coughed lightly and retracted his gaze from Pei Xin.
"Ms. Pei, let's go together."
Lu Huai originally planned to send Pei Xin in and not participate. However, he suddenly changed his mind.
He knew that Lu Li had kidnapped her child to force her to come. Lu Huai knew very well what Pei Xin would face if she went to him.
Pei Xin's sorry state at the hospital flashed through his mind. In the end, he could not bear to see her suffer and prepared to go with her.
"CEO Lu, we shouldn't get involved in such matters." Xu Nuo whispered to Lu Huai.
