Chapter 879 Chapter 879 Compromise

"I want everything, Doctor Mastermind." Our bored gamer said and approached the doctor slowly.

He did not want to give the latter a heart attack since this one was only gifted with superb intelligence and not in body.

Thus, he produced a bottle of mineral water in front of the gasping doctor.

"How did you find me?" The doctor asked after he satisfied his thirst for the moment.

"Through your medicine of course. You're a doctor, are you not?" Clark smiled behind his mask. It was only unfortunate that only him could know of this fact.

"I see. I've been greedy." Doctor Mastermind took a deep breath. He ran a discreet drug supply gig in the biggest cities of the world.

This was his means in order to get some additional capital to fund his research. He made a stronger mix in coke and would give a better high but lesser negative effects unto its users.

That improved drug made an instant hit but it came at the cost of him getting captured tonight.

With a resigned face, the old doctor opened a drawer in his table and removed a usb device from inside.

"All my research on longevity drugs are in here." The doctor threw the small piece of thing and closed his eyes thereafter.

He was expecting for a bullet to strike him dead but only silence ensued for a couple of minutes. Before long, curiosity got the better of him and so he opened his eyes once more.

The same masked devil in black stood there like a statue. A breath later, the masked man raised his palm which carried the tiny usb device.

"The secrets of eternal life has no attraction towards me, Doctor. My interest lies somewhere else." Our bored gamer said and nodded as if to command something to appear.

And yes something did arrive as expected.

"PUCHI!" A beating heart laid floating between the two souls in the room.

"ARGGG!" Doctor Mastermind suffocated in place and clutched his chest that was already missing something extremely vital to survive.

"DING!" The bloody heart disappeared in place and it returned to whence it came. No words needed to be said between them since an invisible contract has been made.

The threat of death was a heavy insurance indeed.

"I need you to refocus your quest on something else, doctor. And don't worry about dying early. I shall find a fix for you soon enough."

Clark assured and then he gave what he wanted to get from his first servant in this world.

"SIGH!"

"To make someone follow me blindly is definitely not an easy task." Our bored gamer was back in his home already yet he never stopped monitoring the doctor even from this distance.

The year had been good to him with many results done using his teleportation ability. He acquired two major upgrades in this skill. The first one was to remotely cut anything he wanted.

This was seen in how Doctor Mastermind's heart was magically removed and placed back with ease. No tissue damage or any accidental death in consequence.

Our avid gamer had practiced with his own body on the line and so this move had given him the necessary finesse to do it flawlessly. The second upgrade was remote viewing.

He could see and spy places where he had been already. This second ability was the one Clark was using in order to best keep Doctor Mastermind in line.

"Now all i have to do is wait for breakthroughs in the doctor's research." With this thought, our bored gamer kept his vigil all night long.

It would be one of many nights that would keep him awake over the years.

Time went unobstructed. Clark finished his business degree in college and started to create a business of his own.

All capital was sponsored by his parents so all he needed to do was run it as efficiently and effectively as possible. He did and it was a life that was repetitive like many others.

Over the years, he had mostly kept himself away from the supernatural side of the equation. The superheroes of the world fought with their adversaries and vice versa.

Nevertheless, no one went overboard and created mass genocide for nothing. The super villains may be greedy but they would never do anything that would render them no benefits.

In a blink of an eye, our bored gamer was already 29 years old in this world.

Normally this would have been a great time to be alive but Clark kept to himself and attracted no enemy or ally to his side.

Still, some unforeseen circumstances has been brewing ever stronger as the days went by.

"When are you going to get married, son?" Clark's mother in this world prodded. This was not the first time she opened this topic but it has come to be a constant one over the years.

"I'm still young, mother. And besides, i don't even have a girlfriend yet. Marriage will happen maybe 10 or 20 years from now. I have time." Our good gamer replied in a jest.

He smiled to lighten up this awkward conversation.

"That won't do, Harrison. Your mother and i are not getting any younger. Since you are our only child, it is your job to give us grandchildren. At least a dozen of them if you can.

Don't wait for one of us to die before you grant us our wish!" Clark's father in this world was much direct and obnoxious than his mother.

Even so, our bored gamer understood all their mortal longings. It was only normal to assure that the family line won't die in this generation.

This was the reason why our bored gamer chose to compromise rather than add more worries unto this couple.

Although he was not obligated in any way to accommodate their whims but this was the least he could do to the original owner of this body.

He did not forget that the real Harrison McCarthy died because of his arrival in this world.

"Give me one year. I will introduce your future daughter in law by then." Thus, Clark could only promise.
