Chapter 2575 - Flameyellow Fiend Army

Tianming suspiciously scrutinized the coffin's relief and noticed that he had been mistaken. While the lifeform that was depicted had three heads and six arms, it was markedly different from the Soulfiend. The Soulfiend had three heads, one each for joy, rage, and sorrow. It was also covered in fur and had a primate-like build, with longer arms and shorter legs. However, the figure on the coffin had a build similar to humans. Though it had three heads and six arms, it was clad in crimson and gold armor from top to bottom. From the visage visible through the helmet, one could see that it wasn't primate-like, nor did it look entirely human. Countless depictions of figures like that were on the coffin itself.

"They're called flameyellow fiends!" Wudi laughed from within the coffin.

"What’re they good for?" Tianming asked. All he saw was the glowing reliefs on the coffin.

"Just watch."

Right as Wudi said that, Tianming saw the figures emerge from the surface of the coffin and enter the Flameyellow Guard Formation, where they were surrounded by boundless nova source and seemed to gain life. In fact, they were divine celestial pattern constructs that were part of the Flameyellow Guard Formation.

Their roars shook the sky as they began absorbing the nova source around them, constantly growing in size. Soon, they turned into giants tens of thousands of meters tall! Tens of thousands of them appeared within the formation, assembling into neat formations! The power of the Sun filled their bodies, connecting them to the astralguard formation.

"Did you see that? Ninety thousand flameyellow fiends! That’s the new power of the sanctuary-class Flameyellow Guard Formation! They're able to absorb nova source to strengthen the formation's defensive capabilities, especially against divine astralships. Not to mention, they're unkillable as long as the Flameyellow Coffin’s here!" In other words, the flameyellow fiends made up the bulk of the formation's defenses; how much power could an organized army have?

"Godfather, let me test myself against ten of them!" Tianming was incredibly excited. He almost immediately left the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb to take the flameyellow fiends' attacks.

"You? Forget it. I'm worried you'll be absolutely squashed.

"These fiends are made to fight divine astralships, right? Have them attack my ship then!"

"Alright."

Tianming piloted the ship into the formation toward the army of flameyellow fiends. "Come!" He couldn't wait to see how powerful they were. The stronger they were, the better protected the Sun would be. Though it only had a sanctuary-class formation, it was still one that had been made by the flameyellow divinities.

Wudi sent a hundred fiends to attack Tianming's ship. In a way, an astralguard formation was much like a gigantic divine wonder. The flameyellow fiends were parallels to Moran's evernight whales, while the Flameyellow Guard Formation was like the firmament ocean wonder. While Moran used the ship's miniaturized nova source as a power source, the Flameyellow Guard Formation used the Sun's own nova source. As long as Moran was alive, the whales would never perish, while the flameyellow fiends could also keep regenerating as long as the Flameyellow Coffin was secure and there was sufficient nova source.

The flameyellow fiends were hidden rather well within the formation and could maneuver incredibly quickly. It took them almost no time at all to reach the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb. Their mouths were filled with sharp fangs and they wielded sharp claws. They slammed against the ship nonstop. Tianming didn't resist and wanted to see how much damage they could deal based on the divine astralship formation's depletion. Though there were only a hundred of them, it felt like the ship was a leaf in a raging ocean. The ship's nine heads and tail were completely surrounded.

He triggered a nova source blast around the ship, shattering tens of flameyellow fiends, but they quickly reformed after absorbing nova source just like evernight whales could. In fact, they regenerated even faster. It came as quite a shock.

"Stop!" Tianming roared. Wudi stopped the assault and everything went quiet again. While the ship hadn't been breached, it was shockingly close to it. "Godfather, these flameyellow fiends are too powerful. I think we only need a dozen of them to take down a skypiercer-class ship!"

"A dozen? I think we’ll need less than that!" Wudi said. In fact, one was probably enough to take down the Divine Sun Palace.

"Wait, if Ji Ji's power is infused into the fiends, wouldn't the Flameyellow Guard Formation be able to rival the Hellstar Formation?" Tianming found the notion a little too far-fetched. Gladeus was among the stronger ether-class worlds. The other nine ether-class worlds in the Infinitum Mundus had astralguard formations that paled in comparison to its. How could the Sun, a world a third the size of a standard ether-class world, have such a powerful astralguard formation?

"That's what you don't get. While the sun's nova source isn't quite ether-class, yet, the complexity of the Flameyellow Guard Formation is on a wholly different level, allowing it to perform much better than its class would suggest. Naturally, that also means that it'll consume ten times the amount of nova source that a standard sanctuary-class astralguard formation would. If it's activated for too long, the sun's class might even drop!" Wudi explained.

Tianming was all too aware. The more powerful something was, the more it would cost to use. At the very least, astralguard formations of other worlds couldn’t have that option even if they wanted. With ninety-thousand flameyellow fiends, it was enough to cover every corner of the astralguard formation. Not to mention, they could manifest anywhere they wanted without actually having to travel!
